Chapter 10
You? Yes, You!Soon, Donghyun finds himself in a warm, dark house. Jonghyun smiled apoligetically before reaching beside the door and flicked the lights on. Soon, the dark fades away, and Donghyun can see a Christmas tree leaning on one of the walls.
Jonghyun take off his shoes, and Donghyun followed suit, tailing Jonghyun as the younger boy opened a door. “This is where you could sleep.” He smiled. Donghyun smiled back before putting his bags and take off his coat. He then followed Jonghyun who had walked to the kitchen.
In the kitchen, Jonghyun made two cups of hot coffee and motion the other boy to sit on one of the kitchen stool. He followed not too long after, handing one of the cups to Donghyun.
Jonghyun rubs his hand nervously before flashing an apologetic grin to Donghyun. “I’m sorry. My Mother must be off on her night shift again.”
Donghyun looked up from his cup, looking intrigued. “Your Mother works on Christmas?”
Jonghyun nods slightly, playing with his own palms. “Yeah. Silly old lady, I told her she don’t have to, but she told me she works more to keep herself busy.”
Donghyun smirked. “Your Mother sounded like a crazy old woman.”
“Hey!” Jonghyun looked up, insulted. “—But at least she’s your crazy old woman.” Donghyun continues with a giggle, and Jonghyun, with realization that Donghyun was joking, start to laugh as well.
“What about your Mother? Is she working as well?” Jonghyun asked. Donghyun blinked. “Erm, sort of. My Mother and Father lives in Japan with my sister. They let me live here to pursue my dream.”
Jonghyun looked at the older boy with a look of disbelief. “Really? And they don’t even ask you to come and celebrate Christmas with them?”
Donghyun shrugged before forcing out a small smile. “I’m supposed to come home for Christmas, but you know, schedules.” He shrugged again as if it’s not much of a big deal, but Jonghyun knew how he felt—because that’s how he felt when he cannot come home because of hectic schedule.
“Hey, what’s with the mood?” Donghyun asked jokingly when Jonghyun suddenly hugged him. Jonghyun just shook his head.
“Ani. Let’s watch movie and wait for my Mom.” Jonghyun said, grabbing a pack of potato chips from the kitchen counter. Donghyun threw the pillows to the floor, and Jonghyun dragged the blankets and soon, they were ready for their camp off.

Donghyun gets up, rubbing his eyes. He glanced at the clock. 2:30. He yawned. Jonghyun and him had stayed up until it’s like, 1 AM. When there’s still no sign of Jonghyun’s mother, Jonghyun apologized to him, saying that he’s so sorry that Donghyun spent his Christmas night like any ordinary night. Donghyun brushed him off, saying that he don’t mind at all, and soon, they had fallen asleep, with the movie Flipped playing on screen.
He got up, deciding to go to the kitchen to grab a glass of water. Fixing Jonghyun’s blanket, he slowly made his way to the kitchen. He had to hold the kitchen door to not fell in surprise.
Inside the kitchen, sat a woman on one of the kitchen stool.
His eyes meet hers, and for a moment, time stood still.
