Mira couldn't quite grasp the situation that she was in. She couldn't stop thinking of the many possibilities that this issue could lead to.

Mimi?

She was pretty sure Kai had just called her Mimi. But... Did he know that was her nickname? Or does he really not know and it was simply out of coincidence? She knew Baekhyun always called her Mira; same with Chen and Tao. Chanyeol and Kyungsoo call her "Mimi" as an inside joke, a million thanks to Sehun. So why did he call her Mimi?

Kai couldn't help but curse at himself inside of his head. He played this situation over and over in his head so he would be prepared to ask her, but in reality it's easier to imagine it than to actually do it. As much as he wanted to know the outcome of calling her Mimi, his curiosity made him speak out without even giving it a second thought. Now he couldn't take it back. He had to deal with the outcome and accept it.

In all honesty, he did want to talk to her about it. It. About the past, about their friendship, about her mom, about her. He wanted to know everything because it was seriously ripping him apart mentally. But everytime he attempts to bring it up, he backs away and becomes a coward. Always convincing himself that's it's either not the right time or the right place.

But he couldn't help but wonder why she seemed so anxious? Was it possible... That she could remember? Why else would she appear this nervous? Maybe she remembered and is slowly taking it all in? Or maybe she recalls that name but can't remember anything else? Kai suddenly felt bad for putting her through this because he knows how much it hurts her when she can't remember anything.

Right when he was about to apologize for bringing up the subject, she spoke up with a question. A question which left Kai frozen in his spot.

"Why did you call me, Mimi?" She asked calmly, yet daringly as a distraction to hide the nervous side of her.

Kai had to come up with a believable and reasonable excuse, or else she would most likely ask more questions. He smiled innocently at her without any troubles, but caught himself fidgeting with his fingers underneath the table.

"Uhhhh... Because it's a cool nickname for you." He announced it more of as a question rather than a statement and soon noticed his mistake, so he repeated himself confidently, "It's a nice nickname for you, don't you think?" He said it boldly and shrugged his shoulders like it was no big deal, despite how fast his heart was beating, thinking he could get caught in the lie.

"Y-Yeah, it's a cool name," Mira chuckled and tried to shake off her nerves. She took off the jacket she was wearing and placed it on the seat beside her. Not only did she feel her cheeks becoming red, but her body started to feel warm as well. As if the universe itself was feeling how awkward the atmosphere had become and felt sorry for the two, one of the employees called out their order in which Mira excused herself to get the drinks.

When Mira left, Kai buried his face into his shaking hands and sighed loudly. "Damn it, Kai. That was a dumb thing to do. What do I do?" He scolded himself quietly and took his hands off his face as he looked down at the table.

Kai began tapping his fingers on the table and stared aimlessly at the empty seat in front of him, but soon subtly jumped in his seat when he saw Mira fill the emptiness and place the drinks in front of him, making him break his train of thought.

"Here Kai! Your large drink!" Mira held out the filled cup and offered his drink to him with a gleaming smile. Her change of expression and mood definitely took Kai by surprise but at the same time it created an atmosphere a lot less tense than it was a moment ago. They both took a big sip of their drinks, leaving it quiet for a while. Mira's gaze drifted off to her drink and then to Kai, which made her ask curiously, "So, is Mimi your desired nickname for me or something?"

Kai almost choked on the boba he was swallowing but coughed it back up as he held back the tears. "Y-Yeah, I guess. Haha, it just came to my head, I guess," Kai lied and tried his best to ignore looking into her eyes and looked around the shop.

"Wait, w-why? Do you not like it? It just sounded nice... But I don't mind calling you Mira, too," he glanced at Mira who was gazing at him, so he shifted his gaze to the couple behind her. He regretted it instantly when he noticed them making out in the corner. Get a room, geez!

As much as he wanted to call her by her old nickname again, he understood if she wouldn't like it. She's not the same Mira from before technically speaking, so it's possible that her tastes could change.

Mira giggled a little and added, "It's not that. I like that name a lot, actually. But... It's not the first time being branded that, if you didn't already know that."

Kai sat up straight in his seat and cocked his head a little to the side and shifted his gaze back to her after she mentioned this. He was hoping, if there was any chance, that she could possibly remember anything from the past.

"Oh, really? Branded? You make yourself sound like a cow. Who else calls you that? If you don't mind me asking."

"I don't mind," she stated. "Well, I do remember that name was randomly created by Sehun a long time ago. For some reason he just wanted to call me 'Mimi' instead of 'Mira'. So ever since that day, he's been calling me Mimi. But of course as we grew older, he grew out of it. After I met Kyungsoo and Chanyeol, Sehun was joking around one day and kept teasing me, calling me 'Mimi'. So that's what caused Kyungsoo and Chanyeol to call me 'Mimi' now. Well, occassionally; not all the time."

Kai tried his best not to seem defeated but ended up slumping in his seat a little bit in defeat. Ah, this is going to be harder than I thought. "Ahh, I see. Well, if you don't want me calling you Mimi, I understand!" Kai confessed then took a couple of sips of his drink.

Mira illuminated an angelic smile on her face and gave a genuine answer, "I don't mind at all! So, should I come up with a nickname for you?"

Kai looked up from his drink, but because he had a mouthful of boba in his mouth, he couldn't answer right away. Mira giggled at Kai's big cheeks because he instantly reminded her of a chipmunk. He swallowed the boba quickly and almost choked but was able to get everything down. He coughed to clear his throat, "Uh, sure. If you want."

Mira tilted her head to the side and shifted her gaze upwards as she placed her index finger lightly on her chin. Her thinking pose. This was something she always used to do as a kid and Kai had just noticed this. Has she always been doing this? Kai smirked at the scene. If there was one name that he would accept, it would be the one she made for him when they were all close friends. 

"A chipmunk? Chip or Dale?" Mira joked around, but a smile was placed on his mouth when she made a Disney inference.

"Hm, I can't think of any good ones right now, but I'll let you know when I come up with one. I want one that really suits you. Anyways... Was that all you really wanted to talk about?" Kai had almost completely forgot about it but thank goodness she brought it up! Kai looked at Mira with a serious gaze and squinted his eyes a moment later. It looked like he was thinking hard about something, but Mira couldn't figure out what it could be.

"What do you say... You and I..." Kai paused and allowed the previous words sink in for Mira. But the longer he waited to tell her, the more anxious she got because she didn't know what to expect. Kai continued, "You and I... Go... Somewhere... Together?"

"Y-You and I, t-t-together?" Mira couldn't help it and stuttered a bit thanks to her nervousness, which didn't leave unnoticed by Kai, who was now cracking up and laughing his off.

"Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Oh my god, Mira! Hahahahaha!" Kai shouted out while laughing at the same time.

"What?" Mira asked innocently.

"You're so funny! Why are you so nervous?! Did you think I was confessing my love to you or something? I just wanted to ask if you wanted to come with me and the guys somewhere to practice our audition piece!" Kai couldn't contain his laughter and a few minutes passed before he could calm himself down.

Mira rolled her eyes and scoffed loudly in annoyance. "Pabo..... You said just us going somewhere together..." She said under her breath. "I hate you."

When he was calm enough, he spoke again, "No you don't! Anyways... We have to work on our audition piece and we were wondering if you wanted to practice too. Maybe even give us some notes on our choreography?"

"I don't know, you were being a jerk just now," Mira replied in a cold tone as she crossed her arms across her chest and twisted her body towards the window on her left so she could ignore Kai.

"C'mon, Mira! Don't take it up the . It was just... Your reaction was really funny, haha," Kai laughed and flicked Mira's forehead, making her turn towards his direction. She glared at him while she pouted in annoyance, but Kai wasn't affected one bit. Instead, he only chuckled at how childish she was acting and took another sip of his drink. 

They only had a couple of weeks to get their routine together and Mira wasn't even close to being done, so she felt she should take this chance to practice and get some feedback from the guys. The only thing that was holding her back was the fact that she has never danced in front of them before, so things would be awkward for her. Mira pursed her lips as she thought about the offer. 

"Hm... When did you plan on practicing?" Mira asked and Kai replied, "After the picnic on Friday. We'll be together already so we'll head over to the studio after. You want to come?"

Mira returned to her 'thinking pose' again and playfully swayed her head side-to-side, automatically making Kai mirror her movements.

"I'll think about it. I do need to practice," she chirped and adjusted slightly in her seat as she leaned forward towards Kai and held up her index finger, gesturing for him to come closer. As he leaned forw
