One Shot (7): Bullied



Little Dongwoo never understood why he had two Appas instead of having a Umma and Appa. He doesn't hate it, but there are times, he wishes he had a Umma too- just like right now. "Look at his ugly face! He definitely inherited his looks from his two abnormal Appas," Hoya snickered as he spat on Dongwoo's face.



Hoya had two followers behind him, pointing at Dongwoo and laughing at him. Tears streamed down Dongwoo's face when the bully continued insulting Dongwoo's Appas. No one was there to help him as the bullies continued terrorizing the poor little boy by throwing the dirty sand on the ground at the crying boy.



Dongwoo couldn't do anything and continued crying until they stopped. "Come on, let's go, that stupid cry baby is going to bring us trouble," Hoya mocked as he walked away, with his followers behind him. Dongwoo cried even harder when he realized that his uniform was dirty and his knees were bleeding. Appa is going to scold me..... Dongwoo thought to himself as he imagined his Appa reprimanding him. 



"Dongwoo-yah, I told you not to play so roughly, look at your scraped, bleeding knees and dirty uniform!" Sunggyu shouted as his adopted son. Dongwoo have been coming home with more scratches, scars, cuts and dirty uniform. Sunggyu knew Dongwoo was a gentle child and had no idea why he played so rough in school. "Sorry, Gyu Appa," Dongwoo sobbed as he could feel his Gyu Appa getting angry. The last thing he wanted was his father getting mad with him. 



Sunggyu started to get worried when he saw his precious angel crying. "My precious angel….Why are you crying? Appa is not mad," Sunggyu said gently as he hugged his son and his back, calming him down. "Soorry-y...hahhh...G-Gyu-u…….Appa-a...." Dongwoo cried uncontrollably when he recalled how he wasn't able to defend his Appas when his bullies insulted his parents. "It's okay….Dongwoo-yah, why are you crying so badly?.....Are you okay?" Sunggyu asked in concern, first time seeing Dongwoo crying hysterically.



"Mhm," Dongwoo leaned his head against his Gyu Appa's chest as he nodded his head. His Gyu Appa was always so gentle and kind to him, treating him with love and care. He didn't want his Appa to be worried about him. Just then, the door opened and standing in front of the door was Woohyun, wearing all formal. "What happened? Why is my baby crying? I could hear you from outside," Woohyun asked as he stared at his crying son clinging onto Sunggyu. 



Sunggyu stared at Woohyun and put his fingers over his lips, shushing Woohyun, afraid that Dongwoo would cry even more. Woohyun nodded his head, understanding his husband's action as he apologized by mouthing 'sorry'. Sunggyu mouthed back 'its okay’, after that, he shrugged his shoulders and pouted. Woohyun understood Sunggyu's indirect message as he tried to tell Woohyun that he didn't know what happened to Dongwoo. 



"Come here, Gyu Appa have to cook, Hyun Appa will hug our big baby," Woohyun stretched his arms widely and gave his son a wide grin. Dongwoo looked at his other Appa and shook his head, not wanting to leave his Gyu Appa’s warm embrace- his Gyu Appa's hug always comforted him without fail. He dug his head even deeper into his Gyu Appa's chest. Sunggyu smiled back at Woohyun and waved his hands, signaling that he will calm their son down. Woohyun sighed and he walked away to change out from his stuffy suit. 



"My angel, look at Appa," Sunggyu said as he lifted his son's face up, looking into his teary eyes. "So handsome, don't cry okay? Appa will feel pain when you cry," Sunggyu continued as he wiped off the tear stains on Dongwoo's face. "Did someone scold you in school?" Sunggyu asked and Dongwoo started shaking his head vigorously and then look down on the ground. So, I was right.... Sunggyu thought as his heart clenched tightly, looking at his son. 



"Okay let’s pretend Gyu Appa is upset, I must show them that it's not right and I cannot continue to let them hurt me," Sunggyu spoke with a soft voice as Dongwoo slowly looked up at his Appa. He nodded his head to show that he understood what his Appa had said.



"Appa, what should you do then?" Dongwoo asked timidly. "I should stop them and make sure they know what they did was wrong," Sunggyu said as he looked lovingly into his son's fearful eyes. Somehow, the way his Gyu Appa look into his eyes, make Dongwoo feel safe and protected. 



"We have to fight for ourselves," Sunggyu simply said as he saw Dongwoo's puzzled face. "But.....Remember……We also have to forgive them," Sunggyu patted Dongwoo head as he kissed his son's forehead. Dongwoo seemed to be in deep thought. Suddenly, Dongwoo's eyes lit up, nodded his head and flashed a broad grin at his Gyu Appa. 



"Gyu," Woohyun called out loudly, trying to catch his husband's attention. "Uh...Sorry...Yes?" Sunggyu replied as he broke away from his thoughts. "What are you thinking about so hard?" Woohyun asked as he noticed how Sunggyu was staring into space. "Our angel, I think he got bullied in school," Sunggyu said with a sad look plastered on his face.

"He was so afraid I would be worried that he didn’t dare to tell me," Sunggyu whispered and felt his heart constricting even tighter. He couldn't imagine his precious angel getting bullied, it hurts him. Sunggyu could feel the stinging pain in his eyes, tears b his eyes. "I'm such a bad Appa," Sunggyu blamed himself, sobbing harshly as Woohyun pulled Sunggyu into a hug. "It's not your fault," Woohyun reasoned, calming the older down, just like how Sunggyu did to Dongwoo previously. Sunggyu explained the whole conversation he had with Dongwoo to his husband. 



"Is it be-ecause-e we-e a-are gay-ys?" Sunggyu asked in between his sobs. "Shhhhh," Woohyun placed his fingers over Sunggyu's lips. "Why are you crying worse than our angel?" Woohyun wiped Sunggyu's wet tear stains away. "I told you I hate it when you cry," Woohyun placed soft kisses on his eyelids and cheeks. Sunggyu started burning up by his husband's acts. "Woo-" Before Sunggyu could continue his words, Woohyun tightened his grip on Sunggyu's waist and pulled him nearer towards him before placing a kiss on his mouth to cut his words off. 



Okay, I can do this! Gyu Appa will cry again if I disappoint him! Dongwoo thought as he recalled how he accidentally overheard the conversation his Appas had the day before. This time round when the bullies surrounded him, he didn't cry and held his head up high as he punched Hoya right into his face when he said those mean things about his parents.



"Don't insult my Appas! They love me a lot, like how your Umma and Appa loves you!" Dongwoo shouted angrily. Dongwoo was scared and angry at the same time. His fists started shaking tremendously as he stared at Hoya with his fierce eyes. 



Hoya's two followers seemed to have disappeared when Hoya was punched on his face. The bully's nose broke as blood trickled down his chin, dripping onto the ground. When Dongwoo walked closer, the bully started begging for forgiveness, afraid that Dongwoo would hit him again. Hoya shut his eyes tightly as he felt Dongwoo moving closer towards him. The bully waited for the strong and painful impact, but nothing came. 



He slowly opened his eyes to see a hand stretched out right in front of him. "Come on, grab my hand and stand up," Dongwoo said as Hoya's shaky hands reached forward. Dongwoo pulled Hoya up as the bully couldn't believe that Dongwoo was so nice to him even after what he had done to him.



"Whyy-y?" The bully questioned as he stared blankly at Dongwoo. "Because Gyu Appa said to forgive," Dongwoo said as he gave Hoya a wide grin. After hearing what Dongwoo said, Hoya swore his heart skipped a beat. At that moment, Dongwoo looked so handsome to Hoya- just like an angel. In a blink of an eye, Dongwoo was gone. 



From that day onwards, Sunggyu no longer saw his precious angel with scraped knees, scratches, scars, cuts and dirty uniform. Instead, he saw his precious angel filled with smiles and a pure glow that no one could ever take away.

A/N: A new oneshot which I have think of long ago but didn't write it out. Yeap, Woogyu as fathers (even though they are so unpopular among kids in real life :/) I enjoyed writing this and I hope you all like this out-of-ordinary oneshot. Do you spot the yadong? :P Hehehehe. Okay, anyways, I'm having internship now till Aug, extremely high chance I won't be able to update so frequently as last time. :,( It's my second day only and I'm dying already!!! T.T How am I suppose to go through until Aug? And I'm really tired so pardon me for the grammar and poor writing.
