Someone call the doctor

시간이 지날수록 통제는 힘들어져

Jongdae saw himself move his body to the music as he had chemistry with the cameras, which happened to like him that performance.  He stared at it through his dark eye makeup and proceeded to the next phrase.  Deep down inside, he felt embarrassed because it just wasn’t him.  However, he was proud.  He had finally pulled off a dark, mysterious look.

It was totally not what he had expected.

The music video producers clearly edited a lot, because somehow it didn’t feel the same as it did in the raw footage he looked at.  There wasn’t as much pride in how well they were doing.

Regardless, Jongdae was glad that the finished product looked somewhat decent.  What mattered was that he looked good.  And Baekhyun looked good.  And the rest of the group looked fantastic.

And he thought he got a little better at dancing.

The music video ended and the members clapped happily.  Jongdae looked over to see Jongin criticizing himself and Sehun teasing Kyungsoo for looking short.  In the corner, he could see Suho and Kris in the corner.  Suho was smiling while Kris’ face looked completely dark and sullen, as if he hadn’t had a decent night of sleep for days.  

Jongdae frowned a bit.  What’s got him so upset?  We’re done with filming…

Kris looked at him, and Jongdae’s eyes widened.  His heart beat fast for a second before Kris nodded, emotionless.  His eyes were dark and vague.

Jongdae opened his mouth to say something when the manager started to talk.

“Congrats on your successful comeback,” the manager said.  “Don’t be alarmed, but your schedules will look a bit different than originally planned, with a couple surprises here and there.”

Sehun and Jongin leaned forward in their chairs.  

“What kind of surprises?” Jongin asked.

“Hot girl surprises?” Sehun giggled, earning a playful slap from Jongin.

“No,” the manager said monotonously.  “As in, you guys are going to be able to hold your first solo concert soon!”  The members whispered excitedly before the manager continued.  “Mr. Lee will probably have a meeting with you all either tomorrow or next week after your first promotion performance.”

“Ha, they’re actually coming down to earth to talk to us, eh?” Jongdae heard Kris chuckle quietly.

Jongdae wanted to ask him what he meant when Baekhyun whispered in his ear happily.  “Exciting, huh?”

“Yeah,” Jongdae answered back as cheerfully as he could, though his mind was still on Kris.  

The leader had been acting extra weird lately.  He went to bed earlier than usual and didn’t want to spend any time with the rest of the members.  At first, it could be seen as Kris wanting to embrace his cold style, but Jongdae was starting to see past it.  Something was clearly wrong, and Jongdae almost didn’t want to know what it was about.

After all, Kris had mood swings once in awhile.

“Okay, come here tomorrow.  If Mr. Lee doesn’t come, then you all have to practice anyways,” the manager said.  “Congrats again.”

The short meeting ended, and the members dispersed.  Jongdae saw Kris walk off out of the room after the manager out of the corner of his eye.  

Should I go see what it’s about? he wondered to himself.  He then shook his head.  Maybe hyung just wants to be alone for a while…but why would he be talking to manager-hyung?  His head spun again.  It was all too complicated for him.

“Where did gege go?” Tao wondered sleepily.

“With manager-hyung,” Kyungsoo explained.  “Didn’t you see them walk out?”

Tao shook his head before pouting.

Luhan spoke up.  “What are they doing?”

“They’re probably getting us ice cream or pizza or something,” Sehun said.  “Obviously, they want to treat us.”

“Nah, I don’t think so,” Jongin argued.  “Kris-hyung seemed pretty weird.”

Sehun shrugged.  “Eh, whatever.”  His eyes suddenly sparkled.  “Let’s play a game!”  The rest of the members groaned, and Sehun pouted before standing and putting his hands on his hips.  “It’s not like you guys have anything better to do.”

“Sleep,” Tao mumbled, and Lay nodded in agreement.

“Sleep is for sissies,” Sehun pointed out.  “Let’s play hide-and-seek!”

The members exchanged looks before reluctantly agreeing, which pleased the maknae.  True, they had nothing better to do, so why not bond with each other through a simple game of hide-and-seek?

They quickly decided who was it by playing a round of rock-paper-scissors.  Poor Jongdae’s paper suffered under Baekhyun’s triumphant scissors.  The members slapped Jongdae playfully as he got ready to count to one hundred.
