Donghyun coughed, breaking the silent tension that wraps them. The woman also smiled before shift awkwardly on her seat.

He quickly grabs a glass before smiled to the woman. “Hello. My name is Kim Donghyun. I’m your son Jonghyun’s friend.”

The woman smiled. “Thank you for taking care of him. As you already know,  I am D—Jonghyun’s mother.” She replied, stuttered a bit before finish of her sentence with a smile. Donghyun smiled back.

“Jonghyun said you worked. Did you mind if I ask what your job is?” Donghyun asked politely, cringing slightly when he heard himself speaking in a formal form. He had not spoke with formal form for three years.

The woman smiled again. “Why, of course I wouldn’t mind. But first, why don’t you take a seat?”

Donghyun smiled awkwardly before taking a seat in front of her.

Jonghyun’s mother smiled before opens up . “I worked in the Red Cross Center, as a paramedic.”

Donghyun nods, uncertain of what to do. “It’s.. cool, I guess?”

Mrs. Kim laughed. “Yes, of course it’s cool. But for me, what makes it cooler is that I can save lives of people.”

Donghyun clasped his hands. “Yes! Of course! How cool is that!” He stated happily. “My Father had always wanted to do that. But he never had the chance.”

“And if I may ask, what is your Father’s job?”  Mrs. Kim asked.

Donghyun gulped. “Erm. He was a policeman.”                          

The woman tilted her head. A weird look shows on her face. “By any chance, is your Father’s name Kim Kwangseok?”

Donghyun opened up his mouth a bit, agape. “Erm, yes, but how would you know—“

Suddenly, the woman reached up and held Donghyun’s shoulders tightly, tears started b on her eyes. Without words, she hugged Donghyun tightly. “Oh, how I miss you, Hyunnie.” She said, crying.

Donghyun sat stiffly on her arms, fidgeting uncomfortably before he remembered something. The exact same voice, the voice that always told him to eat, the voice that always told him to study.

It was hers.

And before he knew, Donghyun had hugged her back, crying in an uncontrolled sobs on her arms, hugging her so tightly than he ever did.
