A/N: Hi everyone, long time no speak!! I have been full on with my SehunxOC story (as the deadline is looming) would you believe I've written over 8,000 words and 5 chapters for that in this past week alone? But I thought I'd touch base with all you wonderful HyoHunnies and offer you a bit of a song fic! It's not one of the requested fics (honestly... I think almost everyone who used to read this forum has left TT__TT) but I had a bit of inspiration so here we go!! xKei

‘You have to move on unnie,’ Seohyun said.

If there was ever a voice of reason and good moral judgment it was the maknae. But of course it was easier said than done.

‘You think I don’t know that?’ Hyoyeon asked.

They were practicing for SM Town and of course that meant all the groups were there – including f(x) and EXO – including Krystal and Kai, ‘believe me, I’m trying. It’s just taking some time, that’s all.’

Hyoyeon tore her eyes away from the couple acting cute with each other and focused on getting her steps correctly. Ever since news broke she’d gotten a bit distracted and Sooyoung was being a pain in the about remembering steps. Sooyoung who was horrible at it was even better than her. That just wasn't right.

She heard footsteps behind her but before she could even get her hopes up, she turned and saw that it was Baekhyun, ‘I’m sorry that they have to be right in your face.’

Her face softened, ‘Hey, don’t say it like that. It’s nothing to do with you… we never became a couple.’

And she guessed that was the worst part of all of this. That she and Kai never became a couple – they didn’t do anything brave like Baekhyun and Taeyeon (even if that didn’t work out) or now, like Krystal and Kai.

Instead they just messed around, not taking it seriously at all.

So there was no one to blame.

Obviously, neither of their feelings had run deep enough.

Kai kicked his bed covers off irritably, giving up on sleep. Looking across to where D.O. was sleeping, he tiptoed out of the room and sat in comfortable darkness on the couch.

Sighing, he rubbed his hands over his face, why was he still thinking of her?

It all started earlier that night, during a post-rehearsal dinner when Krystal asked him why his clothes were so bad. He looked down to find a stain near the elbow of his favourite white sweatshirt. While at first he was at a loss as to where he’d gotten it from, the colour reminded him of the time he and Hyoyeon had snuck away in the EXO van to eat some chicken. That was when he’d gotten that sauce stain.

‘You have to burn it,’ Hyoyeon declared, ‘all evidence must go.’

‘No way!! This is my favourite sweatshirt!’ he resisted.

Mischief spreading on her face, she lunged at him, ‘give it to me!!’ she laughed, trying to pull it off of him.

‘Stop it! Stop that right now!’ he protested, wrestling with her but not being able to keep his laughter back. Eventually Hyoyeon ended up almost right on his lap… and the mood changed.

'I'll give it to you if I get something in return,' he offered.

Hyoyeon's eyes were already looking at his lips, 'Okay...'
