The EXO members are sitting in a cordoned-off area at their gate, waiting to board. Fans are taking photos and videos of them; some of them sasaeng fans that had followed them from Seoul. As soon as Kris sat down, he opened his laptop. They've been going crazy trying to see, but he deliberately sat facing toward them so they can't see his screen.

jewellee: hey, what's up with the username?

Oops.

duizhangkris187: oh, it's just a nickname my friends have for me

jewellee: duizhang? can't imagine you being a duizhang for anything, giant. and I mostly meant the 'kris' bit. I can understand you calling yourself duizhang though, considering your ego ;)

Kris lets out a small chuckle and an eye smile as he reads your reply. Typical.

The rest of EXO looks at him, then at each other, as the fans' voices increase in volume. He rarely laughs in public.

"What are you doing, hyung?" Kai gets up from the airport seat and looks over Kris' shoulder as the latter quickly swipes his fingers across the screen. The unexpected movement has the fans convulsing.

"Nothing, just checking the weather for when we get back to Korea," he lies.

"So how is it?"

"How is what?"

"The weather," Kai looks at Kris like he's crazy.

"Oh. It's… hot? Yeah. It's hot." He's flustered.

隊長 (duizhang) is weird, Tao thinks. "Lu-哥, can you check the weather in Seoul for me?" He whispers to Luhan, who's on his phone.

"It's 20 degrees Celsius, Tao."

"What? Oh, thanks."

He's definitely weird.

            Meanwhile, Kris has gone back to Skype. He avoids your question.

duizhangkris187: hey, I'm very modest, okay? :P

           He hesitates before typing again.

duizhangkris187: and 'kris' is a result of a long period of time in which my roommate here kept getting my name wrong

           I believe you.

jewellee: just the fact that you have to say you're modest is saying something ^^

           what time is your flight?

duizhangkris187: we're actually boarding soon

jewellee: aw, okay. say hi to your friends for me?

            Nope.

duizhangkris187: sure

          they say hi too

            I doubt it, you think, when his reply comes too fast.

duizhangkris187: what's the time difference between Seoul and NYC?

jewellee: seoul's 14 hours ahead of here

duizhangkris187: that perfect recall (envy)

jewellee: *smiles smugly* mehrong~

duizhangkris187: T_T

          it's going to be a pain finding a time when we both can talk :(

jewellee: it won't be so bad

          we can talk in the mornings and at night

          I'm always free, remember? the problem will be on your side :P

duizhangkris187: yeah, I guess :/ I wish I wasn't so busy

          anyway, I've got to go

          talk to you soon! bye!

jewellee: annyeong~

duizhangkris187: (wave)

Kris shuts his computer with a smile, which fades slightly from his eyes but increases in strength around his mouth as he looks up and sees the fans. With a small wave, he joins the other EXO members as they walk into the gate.

"I'm going to miss it here," he remarks quietly to s, thoughts drifting to a certain coffee shop and the girl that frequents it, the refreshing feeling of normality she gives him.

"Me too. It's harder for sasaengs to follow us because they don't know the language," Luhan agrees.

A host of murmurs are heard as the rest of EXO agrees. 

Talk to you in 15 hours, 寶貝.

Sally, Rebecca, and Daisy are monitoring EXO's departure on a live feed by a fan on the same flight.

"Oh my god, Kris was being evasive to Kai when he was on his laptop-"

"Do you think he has a girlfriend? It says he was smiling and laughing!"

"Baekhyun is sleeping on Kyungsoo's shoulder! BaekSoo forever!"

"No! HunHan!"

You roll your eyes and say goodbye to Kevin before shutting your laptop.

"Guys, couldn't he have been reading a joke or something? Chill out, there are a million other reasons for someone to laugh." You roll your eyes again before lying down. At this rate, your eyes will point permanently at the back of your head. "And what the hell is BaekSoo?"

"It's an OTP!"

"What?"

"Never mind, you won't get it."

"Oh no, they're leaving!"

"NOOOO!"

You sigh and pull the covers over your head. Good riddance.
