Jungkook blinked a few times as he suddenly woke up that night. He immediately got up from the bed and glanced to his side, sighing deeply when he saw no sign of Jin on the bed. His eyes immediately fell of the older lying on the couch while hugging himself, probably freezing without blankets wrapping him.

The latter slowly made his way to the couch with a blanket in his hand, slightly tip-toeing so he won’t wake the older up. He crouched right next to the couch, admiring the older’s features with a slight smile carving his lips. That was when the thoughts get to him.

He was rejected. Kim Seokjin, the guy he loved so dearly made fun of his feelings without giving any chance for him to prove it. Everything he said that day darted into Jungkook’s mind, almost making him scream but staring back at that pure sleeping face made him realize something.

Hey, true love is worth the wait isn’t it? Besides Jin hasn’t said the rejection out loud, it’s all just assumptions. There are still chances for him to show how much he can love this guy named Kim Seokjin. There are still chances that Jeon Jungkook’s name will be carved into his heart.

“I won’t give up on you hyung. Cut me with your words, hurt me with your actions yet I’ll still look for you. I’ll show you how much I can love you. Just wait for it hyung.”

Jungkook thought he was dreaming when he saw a slight upward curve formed at the edge of Jin’s lips. Ignoring that, he pressed a very gentle kiss on the older’s forehead that was covered with his bangs. He then proceeded to covering the figure on the couch with the blanket he brought earlier with him, smiling in satisfaction before he walked back to the bed.

Jin almost forgot he was breathing at that time. He had always been a light sleeper, he had been awake ever since he felt someone’s presence next to him. He felt like his heart was beating twice as fast the moment he heard Jungkook’s voice.

Recalling everything the maknae said makes him somehow smiled a bit he almost forgot he was supposed to be asleep. He just hoped the maknae didn’t realize anything. He gripped on the blanket Jungkook wrapped him with, smiling as he felt the maknae’s scent all over it.

Hold up Kim Seokjin- are you in the right mind to actually smiling like this?

Jin shook his head a few times. No, he can’t be like this. It’s Namjoon that made his heart beats this fast. Not Jungkook. Totally not that kid.

“Morning Jin hyung!”

“Yo Jin hyung!”

Jin blinked as Jungkook and Namjoon both entered the kitchen at the same time, both greeting him as they approached the kitchen counter. Jin didn’t understand why he was contemplating on how to treat Jungkook so he chose to just stare at the onions he was chopping at that time.

“Hey guys. Did you sleep well?” Jin asked, his voice sounded flat as he tried to endure his eyes that stings so much as he tried to stay focused on chopping it. Somehow, the two boys immediately caught Jin’s awkward style of chopping until they both didn’t hear a word Jin was saying.

“Hyung that looks dangerous-“

“Jin hyung you’re gonna cut yourself-“

“Ouch-“

“HYUNG!”

Jungkook and Namjoon both rushed towards Jin who was holding his bleeding thumb. Namjoon frowned as he panicked but Jungkook immediately ran in search of the first aid kit. The leader mentally facepalmed when he saw the maknae coming back into the kitchen with a white box in his hand.

“Hyung just what are you thinking until you cut yourself like this?” Jungkook huffed as he pulled Jin to sit on the floor then took out some cotton and iodine, looking like a professional nurse as he treated Jin’s small cut with both his hyung’s eyes on him.

“I- I didn’t think of anything I- ah right, it’s because I’m talking to you guys that’s why.” Jungkook slightly chuckled upon hearing the older stuttering, not even a bit aware of Namjoon’s hurt eyes that looked at the both of them.

“I think I’m gonna wake the boys up. I’ll leave breakfast to you both okay?” Namjoon said that in a rush before he immediately went out of the kitchen, not being able to handle his own heart that felt so bruised at that time. He wanted to run away from the scene just as quick as he can.

“But Namjoon I- since when did you even bother to wake them up it’s usually me doing these things.” Jin muttered, however way too loud for Jungkook to hear each words but he kept quiet and did his job silently and also, slowly. Like very slowly.

“Jungkook it’s just a slight cut what is taking you so long?”

“Shush hyung I’m treating it right so it won’t be infected or anything later.”

“Are you sure this is not you taking advantage to hold my hand or anything?”

“Well partially yes but partially no.”

“Jeon Jungkook I got a stew to cook-“

“Would you like us to eat blood stew or something?”

“I- of course not why would I?”

“Then sit still and let me finish my work before you turn all BTS’s members into draculas.”

Jin lets out a sigh as he felt himself losing words to say. Jungkook always know the right thing to say, or even the right thing to do. Even when he is the oldest hyung he find himself somehow amused by how matured this 18 years old kid is.

“There, I’m done. Now you stay here while I finish up for our breakfast.” Jungkook’s gentle pat on his cheeks eventually snapped Jin back to reality. As soon as Jungkook saw Jin’s mouth moving to argue, he placed a finger on the older’s soft lips.

“Further arguments are invalid. Do you hear me?”

“Oh Jeon Jungkook you’re so demanding.”

“I know. It’s Jeon Jungkook’s style.”

Jin ignored the text he received from Jungkook. Truthfully he didn’t want to go anywhere close to that kid. His heart had been beating weirdly fast these three days ever since the incidence in the kitchen. Heck no it had been unstable since he moved in the room with that kid, which is exactly why he chose to hurt his own backbone sleeping on the couch.

Jin fidgeted in his seat uneasily at the next text he received. The maknae is usually playful but he don’t do stuffs like this often. He knows how Jin will get panic and rush towards him immediately because he’s the oldest hyung. Somehow it made Jin worried, heck Jin couldn’t even focus on the drama he’s watching.

Jin doesn’t need another text for him to run from the living room to the store room behind the house. He panted hard then clutches his chest, trying to catch his breath again while his eyes scanned the room. It was way too small Jin felt his heart beats fast, thinking that Jungkook is inside, probably gasping for air because there’s literally nowhere for oxygen to enter the small and more like a cubicle room.

“Yah Jeon Jungkook are you there? Do you hear me?” Jin asked as he knocked on the door while his hands trying to open it up. He frowned deeply as he realized the door was indeed locked.

“Jin hyung?” Jin’s heart skipped a beat upon hearing Jungkook’s soft voice.

“Oh God Jungkook are you okay? Okay wait up I’ll take you out from there.”

“Hyung…”

“How the hell did you end up inside? I swear if this is because of V I’m so gonna kill him. This kind of prank is so not funny!” Jin grumbled
