A surprise
It might be you
As days went by the preparations for our wedding were all about set. The invitations were sent, hotel, minister, decorations, flowers, cake, catering, dresses and tuxedos were all ready. We even wrote our vows separately.
One morning during the last week of January, as I got up from bed, I quickly ran to the bathroom to throw up. I was feeling nauseated in bed which forced me to use the bathroom. Oppa was still sound asleep so I quietly sat down by the vanity to try and observe my condition.
Another five minutes went by and I had to rush to the bathroom to puke again. This happened another three times until it finally woke Oppa up. I felt so weak and sick and was sitting on the bathroom floor when I felt him squat beside me to touch my head.
"Jagi, are you okay babe? I heard you throwing up. Come now, let me help you up." He tenderly kissed my head and pulled me up as he guided me to our bed.
"You have cold sweats honey, how do you feel?"
"I feel weak and dizzy Oppa, I've been throwing up nothing, just bitterness is coming out. I must have eaten something bad last night."
"Let's go to the hospital right now Jagi. I'm just going to change then we're going." He stood up to change from his pajamas and went to brush his teeth and wash his face.
"Oppa, let me rest for thirty minutes first. I feel so weak right now."
"Don't worry Jagi, I'll carry you. Let me just help you change then we'll go to the emergency room."
He slowly assisted me into fresh new clothes and took my ID card placed it in his wallet then scooped me up to carry me downstairs. I barely hung onto him as we made it to the car.
He drove to the hospital with a sense of urgency and quickly had me checked in. Luckily the queue of patients was not many so the nurse was able to call me in immediately as she took my vitals.
She took my temperature, my blood pressure and asked me routine questions.
"What brings you to the hospital today Ms. Kim?"
"My fiancé threw up around five to six times before we came and had cold sweats. She was feeling dizzy so I insisted on bringing her here." Oppa had answered for me.
"Have you been around anyone that was sick lately? Do you have any family history of the following diseases?" The nurse asked me. "You can just nod or shake your head. Any allergies? No. Heart disease? No. High blood pressure? No. Diabetes? No. Cancer? No."
The nurse checked her chart.
"What is the date of your last menstrual period?"
"November 11."
"Thank y
