26 ; Demise
Living StorySoyung was at the peak of paranoia. Everytime she walked with her back not to a wall, she felt insecure and at risk. Everytime she walked in the dark she shook, her hands becoming sweaty and her breath being stolen away. Everytime she was alone, she couldn't help but feel someone was watching her. Shakily letting out a breath, she pushed herself farther into her couch, staring at the room around her hesitantly, a small frown on her face. She didn't know if she was safe anymore, if Gina had hired someone to take her, if Gina planned something again or even if she did something to her family. Soyung was busy practically pulling her hair out while laying on the couch when her stepfather walked in the front door. It couldn't be 7pm already, could it? She peeked up to stare at the clock, her vision fuzzy before she squinted, and then sighed. It was, and she had wasted more of the evening. He was tapping his feet against the mat, slipping his dress shoes off and then making his way to find the girl somewhere in the house. His first instinct was her room, but at the sight of a lump on the couch he already knew she was there.
"Hello princess... You okay?" Her father crossed the room to get to her, pulling the side of the blanket to try and urge her from her curled up position. The girl mumbled out a short reply, one that Nick couldn't make out but he still shoved at her shoulder softly. "Someone's here to see you. I could just tell them to leave if you're not feeling good." It always as if the words a switch inside her head, and she sat up so quickly she would have fallen if it weren't for him stabilizing her shoulders.
"Someone's here?" She repeated, very slowly, her eyes peeking over her fathers shoulders and narrowing. From here, she could barely make out a foot and there was no way she could see who it was. "It is my friend?" Soyung glanced up to meet his eyes, he gave a half hearted chuckle and a shrug of he shoulders.
"I assume he is... He asked if you were home." Nick shifted the weight on his feet, making his way over to the door and welcoming the male inside. Soyung was staring at the doorframe, watching quietly as the tall boy walked in and he blinked in surprise. She would not have expected Sihyoung to appear at her house in the middle of the week, but she wasn't mad at it. The girl got to her feet, running his fingers through her staticky hair and then going to greet him.
"Sihyoung, what are you doing here?" Soyung closed the door behind him, glancing over her shoulder to see that her father had left the room and now they could properly talk.
"I wanted to see if you were okay since last time I saw you. Also wanted to talk about..." He paused, staring around the corner as if to make sure no one was listening in on the conversation. Soyung quickly notified, taking a hold of her wrist and pulling him toward the staircase.
"We could go to my room, but I'm not allowed to close the door... Cause um, you're a boy." Sihyoung nodded in understanding, and for some reason the brown haired girl couldn't help but feel embarrassed. She didn't have to tell him that, but she figured he was always the type to answer questions so she might as well. Soyung was pulling the boy up the stairs, her grip loosening as she found he was walking behind her instead, and then they were in her room. The girl rushed to pick up a pile of clothes sitting on her computer chair, hopefully not missing the stray bra she knew was there. Soyung was hauling things away in her closest when the older boy sat down on the edge of her bed, staring at the floral sheets and trailing upwards. She may have had at least 5 stuffed animals sitting at the top of her bed, along with three pillows and two blankets. Sihyoung was busy glancing over her pale blue walls and at the Polaroids of her and Minjae displayed. The girl finally was able to sit down and relax, sitting on the other side of the boy and smiling reassuringly at him.
"What did you want to talk about?" She followed his gaze to the small vase of flowers, and she reached over to brush over a petal.
"I wanted to tell you about my process, how I told you I could get rid of Gina." Sihyoung leaned back, the girl turning so fast she almost smacked into him, but stopped herself before she could.
"What happened? Is everything settled? Do you have a plan? Will it hurt? Are you doing it yourself?" She could have asked questions all day, if it wasn't for the boy gently closing his hand over as the floor creaked outside the door. Soyung swore he was a superhuman in another life, because she hadn't even heard the sound of footsteps or the breathing of her stepdad. Sihyoung leaned in, taking his hand from her face and smilingly sheepishly.
"Sorry, I don't want anyone to hear you." The girl nodded softly, pursing her lips in understanding when his gaze didn't leave her for a while.
"Okay, so I can't tell you everything yet but I just to ask you one last time. Do you trust me?" Sihyoung whispered, the sudden question making the girl pull her knees to her chest and think about it. He hasn't done anything to hurt her, he was secretive but for his own reasons but he wasn't using his power against her; at least she didn't think so. Soyung nodded her head softly, leaning against his pillows and sighing.
"I trust you."
"Good, because I trust you not to tell anyone." Sihyoung started, scooting back so his back touched the wall.
"I won't."
His eyes grazed her frame, carefully tracing down her shoulders and down the small of her back. Sihyoung knew that if Kyungil was here, he would have gotten punched in the head already, but since he wasn't, he didn't care. It wasn't that he had always wanted to look, it's just that he's never really had the time to take in the tiny details of the girl. He hadn't notice the beauty mark on her neck or the way her hair was a little orange in specific light, or how doe like her eyes were or even how her hips were a little bigger tha
