♂ Act II ✍ Chapter 4
InkblotsDear Min Seulyoung,
You might have heard in the news, we're finally advancing! We've now taken over some major North Korean cities and our enemy is falling, piece by piece. You can tell in the eyes of the soldiers that they feel defeated already. On one hand it makes us feel stronger and more hopeful, but on the other hand, it becomes harder to kill those soldiers. They too just want to go home and see their families, just like us. They are almost handing themselves over to us, the way they aren't fighting as hard as they used to. And instead of killing them we've gotten orders to take them as POWs, Prisoners Of War.
Even so, none of us can forget what they've been doing for the past half year. So sometimes, if we're feeling extra angry, we might treat them harshly, or on some occasions kill a couple. It's horrible. I don't want to do it, but I keep seeing Oh Sehun's face, so young, so alive until they came along. That tester was never repeated. Good thing, we might have killed even more of them.
The POWs are being sent elsewhere. The idea is that we reduce their standing army without wasting our already low supply of ammunition. Since they're crawling to us themselves, practically, we made use of their unwillingness to fight. I'm feeling better about this war, Seulyoung. Not that I feel any better for killing all that I've killed, but I think we're going to win. That means I can make it back to you soon! It's that thought that keeps me fighting
