Murder
Golden Curse
Narrator's pov:
Jinki shifted on his bed as he closed his eyes, getting ready to sleep, but the noise didn't let him.
He kept shifting on the noisy bed when he sat up straight, looking into the darkness and thinking.
Thinking that his brothers would have loved this place, especially the night market and it would be something that could relax the stiff Minho.
Thinking about his family members, he slowly got more and more tired, finally falling asleep, so tightly, he didn't hear a thing anymore.
Riah was sleeping, curled up into a ball as the moon was shining brightly. Her forehead was covered in sweat as she curled up more into a ball, like she was having a nightmare.
Soft whimpers left her lips as she moved her head, trying to get rid of the bad thoughts that she was having in her sleep.
Flashes of the dancer warning her, telling her the riddle, made her whimper and moan almost in pain.
Her breathing was getting heavier and she started to get feverish as her cheeks were getting more red and her body was starting to sweat more.
Without knowing this, she kept sleeping, trying to get rid of the awful feeling she wasn't even really aware off.
---
"Are you alright?" Jinki asked worried as he saw Riah in the morning.
She looked like she was going to faint any moment and was about to pass out by just walking.
"I-I'm fine..." she mumbled weakly, sitting on the wooden bench at the table they picked to eat breakfast at.
Jinki tilted his head a bit the side as he looked at the young woman suffering from a fever, her complete body in sweat.
"Maybe it was too cold yesterday?" Jinki asked, maknig Riah whimper softly.
"Or maybe because this is your first time out of the tower, you're not used to everything yet.3 Jinki tried to cheer Riah up and smiled at the owner of the hotel as she brought them breakfast.
Some milk and slices of bread with butter and jam.
"EAt some food, it might make you feel a bit better than now..." Jinki said, spreading some butter on a slice of bread and giving it to the young woman who accepted it without any words, taking a little bite from it.
"I feel like dying..." Riah said, trying to smile, making Jinki chuckle lightly.
"Did you know? Someone got killed?"
Jinki and Riah turned their head to a table filled with a few middle aged men.
"Who?" one of the men asked.
Jinki glanced at Riah who listened curiously even though she was on the verge of fainting.
"You know there was a group of performers yesterday? One of their dancers got killed."
