Flashback

The three friends were by the swings at a lonely playground just a few minutes walk away from their home. This was the place they would always be with together. Pei Ling was on the swings giggling happily as Chanyeol and Luhan took turns pushing her. Their happy laughter were put to a stop when they saw a kitten meowing away. Pei Ling being the curious one jumped out from the swing and ran to the little kitten it pelt.

"Hey baby kitty. Where's your mummy?"

Chanyeol and Lu Han came closer and the little kitten dashed off into the bushes making little Pei Ling pout, tears started to form from her eyes and became a full fledged fountain of tears

"Uwahhhhh! Kitty hates me!"

Chanyeol smiled and held Pei Ling who was now sniffling silently in his chest. Lu Han patted her back look at the other boy. They knew she was just being sensitive as usual and this was the more reasons why they want to protect her.

"Don't cry. we'll find the kitty okay?"

She look up at the both of them eyes and nose still red from all the crying

"You promise?"

Lu Han and Chanyeol smiled and nodded. They let her go and soon disappeared into the bushes looking for the little kitten.Pei Ling wipe her eyes and nose cutely as she went back to the swings and sat down waiting for the two boys to come out. She waited and waited until she heard a faint

"I GOT IT!"

A sound of thundering feet was heard and soon Lu Han came back with the same kitten holding it up like a prized trophy and placed the kitten on Pei Ling's lap. She continue the kitten's pelt smiling cutely. Chanyeol came back with an orange kitten with a huge grin

"LOOK! I FOUND ONE!"

The little girl squealed in delight jumping up from the swing, making the kitten on her lap jump but was caught right on time by Luhan as she ran to Chanyeol and held the kitten in her arms.

"Awww this kitty is so cute! I wanna keep them!"

"We can't"

She pouted

"Yeah....."

Her eyes started to teared up once again and Lu Han had an idea

"How about I keep them and whenever you wanna see them you can come to my house anytime"

'Really oppa? Won't your parents be upset?"

"Nah! They know I'm lonely in that house anyways. So how about it?"

"Oppa! I will come to your house everyday!"

"Sure no problem! ! Now what are we gonna name these two cuties?"

Pei Ling thought for awhile and had an idea

"I know! The orange is Garfield and this one is Mimi"

Thus the two kitten were adopted by three best of friends and lived happily together till this very day

Lu Han sighed as he closed the blinds and retreated back to the comfort of his bed lying facing the ceiling thinking of her smile eyes full of happiness. He thought in regret that was too late. Too late to tell her his true feelings. Too late. He felt his heart hurting and he knew his time is slowly coming to an end. He closed his eyes hoping he'd managed to open them on time to see the smile once again soon.
