Starting anew
Secrets are meant to be keptThere I was once again in the dark auditorium, being a speck in the audience cheering for our favourite dance teams. I wasn't sure what I was doing there among screaming fangirls whom I despised so much in the past. Man, I even stood out in my nerdy gear among the ily-clad girls or hiphop inspired wear. Thank god for the enveloping darkness. I shifted uncomfortably at the corner and strained my eyes towards the brightly lit stage.
There he was, clad from top to toe in hip hop black, snapback, sneakers and all the works. I couldn't take my eyes off of him as he performed his slick dance moves to the beat of the blaring hip hop music. His fans cheered and chanted his name after his solo performance while he grinned from ear to ear, waving to his fans, knocking them off their feet. One thing I know for sure - this kid is gonna light up a larger stage one day. I gave a lop-sided grin and slowly made my way out. After-performance parties were never my thing and besides, I'm not invited.
Entering my small rented studio (a nicer name for my rooftop shed), I bade a mental farewell to my hometown of Busan, my mother's picture and my first love, Lee Seunghoon. I'm gonna start anew in the capital city of Seoul, with a new life, a new look and a new attitude.
