6 ; Hello sweet you
Living StorySoyung was tired now, after running for seven minutes straight. Her legs were numb, her feet stinging with each step she took. She was too scared to stop and put on her shoes, scared she'd get caught by her parents and brought back home. The one thing she knew, was she was troubled, and didn't care she would cause trouble for her parents. Sure she cared, but there was no harm in thinking outside in the dark alone. When you're a teenage girl you should be cautious, though Soyung could run fast if anyone creepy approached her, and she wouldn't hesitate to hit someone, she was almost fearless. Taking a small breath, the girl peeked around her, nothing but the cold air was there. Wandering down the path, she walked into the park, she was probably far enough from her house now, considering how far she ran, and how unfamiliar the area was beginning to look. Sitting down on the wooden bench, she set her sneakers down on the grass beside her and sighed. Leaning over her knees, she shut her eyes tightly, letting the last of her tears slid down her rosy cheeks. She had stopped crying minutes ago, since she found it hard to breathe while running, but that didn't mean she still didn't feel empty inside. Shaking her head, she tucked her hair behind her ear, running her fingers through a few strands which were tangled.
"It's okay Soyung, you're good, you're okay. Look at you, so ing courageous." She murmured to herself, her voice cracking as she stuck her leg out and slipped one shoe on. "You had the courage to let out all your feelings, there's nothing to hide now. You did good, you did okay. No one will care you're gone any ways right? They don't care." Shoving her other foot into her sneaker, she fiddled with the laces and let out a deep breath. This was the thing, she had a bad habit of talking to herself when she was alone. When she felt the side of her sweatpants and felt no phone, her breath hitched. She was lost, she didn't know what time it was, she didn't have anyone to talk to. She would panic, but figured it would be better to rot out on this park bench then be scolded by her parents. While sitting there, she leaned back into the bench, closing her eyes and pulling her knees up to her chest. Burying her face into them, she took small breaths, thinking of things to calm herself down. She loved being outside, so she imagined that it was safe around her. She loved quiet places, so she imagined she was just closing her eyes in class, or that she was in her backyard looking at the stars. Her thoughts were broken by shuffling in the grass. Her eyes flew open, and the dark brown orbs flickered around the premise. If someone was here, she was probably going to scream. If something, was here she would probably pee her pants. Turning her head slightly, she couldn't seem to find the source of any movement, though she heard someone clear their throat and she perked up quickly. Who was there?
"Soyung?" Hearing her name being called, she turned around, her legs falling off the bench and her feet now resting on the grass again. Looking up at the person who seemed to know her name, she blinked her eyes a few times. He wore a black hoodie, which first scared the out of her, though when she saw the soft, confused expression on his face, her heart stopped jumping so fast. When she saw his tousled hair and strong frame, she could only lean her head back against the back of the bench.
"Kyungil, hello." She said quietly, smiling softly when he fished his phone out of his pocket.
"What the are you doing alone on a park bench at half past twelve?" He said, taken aback by the bravery of the girl younger than him, who was carelessly sitting in the park early in the morning. When she shrugged, her smile faltering, he knew something was wrong. So he walked over and sat down next to her, sitting so his knees pointing toward her. "Want to tell me what's wrong?"
"First of all, tell me why the you're out this late walking around scaring me?" Soyung threw back, her eyes following him and then settling on his face when he sat close to her. Pulling her knees back up to her chest, she sighed and bit at her bottom lip.
"Well, that's easy. I was walking back from Sihyoung's house... It's safer to walk this way, considering the other way is longer and through alleys and the street. Now that you know my reason, tell me yours..." Kyungil spoke quietly, and Soyung couldn't tell if it was because he was tired, or because he was being sweet. She didn't really mind, because now she had someone to talk to.
"First of all, I ran out of my house like an idiot. My mom brought up my father, if you don't know he died because he drank too much alcohol and it's stupid. So I hate him, and my mom thinks I'm depressed because of him and I don't give a about him, I wish she would just stop mentioning him when I don't have a good day. I ran away, because I'm okay, I'm fine." Her voice faltered at the end, she shook her head and looked down. Soyung's eyes watered up again, and they began to fall down her cheeks, sliding down to her chin and falling in little drops onto her pants. Kyungil looked at her, his eyes softening at the reaction, sure everyone had bad days,
