*Kai’s POV*

“Kai, you went to see Emilee?!” I’m currently in my dad’s study room with my mum telling me off.

“Yes.”

“Didn’t I tell you not to go and see her?!!”

“Mum!! She is hurting!!! I can’t just leave her alone like that!!! She is my girlfriend. She is my mate!!!” I yell at my mum.

“Kai!! Do not speak to your mum like this.” My dad shouted at me.

“I need to take a breather.”

“Kai!!!” Ignoring them, I speed out to the garden.

Why am I involved in all this? I run my hands through my hair, feeling so vexed.

I miss you, Emi. I want to see you again. I want to hold you in my arms again. I miss your smile and your laughter. Life without you is so terrible. I want you to stay with me. There are so many things that I want to do with you. We can walk in the snow during winter. We can go swimming during summer. We can go to the amusement park together just like before. We can go fishing together. We can do anything that you want to do.

I grip my throat when it starts to burn again. I speed into the kitchen and open the fridge to retrieve packets of blood. I don't know how many packets have I drank. I lean lifelessly on the wall. This is what happens when you get a taste of your mate’s blood. You will keep craving for it. You will only feel satisfied after you consume it. Of course you don’t always need to drink from your mate but once in a while, you should feed on them. Those vampires who have not find their mates will not feel the craving and desire. They live normal and are comfortable with feeding on anyone’s blood.

“Well... My poor little cousin is in pain.”

“Why are you here?” Sehun walked into the kitchen.

“I came to see how my little cousin is doing. Doesn’t look good to me. Is it because of your little mate?”

“I don’t know what you are talking about.” I stood up and wanted to walk away.

“Then, who mate is that? She’s such a beautiful lady, isn’t she? Pure and innocent. I wonder how she tastes like. She must be very sweet.” Sehun purposely said this to provoke you. Never admit it.

“I don’t know who she is.” I said coldly.

“Oh really? Then you wouldn’t mind if I get to know her, right? I wonder how she performs in bed too…” Sehun said while walking away.

I grab him by his collar and slam him against the wall. “Don’t you dare to touch her!!” I clenched my teeth in anger.

“Didn’t you say she isn’t your mate?”

“I warned you. You better stay away from her!!!” I throw him onto the ground and left. Damn it. How did he found out about Emi? They must have seen me going into her house or smelled my scent on her. Them!!

I found out that Sehun has been stalking Emi for a few days. She is no longer safe. I need to get her back to my side. I decided to appear in front of her. I pleaded Lay to help me with it. I know what she has been doing. I easily got into her school, enrolled into the course that she’s studying. I thought Sehun would know to back away from her. But he didn’t. Instead, he appeared in front of her. This totally enrages me. What is he planning? I do not know. He even starts to mention about killing her in front of her. I got no choice but to reveal my identity. That silly girl, she even offered her blood to me. I know this is natural for soul mates. If one party is thirsty, the other party would sense it. It is normal for mates to drink from each other.

But I cannot bite her. Not now. If I bite her, all her vampire senses and memories will be awakened. I cannot do this. I don’t want her to get involve with Sehun in any way. I don’t want her to get into any issues related to the throne. I don’t her to be in danger.

The thirst suddenly becomes so unbearable.

“Go away. Get out.”

“No! I don’t want. Are you hurting? Is it very pain? What do you need? How can I help you?” She started to get near to me.

“Just stay away from me!!” I push her away, causing her to slam against the wall. I feel so guilty.

“You need to feed. You can drink from me.” She continues to move forward.

“No. Stay where you are.” I understand why she is acting this way. But I just can’t feed from her.

“Kai..”

“You don’t understand. I’m not going to feed from you.” I smash the window and run as far as I can.

“KAI!! Kai!!” Her voice started fading away.

I called for Lay to pick me up. I need to get away from her for a period. Otherwise, I will be unable to control myself. I’m reaching my limit.

I held a packet of blood in my hand, standing in the garden. I look straight in a direction. The water in the fountain starts dancing around. Grasses start to freeze. The icy leaves break and fall on to the ground.

“Kai…” Lay patted me on my shoulder. Everything comes to a stop. I drink the packet of blood and turn to him.

“Your mom's  looking for you.” I nodded at him and headed back into the castle.

“Kai, do you know what you are doing?” My mum asked me.

“There is no turning back now, mum. I’m not going to leave her again.” I said firmly.

“Kai…”

“Mum, I can’t leave her anymore and I won’t.” I didn’t tell them I went back to Earth to find Emilee. I think they found out somehow. I know I may be too impulsive when making this decision but when I heard Sehun is going after her, I cannot just stand around and do nothing. I need to protect her.

“Sehun..” Suddenly, this name ringed inside Emi’s thought.

Kai, Kai. Where are you? Please come and save me.
Emi!!!

I dash out of the castle immediately. “KAI!!” Lay shouted for me.

“Emi is in trouble!!!” Lay and I went to look for Emi. But I’m too late. When I found her, she was being flung across the road and her body smack on to the bricks wall and then bounced on to the ground.

“EMI!!!!”

“Kai…” I rush to her and lift her up slowly.

“Emi.. Emi..” My eyes start to fill with tears.

“Ren…” Her hand came to my face and wipe off my tears. “I’m fine. I don’t like to see you like this.” She smiles at me.

“Kai, I’m sleepy.”

“Please. No! Please stay with me. Don’t sleep. Please…” I can’t lose her. I can’t.

“Kai... I love you. Always.”
