I for Itaewon Station
From A to Z: My Story of Krystal Jung
Itaewon station is located near my middle school. It took around fifteen minutes by foot. Every morning and in the afternoon I would be there. In the morning, alone, or sometimes with some friends I met on the subway. For afternoon, was another story.
After the bell rang, which was the sign to go home, someone would wait for me or would be waited by me in the staircase, depend on who has been out first from each class. It's a promise at first, but then it became a habitual for us. A habit that should not be missed.
On the first day of middle class, Krystal came to my class, finally we weren't classmates anymore. She begged me to wait for her by the end of the day so that we could walk together to Itaewon Station. She went to school always with her father, that's why I wouldn't meet her there in the morning. I just said yes but of course I'd wait for her.
From then on, we walked side by side to that station. We would talk about everything during fifteen minutes to there. Actually we always met in the cafeteria or every other part of the school, but the journey to the Itaewon Station was more perfect for us to talk about what we experienced that day, just for the two of us to know. Sometimes there would be friends joined us, but we still could find a way to talk to each other even amongst the crowd.
