Jessica opened her eyes and found her head on someone’s lap so she immediately jolted up. “You are awake.” The girl got up and started to rub her legs, “Your head is much heavier than I thought. Do you feel better?”

Jessica looked at the girl and felt a bit embarrassed that this girl saw her breakdown and even used her as a pillow, “I am so sorry.”

“Humm? Why is that?”

“I made you stay late.”

The girl saw that Jessica was going into self-pity, “No need to worry. Are you ready to go?”

“Huh? Go where?”

“Home silly. I will walk you home.”

Jessica started flailing her arms, “No no you don’t need to do that! I am fine going by myself.”

“I don’t want you to walk in the dark by yourself. Hold on, I need to get my bike.” Jessica saw the girl disappear into the night as she fell back onto the bench.

“This girl is strange. Is she this nice to everyone?” Jessica was in deep thought about the mysterious Taeyeon. Never has she seen a stranger go out of their way to help her before. At least not unless....

“Okay let’s go!” Taeyeon grabbed Jessica’s hand and guided her to exit school grounds. “Left or right?”

“Uh right.” Jessica became fascinated by this girl that her eyes remained glued on the person. Jessica took in the entirety of Taeyeon’s facial features down to the petite body she had. Almost the complete opposite of Yuri but she found her attractive nonetheless.

The smaller girl didn’t like that they were walking in silence so she initiated conversation, “Umm so Jessica you have a sister right?”

“Ah yea she attends our school too.” Jessica was also relieved that Taeyeon broke the silence but that conversation starter didn’t last long. “You have any siblings?”

“A brother but he graduated already.” Taeyeon flashed Jessica a smile which made the other girl look away from her. The two kept walking until Taeyeon thought of another question, “What is your favorite food?” She facepalmed herself in her head for asking a weird and stupid question, but she was relieved that Jessica answered it.

“I like all foods. Nothing in particular. What about you?”

“I like Korean snack foods...ah wait I like ice-cream the most.”

Jessica let out a small giggle, “You act like a kid,” she said quietly.

“What? Why are you laughing?”

“Nothing. You are just cute,” Jessica said as she patted the other girl’s head before skipping ahead.

“Ya! I am not a child!” Taeyeon retorted while blushing before running to catch the other girl.

The two spent the rest of the walk chatting about small things and Taeyeon couldn’t help but be relieved that Jessica was smiling. She hated it when she always found her crying. However, Taeyeon couldn’t help but feel like she was walking a familiar path once they entered the neighborhood that Jessica said she lived in. Jessica stopped suddenly in front of a house. “I live here.”

“Are you serious?”

Jessica was surprised that Taeyeon reacted that way. Did she know something about the dragon’s lair? “This is where I live now...”

“How come I never saw you before?”

Now Jessica was beyond confused, “What do you mean?”

“Jessica you live right next door to me! That is my house.” Jessica saw Taeyeon point to the house to the right of the one she lives in.

“I ah...I mean my sister and I have only been here for one day. After our parents...I mean our house...”

Taeyeon felt guilty, for opening up old wounds, “No I understand. This is where you live now.”

Jessica was happy that Taeyeon didn’t want her to explain her situation...but wait, the girl lives next to her?! Was she happy or what is she feeling?

“If you need anything, don’t hesitate to come over. Or wait,” Taeyeon took Jessica’s hand and wrote some numbers down, “here is my number if anything happens. I know where to find you now.” Taeyeon smiled before making her way into her house.

Jessica stayed glued to her position and looked down at the number on her hand. She was still in disbelief that the girl who acted like her guardian angel was so close to her. It made her stomach turn...or is this called having butterflies in your stomach? Whatever she was feeling, Jessica couldn’t help but put a smile on her face before proceeding to enter the pits of hell (aka her home).

However that smile vanished in an instant when she saw what was on the other side of that door...

Very short chapter....I feel so bad for doing this to you guys but I wanted you to read something while I am busy. Sorry I haven't been in a writing mood since I got back from my small trip. I really have just wanted to sleep and not do anything which puts me behind on work I do in the real world.

I hope I can get the writing spirit back so you don't have to read another short chapter like this.
