Changes

Another day had come to them. Bomi walked from the dorm to her building when she saw Baekhyun walking at the opposite side. He waved at her when he saw and Bomi gave him a smile before continuing her walk. But she got surprised when someone just jumped to her and slung an arm around her shoulder

“Yah!” she said and turned to see that it was Baekhyun “B-Baekhyun?”

“Yah Bbom, are you mad at me?” Baekhyun asked

“Huh? Why’d you ask?”

“You’re not playing with me anymore” He said and pouted

“Baekhyun, we’re not kids anymore. Look we’re already in our last year of high school” She said as she started walking again and Baekhyun followed

“I know, what I mean is you’re not like the usual. You’re not that bubbly anymore”

“You’ve forgotten three years of your life Baekhyun. And within those three years, many things have changed” She said while looking directly into his eyes, and then she walked away leaving a confused Baekhyun.

Bomi walked to her seat at the back of the classroom without even glancing at anyone, totally ignoring the greetings of her classmates. She slumped down on her chair and put her face down the table. She felt that she made a mistake for saying those things to Baekhyun, because he will be suspicious. She ruffled her own hair and grunted while still facing down.

“BOMI!”

“YAH!” she jumped in surprise and gave a glare to Jongdae who just laughed at her reaction “Stop laughing Chen it’s not funny” she said again and rolled her eyes

“Well you look funny while your table”

“Shut up!”

“Chen go away, anywhere and don’t bother Bomi” said Baekhyun who just came in

“Fine” Chen said and rolled his eyes as he walked to the front ready to bother Kyungsoo.

“Bomi I saved your day from being annoyed by annoying Chen” Baekhyun said with a smile

“Geez, should I thank you?” she asked sarcastically

“No, but tell me what you mean by your sentence earlier” he said, his face changed to serious, but even before Bomi could react Chorong came entering with a pile of papers in her hand. “I’ll wait for your answer later” he said and went to his seat, not forgetting to greet Eunji with a pat on her while on his way.

“Good morning my wonderful students” Chorong greeted “Now, do you know what are these papers for?” she asked the class, some shook their head and some answered no “Okay, today we’re having a quiz about last meeting’s discussion” she said and smiled at them, but the students just gave her a sum of whats and no ways and omgs and I-didn’t-study-what-should-I dos and all complaints from her students. Who would want to have a quiz the very first thing in the morning? “Stop complaining. Now get one and pass” she said and started distributing the papers.

“But Miss Park, we didn’t review” a student said

“I know, that’s why this is called a surprise quiz. You’re all surprised right? And I have already told you about surprise quizzes already right? And this is for me to know who really pays attention to class” she said sternly and the students just sighed and took the quiz.

As soon as the bell for lunch rang, Bomi immediately went out of the classroom avoiding to be caught by Baekhyun. She knew Baekhyun, that Baekhyun from three years ago was really stubborn and if he wants to know something he will do everything to find out. He will annoy the hell out of anyone just to know what he wants to know.

She finally made her way to the cafeteria without being seen by Baekhyun and took a seat the table at the farthest corner, Baekhyun and Eunji usually sat at the table near the door or sometimes they don’t eat at the cafeteria and eat at the garden instead so Bomi thought she won’t be bother there. But that was just what she thought, because not long after, three trays of food were put in front of her. Looking up, she saw Baekhyun with a grin on his face, Eunji who just lowered her head, and Chanyeol who awkwardly scratch his nape.

“Hey Bomi” the three greeted

“Yah Yoon Bomi how could you just leave us, are you that hungry to rush at the cafeteria without waiting for us?” Baekhyun questioned her

“B…Baekhyun m-maybe Bomi just wanted to save us this table, look if she’s not early here we wouldn’t have any tables to eat at” Chanyeol explained

“Yeah Chanyeol’s right” Eunji added

“Oh, really. Well that’s nice. You’re really a great friend Bomi for reserving a table for us. You know I thought that we are not friends anymore because we are not having lunch together these days”Baekhyun said

“There’s nothing like that” Bomi said

“Then what do you mean by what you said earlier” Baekhyun asked looking directly into Bomi’s eyes, also gaining the attention of the other two. They looked at Baekhyun and Bomi curious about “what” had Bomi said.

“Changes. I’m pertaining to myself acting like a lady now since I’m already 18, that’s why I don’t act that bubbly and all crazy now” Bomi explained “I’m done eating, I still need to go to the clubroom” she said and went away.

“I’ll be going too” Eunji said and stood from her seat

“Clubroom?” Baekhyun asked and raised an eyebrow

“Yeah” Eunji answered and ran out of the cafeteria

“Uhh, you can go now too if you have something to do” Chanyeol said

“It’s okay, I don’t have any club to go to, or do I have one?” Baekhyun wondered and looked at Chanyeol who was eating his lunch, the latter shook his head in response and continued eating. “I want to regain my memories” Baekhyun said and sighed

“Don’t worry, you will” Chanyeol said with a reassuring smile and tapped Baekhyun’s back. Baekhyun looked at Chanyeol, greatful that he has a friend like him.

Baekhyun then reached out his arms to Chanyeol’s face and removed the extra mayo at the corner of Chanyeol’s mouth using his thumb. Chanyeol was taken aback by the contact and widen his eyes, he looked at Baekhyun and Baekhyun also look at him in his eyes. “Uh, mayo” Baekhyun awkwardly said and wiped the mayo to a tissue and backed away from Chanyeol.

He didn’t really know why he was feeling awkward, but he felt something different when he looked at Chanyeol’s face and realized that his bestfriend was really handsome, making Baekhyun wonder why he doesn’t have a girlfriend.

“Uh, should we go back to the classroom now” Chanyeol, trying to be cool and not show his awkwardness, and Baekhyun just nodded

When they came back to the classroom many of their classmates stared at them meaningfully but no one said a thing. The two just went back to their respective seats and talk to some other classmates. One of their classmates entered looking stressed and went to her seat.

“Jieun how’s the club” her friend asked her

“Stressful. We have a lot to do; we are teaming up with the drama club and hold a musical for the school’s foundation day” Jieun said, she was one of the officer of the music club

“Ah Jieun” Baekhyun called her

“Why?”

“Uhm, where’s Bomi and Eunji?” Baekhyun asked. The two girls didn’t really said anything about the what club are they going to, but Baekhyun guessed it’s either music, drama or dance club.

“Why are you asking me?” Jieun asked back

“Well, aren’t they in the music club?”

“They’re not part of the music club” she asnwred

“Oh, then what club are they in?”

“I actually don’t remember them joining any club” Jieun said

“Those two don’t have any clubs, all four of you” Kyungsoo, who was listening to their conversation, joined in, and glanced at Chanyeol.

“Then where did they go?” Baekhyun asked himself and glanced at Chanyeol who was talking with Chen.

Chorong looked at the four papers she was holding and made a big sigh. She just finished checking the quiz of her students and the results were not really good. Half of the class failed, including the four. Chanyeol, well his failed score is somewhat rational, that brat doesn’t really like to study. Baekhyun, he’s an average actually, maybe he failed because he didn’t get to review. But she didn’t expect that even Bomi and especially Eunji would fail. Those two were smart. Eunji can even made a perfect score on a surprise quiz but now she failed.
