"I can't help but notice you staring at me,
I know I shouldn't say this, but I really believe,
I can tell by your eyes that you're in love with me.”

"I made you a present with paper and string,
open with care now, I'm asking you please,
you know that I love you,
will you marry me?"

~ Terrible Things- Mayday Parade

"Umma, Woohyunnie made fun of me today!" A young Sunggyu complained as he looked up at his Umma, pouting.

"What did he say?" Sunggyu's Umma asked with concern staring at his pouting son.

"He said he want to marry me, and that I would be his pretty bride," Sunggyu answered as his eyes turned watery and his lips were quivering; he looked as if he was about to cry any moment.

"Silly Gyu! Our Gyu is so pretty, Woohyunnie likes you!" Sunggyu's Umma complimented as she Sunggyu's cheeks affectionately.

"But, Umma, I'm not a girl! He should be the one wearing the dress, Woohyunnie is pretty enough!" Sunggyu argued as he frowned, puffed his cheeks, letting out a breath as he crossed his arms, looking like an adorable hamster.

"Our Gyu is prettier!" The bundled up haired lady declared as she gave a pretty smile at his son, which made his son frowned back at her instead.

Sunggyu didn't understand what his Umma was talking about. To Sunggyu, Woohyunnie was prettier and cuter than him. He should be the bride instead- not Sunggyu. It was unfair to him how Woohyun snatched his declaration of marrying Sunggyu first. Since Woohyun took the courage to ask Sunggyu the question before he did, Sunggyu had to be the bride instead.

No, Sunggyu was definitely not going to be the bride. Woohyunnie was going to wear the dress and be his bride instead. Umma says that only girls wear dresses and Sunggyu is a boy. Even the television also showed that in weddings the girl had to wear a dress. Sunggyu knows that Woohyun was a boy but he could easily pass off as a pretty bride. The next day, Sunggyu acted strangely towards Woohyun when they had their lessons, ignoring the other. During their break, Sunggyu brought Woohyun to the side of the playground and forced the dark haired boy to be the bride instead.

"Woohyunnie, you will be the bride instead!" Sunggyu declared as he gave Woohyun a demanding stare. Woohyun was caught by surprise, Sunggyu have to be the bride- not him. Sunggyu was the pretty one- with beautiful porcelain white skin, small eyes that twinkled whenever his small lips carved into a wide curve. Whereas, Woohyun was too rough to be a bride; he wasn’t even pretty enough- he was meant to be the groom.

"No, Gyu, you have to be the bride!" Woohyun insisted as he ruffled Sunggyu's hair. Sunggyu hated how the other always ruffled his hair, making his hair messy. Sunggyu likes his hair neat, not messy like how it is now. He remembered how his friend, Dongwoo, always ruffled his dog's fur on top its head whenever he did a right trick. He felt like an animal after doing a right performance when Woohyun ruffled his hair. He frowned angrily and let out an 'Hmph' sound loudly at Woohyun's action.

"Fine! I will find my own bride, I won't marry you!" Sunggyu declared, glaring angrily at the other. Woohyun bit his shaking lips as he could feel tears b up his eyes after hearing what the eight years old have said. Woohyun felt like crying- Sunggyu was going to find someone else to marry instead of him. Sunggyu was supposed to be his bride, not someone else's bride!

Sunggyu could sense that Woohyun was about to cry. He felt very bad, but he really doesn't want to be the bride. "Gyu, you're my bride! I'm not letting you be with someone else!" Woohyun grabbed onto Sunggyu's small and thin wrists as he stared at him with teary eyes, choking back his tears. Sunggyu tried to fling off Woohyun's hands but failed to do so as the other held his wrists with an iron grip. The seven years old took the opportunity to peck on Sunggyu's lips as a tear escaped from his eyes, landing onto Sunggyu's face.

Sunggyu was shocked, Woohyun just kissed him- he took his first kiss. Sunggyu could feel his heart thumping quickly against his chest loudly, cheeks heating up as he blushed furiously. "Y-You, Nam Woohyun, how could you take away my first kiss?!" Sunggyu exclaimed angrily as he rubbed his lips using the back of his hands to get rid of the tingling sensation lingering on his lips. The younger could sense that Sunggyu was angry with him and when Sunggyu looked up at Woohyun, he burst into tears.

"G-G-Gyu, Woohyunnie is w-w-wrong, f-forgive Woohyunnie! Don't-t-t leave-e-e Woohyunnie! Woohyunnie don't want to be a-a-alone, Woohyunnie don't want Gyu to marry-y-y other-r people!" Woohyun begged the dark brown haired boy to stay as he held onto Sunggyu's wrists with a softer grip. Sunggyu stares blankly at the crying Woohyun, he was too shock for words. Why did Woohyun cry? He have never seen Woohyun cry- not even when he was accidentally pushed onto the rough concrete by Sunggyu when they were playing around and ended up bleeding.

"P-P-Please, Gyu! Don't be a-a-angry with Woohyunnie, don't leave-e-e Woohyunnie!" Woohyun's red puffy eyes looked into Sunggyu's small eyes as he begged pitifully. Woohyun can't seem to stop crying as more tears flowed from his eyes as he patted his heart repeatedly as if to show Sunggyu he was scared. Sunggyu didn't like to see the younger scared and crying- he decided that Woohyun looks best when he was grinning widely at him.

He wasn't able to resist Woohyun's request as he nodded his head, to show that the black haired boy was forgiven, before pulling the sobbing boy into a warm hug. "Don't cry Woohyunnie, what if you become ugly? If you want to be the groom, you can't be ugly, you must be handsome," Sunggyu Woohyun's back softly as he whispered into his ears, calming the crying younger down.

"S-S-Sorry, G-G-Gyu-u! Woohyunnie promise to-o be a good-d and handsome-e husband, so d-don't leave-e Woohyunnie for other people-e-e okay-y?" Woohyun promised as took a few deep breaths and calmed down when he heard Sunggyu's words. Woohyun never wants to lose the dark brown haired pretty boy or see him with another person. When he imagines Sunggyu marrying someone else besides him, his heart constricted tightly. It hurts him even more than falling on the rough surface of the concrete floor or even when he scalded his hands by the boiling hot water once. Sunggyu could only be his bride, if Woohyun couldn't have him, no one could.

Woohyun snuggled onto the warm embrace as he leaned against the crook of Sunggyu's neck, breathing in the lavender powder that older always applied. "Gyu," Woohyun called Sunggyu timidly. "Yes?" Sunggyu asked, waiting for Woohyun's response. "I love you, so you only can be with me and no one else, okay?" Woohyun confessed as he tried to claim the other as his. That was the second time Sunggyu's heart skipped a beat at Woohyun's words.- the first was when the younger took his first kiss.

Sunggyu used his fingers to lift Woohyun’s chin up and used his thumbs to wipe away the younger’s dried tear stains before pressing his soft lips against Woohyun's warm ones. Sunggyu could feel butterflies roaming around his stomach freely and his heart rammed against his chest vigorously. He swore he could hear the loud beating of his heart- threatening to jump out of his chest. At that moment, Sunggyu doesn’t mind who the bride was, because being with Woohyun was all that matters.
