Happiness

One Shot (1): Everything We Had

You were the only face I'd ever known,
I was the light from the lamp on the floor,
And only as bright as you wanted me to be

But I am no gentleman, I can be a prick,
And I do regret more than I admit,
You have been followed back to the same place I,
Sat with you drink for drink,
Take the pain out of love and then love won't exist

Everything we had, everything we had,
Everything we had, everything we had,
Is no longer there

I'll be with you wherever you go,
Through the eyes of a fly on the wall

"I'm sorry Sunggyu, next time, I promise!" Sunggyu sighed for the umpteen times. He had no idea why he was so annoyed. It's just a simple rejection, not like it was the first time. Woohyun was busy and Sunggyu should have expected this response. Woohyun had a fantastic life.  He was qualified to play for the school soccer team, popular, rich and had a perfect girlfriend. Of course, he was busy.

Sunggyu was nothing like Woohyun. He hated sports; he sticks to his piano instead. He was not popular, people only know him as 'the guy that plays the background music for the musical plays in school'. He was not rich- he couldn't even pay his rent on time and was struggling with his part time jobs. He definitely didn't have a girlfriend because he was gay and he even kept that fact away from his best friend. Well, at least he remained the top in school for his perfect grades.

Sunggyu frowns at the suddenly realization of the vast differences between both of them. What did he even expect? Did he expect Woohyun to attend the musical play he was performing next month? Yes, for the first time, he finally decided to act as the main character- which was mainly due to his luck because the person playing that role had took an emergency leave and they were short of members.

"So, Hyung! Is Woohyun coming for the play?" Dongwoo asked excitedly, jumping up and down. "He is busy," Sunggyu gave Dongwoo a weak smile, trying to cover the fact that he was upset. Dongwoo seemed to have seen through Sunggyu's fake smile, he frowned. "Hyung, did you even ask him?" Dongwoo gave him a doubtful look. "Yes, I did. He said he was busy, you should-" Sunggyu explained but the stare that Dongwoo was giving him, cut his words off.

Sunggyu doesn't understand why Dongwoo is so mad at Woohyun for not coming. Woohyun was busy and Sunggyu understands that he was not his priority, so why is Dongwoo looking more disappointed than he was? "Hyung, he had never been to any of your plays. He always promises to go the next time, but when is the next time?" Dongwoo said looking extremely annoyed.

"It's fine, at least Hoya is coming!" Sunggyu smiled, trying to liven up the atmosphere. "Exactly, even Hoya is coming and that guy have absolutely no interest in musical plays," Dongwoo hissed, he couldn't hold back his anger. Dongwoo felt pissed at Woohyun. After he got into the school soccer team, he had changed. He distanced himself away from Sunggyu. Whenever Sunggyu ask him out or go see his performance, he would give the excuse of being busy.

He had been so caught up with the fame and being in the popular group of soccer players, he was avoiding his best friend- the one that supported him through before he was popular. Dongwoo was not the brightest child, but he was definitely not stupid. He could see how Woohyun purposely turns his head away from Sunggyu whenever he sees him from afar. Let's not get started on how 'busy' he is like how he claimed to be because Dongwoo happened to see him once ‘being busy’ inside the empty classroom with a girl his face off like a leech. Dongwoo could feel chills and he shivered at that horrible thought.

“Hyung, he is avoiding you,” Dongwoo blurted out without thinking. Woohyun…He is avoiding me? Sunggyu stares back at Dongwoo with a puzzled expression. Dongwoo sighs at how oblivious Sunggyu was. “He is not as ‘busy’ as how he claims to be,” Dongwoo muttered, rolling his eyes. Sunggyu continued to give him the what-are-you-talking-about stare. “Never mind, you will understand sooner or later,” Dongwoo said before walking off, leaving a clueless Sunggyu behind.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sunggyu thinks he understand what Dongwoo said when he caught Woohyun during his ‘busy’ time. Sunggyu remembered he left his script in his classroom. He rushed back, but what he didn’t expect to see was a couple making out in the empty classroom. The couple, especially the guy, looked oddly familiar. He couldn’t hold the soft gasp that escaped from his mouth when he realized that the girl who was kissing the guy so crazily was Jiyeon.

Sunggyu’s eyes squinted to see the identity of the guy clearer and only then he realized that the guy was his best friend. His heart drops a little when he saw the identity of the man. Since Jiyeon was the girl, of course the guy would be Woohyun. After all, Jiyeon was Woohyun’s girlfriend. Who did he expect to see instead? But, what he didn’t understand was the tears that were flowing out of his eyes non-stop and the stabbing pain in his chest.

No, it can’t be. Sunggyu knows this feeling way too well. He can’t be in love with his best friend. Not when his best friend was straight and already had a girlfriend. He shook his head from his denial. No, he is just hurt that his best friend was not as busy as he had claimed to be.

Without being able to take his script, Sunggyu messed up his practice and was scolded badly by the stage manager. “Sunggyu, are you alright?” Dongwoo asked with concern. “I’m fine, just tired,” Sunggyu replies, head still filled with images he saw previously outside the classroom. “I’m heading home first,” Sunggyu said, he couldn’t stand it any longer. The stabbing pain he felt hasn’t left him and all he wants to do is to go home and snuggle under his blanket. Dongwoo nodded in agreement and rushed Sunggyu to leave.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just when Sunggyu thought his week couldn’t get any worst, he was proven wrong. “I heard a rumor about you,” A guy with a rough voice spoke. “What rumor?” Another guy with a deep voice replied nonchalantly. That voice was too familiar; Sunggyu could recognize it straight away. He wanted to leave the cubicle, but he couldn’t. He had to wait for the pair to leave before he could leave. “Someone told me you are close to that Sunggyu dude,” The voice said in doubt.

“W-What?! I don’t even know him!” The other just exclaimed in shock. “How the hell did I get clustered together with a nerd and weirdo like him?!” The familiar voice spoke in disgust. “Have you seen what he wears to school? Even my grandfather dresses better than him. That guy is always alone or doing some weird musical stuff,” The deep voice said mockingly.

Sunggyu could hear his heart shattering, choking on his tears and his airways blocked. He placed his palms over his mouth and held back a sob. “I know, I was so surprised, but I guess it’s really just a rumor. I mean, come on, someone have to make up a better rumor than that. Right, Woohyun?” The rough voice chuckled. Woohyun then joined in the unknown guy, laughing in the toilet as if it were a funny joke. The cruel laughter slowly faded when the duo went out of the toilet.

Sunggyu slowly released his clammy hands and his hands dropped freely at his sides. Sunggyu couldn’t hold in anymore. His painful cries filled the toilet, echoing through the silence when he was left alone in the toilet. He can’t believe how stupid he was, to believe his best friend over and over again whenever he said he was busy. His fists tightened at the thought of how betrayed he felt. Nam Woohyun, you are such a liar. “Hyung, I learned a word today! Miss Song taught the class a new word today; she said that forever means for always. Gyu, we would be together forever!”

The moment when Sunggyu reached home, he went to straight to his bed and covered his blanket over his body. He curled on his bed and sobbed painfully, feeling the aching pain in his chest. W-What?! I don’t even know him! He dive his face onto the soft pillow, muffling his cries. How the hell did I get clustered together with a nerd and weirdo like him?! He tightened his grip on his bed sheets. Have you seen what he wears to school? Even my grandfather dresses better than him. He bit his lips to prevent the loud sob from escaping. That guy is always alone or doing some weird musical stuff. He lifted his head up and punched the walls in agony. I mean, come on, someone have to make up a better rumor than that. Right, Woohyun? He forced his eyes to shut tightly. I finally get it, I’m just a joke to you right, Nam Woohyun? Sunggyu opened his eyes as he stares at the dark red blood flowing out from his knuckles, staining the white walls.

Dongwoo stares at Sunggyu and noticed his bandaged hands, eyebrows furrowed worriedly. “What happened?” Dongwoo asked, giving Sunggyu a serious look. Sunggyu knew that he couldn’t keep the truth from Dongwoo because Dongwoo knows Sunggyu inside out. Sunggyu spilled the truth to Dongwoo, he told him what he saw, heard and felt. He never felt this miserable in his life. But, he was glad to have Dongwoo by his side. Sunggyu clutched onto his arms tightly, as if he was drowning in a pool. Dongwoo embraced the broken man in his arms, patting his back softly.  Sunggyu sobbed harshly as he dug his face onto Dongwoo’s chest, seeking for warmth and comfort.

“I’m gonna kill him,” Dongwoo declared as his eyes filled with anger. “N-No, Don-n’t!” Sunggyu cried, pulling Dongwoo’s arms, preventing him from leaving. “P-Please….” Sunggyu begged pitifully, he didn’t want to lose his only pride. The last thing he wanted was to see Dongwoo fighting with Woohyun. Dongwoo couldn’t do it, not when Sunggyu was pleading him so badly. He comforted the older as he his back repeatedly, anger within him slowly diminishing.

Sunggyu never talked to Woohyun ever since the truth was revealed. Sunggyu acted as if he didn’t know Woohyun- like how the younger wanted. If that is how he wanted things to be, then he would follow his wishes. He would pretend he didn’t know Woohyun, as if Woohyun didn’t exist in his life. If Woohyun wanted him to disappear, he would gladly go. If he wasn’t good enough to be his friend, he will back off. After all, he was just a nerd and loner who act in some weird musical stuff.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sunggyu runs, as fast as he could. Why didn’t I exercise more? He cursed at his shortening breaths. “Sunggyu, come to the soccer field quickly! Dongwoo- he heard Woohyun badmouthing about you!!” Hoya’s voice rang through his mind as he tried to run faster. When he reached the soccer field, he was horrified. There was a crowd in the field, forming a small circle surrounding Dongwoo and Woohyun. Dongwoo’s hair was flying around, eyes glaring at Woohyun, being held down by Hoya like a beast. “LET ME GO HOYA! I’M GONNA TEACH THAT BASTARD A LESSON!!” Dongwoo yelled furiously as he struggled against Hoya’s iron grip. Woohyun’s face was swollen, standing right in front of Dongwoo, looking as shocked as ever.

“Dongwoo!” Sunggyu cries as he ran towards the furious man. He helped Hoya to pull Dongwoo back as Dongwoo was about to break the grip Hoya held. “Hey, Dongwoo! Stop it!!!” Sunggyu yelled, trying to bring some sense to the younger. Woohyun just stares at the whole scene without moving, eyes filled with guilt. Dongwoo seemed to have realized Sunggyu have arrived and he could feel himself getting held tighter by the pair. “Why are you fighting?! You don’t even know this guy!” Sunggyu screamed into Dongwoo’s ears.

That moment, the crowd was silence and it was as if time stood still. Dongwoo’s angry expression turned into a puzzled one as he turned to look at the older. “You hear me? Why are you fighting with a stranger?” Sunggyu chided Dongwoo as he slowly let his hands off Dongwoo’s chest. Dongwoo understood what Sunggyu had said. He nodded his head and agreed to Sunggyu’s statement. Hoya slowly understood the whole situation as he released his grip on Dongwoo.

Sunggyu patted Dongwoo’s back softly to show him a signal to leave the field. Dongwoo gave Woohyun a warning stare for the last time before turning away from him. Sunggyu and Hoya didn’t even bother to turn back. Sunggyu stood in the center of Hoya and Dongwoo, arms hanging around them. Sunggyu smiled, he was happy that he still had two of his closest friends. Thank you Dongwoo and Hoya, for still sticking with me…..

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“You hear me? Why are you fighting with a stranger?” Woohyun froze when he heard what the guy with small eyes hidden behind the thick black frames, cap over his slightly messy red hair said. Their eyes met for that one second. That look that flashed over his face for a second- Woohyun decides that he can never in his life forget that look of disappointment. Woohyun didn’t understand why Sunggyu said those words and why he was behaving like that. He knows that it was better for him not to acknowledge the older in front of his soccer mates, but he cannot ignore the tug in his heart that he felt when he saw how the older ignored him completely.

Woohyun doesn’t understand why he feels so alone staring at the three dark figures, walking away from him when the group behind him was way bigger and definitely more popular than the trio. “What losers,” The soccer captain scoffed as he rolled his eyes. Woohyun’s fists tightened as he feels the urge to punch the captain who had just insulted the trio. Woohyun held back as he remembered he had no rights to do that since he had a fair share of insulting the three of them. The captain then turned and walked away with the group of guys following him behind like a bunch of lost puppies.

Woohyun’s stomach felt funny, like he was sick. He saw Sunggyu walking alone towards his direction. When he was about to do what he always did- pretends not to see Sunggyu and turn away to another direction, he realized that the older was no longer at sight, he disappeared. Woohyun’s heart clenched a little every time he failed to spot Sunggyu in the hallway. What Sunggyu didn’t know was that Woohyun would sometimes hide behind the lockers to look at Sunggyu’s daily expression whenever he opened his locker. It may sound a bit creepy, but that was how he checked if his best friend was doing well.

He always changes the direction he walks when he sees Sunggyu because he can’t stand the guilt within him for rejections he had made. No one can know Sunggyu, especially his group of soccer mates. He hadn’t seen Sunggyu for a month and he is convinced that the older was avoiding him, on purpose. He couldn’t stand how the older stopped talking to him, asking him out or even texting him. He misses his voice, laughter and his face. He couldn’t take it any longer, he had to see Sunggyu.

Woohyun always know where the older had classes at. He stopped outside his class and waited for Sunggyu to leave the class. Students started coming out of the classroom and was shocked to the popular Nam Woohyun outside their classroom. Woohyun just gave them a wave and showed his perfect smile, the girls squeaked in delight. Sunggyu, why are you so slow?

Sunggyu jumped in shock when the girls outside the classroom suddenly started yelling and squeaking as if a celebrity had arrived. However, Sunggyu continued to pack his bag slowly as he couldn’t be bothered with whoever that is outside. “NAM WOOHYUN IS HERE!!!” A girl screamed into the classroom as the girl who was packing her bag halfway gasped and ran outside to the corridors. What? Nam Woohyun?! What is he doing outside the classroom? Sunggyu decides to avoid the popular guy. He pressed his cap down to cover his face as he sneaked out from the back door of the classroom. However, his suspicious dinosaur-walking manner had been caught by Woohyun’s wandering eyes.

“Sunggyu!!” Woohyun’s voice echoed through the corridors. The older cursed inwardly as he started running to avoid the younger. Voices murmured as the students were curious how Kim Sunggyu also known as the weirdo know Nam Woohyun, the popular kid. Woohyun smirks at how Sunggyu started running when Woohyun screamed his name. He knew the older couldn’t run well as his stamina was horrible. He could chase up to the older within a minute. He couldn’t be bothered at the murmurs as he sprinted towards the running male.

“Damn it,” Sunggyu gritted his teeth as he ran faster when he realized Woohyun was chasing him. Woohyun was glad that he was a sportsmen because within seconds, he grabbed the man’s wrists tightly, not letting him go. Sunggyu was like a bird trapped in a cage, he couldn’t escape. Sunggyu looked away from the taunting dark eyes. He refused to show any eye contact to the younger.

“Don’t touch me!” Sunggyu snarled as he tried to shake off the hands grabbing on his wrists. “No! Not until you tell me why you are avoiding me!” Woohyun demands as he tightened Sunggyu’s wrists. “You know why!” Sunggyu yelled, as he looked onto the floor. Hold back the tears, Sunggyu…..Not now, Sunggyu….

Woohyun didn’t like how angry Sunggyu was and he didn’t understand what Sunggyu had said. Sunggyu had never been angry with Woohyun before- not even when Woohyun broke his favorite toy when they were young. He saw how hard Sunggyu was biting his lips with teary eyes. “W-What’s wrong?” Woohyun asked, feeling afraid of the older reply.

“Don’t act so nice to me,” Sunggyu could feel himself getting angrier at every second that passed by. “I saw and heard everything,” Sunggyu finally looked up at Woohyun, with teary eyes. “You being ‘busy’ and how I was just a joke in your life,” Sunggyu spat the words out like venom. Woohyun was speechless; he didn’t know how to reply- not when Sunggyu saw and heard everything that was never meant for him to know.

“G-Gyu,” Woohyun whispers as he tried to get Sunggyu to listen to his explanation. “You wanted me out of your life, all you had to do is to tell me, I would gladly disappear,” Sunggyu said bitterly. “You didn’t have to insult me like that,” Sunggyu continued, forming his fists into ball. “N-No Gyu, I-” Woohyun tried to explain but Sunggyu just shook his head. “Save it, for someone who actually care,” Sunggyu pried his hands off his arms as he walked away from Woohyun. Woohyun stood in the middle of the corridor alone, watching his only best friend stomped off angrily away from him. Gyu, please hear me out….. Woohyun wanted to scream, but he had no courage to do so. This was the first time Sunggyu have gotten angry with him and he deserves it.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Numb. That was the only thing Woohyun felt. Woohyun doesn’t realize that he was crying until he felt the cooling sensation on his cheeks. He didn’t know losing Sunggyu would hurt him so much. He kneeled on the ground like a pitiful man as he clutched tightly onto his chest. He didn’t know what to do; he never felt so helpless. Only when Sunggyu turned away from him, he realized something. He loved Sunggyu- more than he would ever know. He wanted to give up everything; he didn’t need all the fame, popularity and friends. What he felt previously, the superficial happiness was just temporary. His permanent haven was to be with Sunggyu, having Sunggyu by his side. Nam Woohyun, you are so dumb, you have lost the most important person in your life………

Woohyun quitted the soccer team and broke up with his y girlfriend. The only reason why he was with her was because of her brother who was the vice-captain of the soccer group. He was back to square one- just that this time round, he was all alone. He didn’t have his cute best friend beside him laughing at his stupid jokes. Sometimes, he would stop and stare blankly at the locker, imagining Sunggyu’s pouting face as he search for his textbook. There would be times, like tonight, he would find himself standing outside Sunggyu’s apartment and he would stare into the bright lights shining out from Sunggyu’s apartment. He would think back to the times when he would hang out in Sunggyu’s apartment until late night and then sleep over at his place.

Just then, he spotted a costume hanging outside Sunggyu’s window to dry- it looked like a costume that a musical actor would wear.  “Woohyun, can you come to my musical play next month?” Sunggyu asked in a timid voice, full of hope. “Next month? I would be having a match, so I think the practices would be doubled,” Woohyun lied as he looked at the mirror, adjusting the collar of his shirt. “Oh…”Sunggyu couldn’t help but let out a disappointed reply. “"I'm sorry Sunggyu, next time, I promise!" Woohyun replied quickly and shut his phone before running down the staircase of his house to meet Jiyeon, who was waiting outside his house. Woohyun wishes that he have the ability to turn back in time. If only he could rewind back time, he would definitely promise to go for his performance and talk to him through the night. If only I have known how stupid I was to turn away from you- someone who didn’t expect anything from me but only wanted me to attend your musical play……I hate how I have treated you when I was blinded by all the superficial people…….

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The day of performance was finally here, Sunggyu was all dressed up ready to perform. Since it was his first time playing the main character, he couldn’t help but feel butterflies roaming freely in his stomach due to his nervousness. “Sunggyu, you can do it!” Dongwoo pumped his fists into the air. Sunggyu laughed and nodded his head. The lights were dimmed and it was time for his appearance.

Woohyun was feeling nervous, he had no idea why. It wasn’t like he was performing; he was just here to see Sunggyu’s performance. The lights started dimming, signaling that the show was about to start. Everyone rushed to their seats and seated down comfortably. Woohyun felt his heart skip a beat and his eyes lit up when he saw Sunggyu came out onto the stage.

He was breathtakingly beautiful, with his fiery red hair styled, he wasn’t wearing any spectacles, and he had eyeliner drawn which enhanced his eyes, making it look bigger. Woohyun had never seen Sunggyu looking like that- he looked absolutely stunning. Sunggyu acted very well, his lines were said without any mistake and his emotions were well portrayed. Woohyun was so enchanted by the male; he had forgotten what happened a month ago. He felt as if they were still best friends and Woohyun just came to support his play, he felt so proud of Sunggyu.

Dongwoo spotted the familiar male wearing a long sleeved black shirt. He saw how his eyes lit up when Sunggyu stepped on the stage. He saw how happy that male looked, with that stupid smile plastered on his face- even when it was meant to be a sad scene. Dongwoo felt at lost, he didn’t know what to do. Nam Woohyun, what are you up to?

Woohyun wanted to cry when the play ended. It meant that Woohyun can no longer see Sunggyu and he was back to reality. He really misses the other so much; he just wanted to see Sunggyu a little more.  Before he could leave, Dongwoo drags him out to a room and shut the door. “What are you doing here?!” Dongwoo asked rudely.

Woohyun didn't know how to answer. He tried to hide and hoped that he wouldn't be spotted by anyone. However, his plan failed as he finds himself right in front of Dongwoo, being confronted by him. He just stares blankly at Dongwoo. He wasn't trying to give any explanation because he didn't want to give any excuses. He had enough lying to his friends and he didn't want to hide the truth away from them anymore.

"Dongwoo," Woohyun breathes as he looked into Dongwoo's fierce eyes. "I think I'm in love with Sunggyu," Woohyun confessed straightforwardly. He didn't want to deny the feelings he had for the older anymore. Every day that he had passed, knowing that he had lost Sunggyu, he felt the void in his heart- he never felt so alone. He hated how he could no longer hear Sunggyu's cute laughter or watched his eyes disappear into small slits as he grins widely. He hated how the older ignored him and didn't give him the attention he had yearned.

Dongwoo's expression softens when he realized that Woohyun was telling the truth. The way Woohyun looked at Sunggyu, the way he behaved after Sunggyu had left him. Dongwoo could see how much Woohyun was in a mess, how he looked like he misses the older by his sunken face and horrible eye bags due to the sleepless nights he had. Dongwoo couldn't help but pity him when he realized how painful it is for Woohyun to lose his best friend, even though he deserves it.

"It's just, I miss everything about him," Woohyun said weakly. "His smile, his laughter, his pout, his voice, his face, his everything," Woohyun continued as he gave a weak smile, forcing his tears back. Dongwoo decides that he didn't have any right to interfere; it was between Sunggyu and Woohyun after all. "Fight for him, if you really want him back," Those were the last words Dongwoo said before leaving. Fight for you? Do I even have the rights to do that, Gyu?.....

Fight for him, if you really want him back.... Those words repeated in his head non-stop like a broken recorder. Woohyun decided to ask for forgiveness- even if he had to beg for it. Even though it was going to be tough, Woohyun is going to fight for him, because Sunggyu was worth it. Woohyun barged into the changing room to look for Sunggyu. He was then told that Sunggyu had head back home. Woohyun wasted no time as he rushed to Sunggyu's apartment.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He stood outside Sunggyu's apartment like how he did previously. A cold gush of wind blew at Woohyun, causing him to shiver slightly. His heart rammed against his chest repeatedly as he felt his stomach churn in nervousness. Woohyun was scared, he feared Sunggyu’s rejection. He was afraid to anger the older even more. But, he puckered up his courage and knocked on the door.

After several loud bangs against the door, Sunggyu still didn't open the door. Woohyun thought that maybe that just meant that he didn't deserve a second chance. Just when Woohyun was about to walk away, a half awake Sunggyu opened the door. Sunggyu was dressed in his pajamas; he looked like he was woken up by the loud knocks caused by Woohyun. Woohyun cursed inwardly as he had forgotten how early the older sleeps. The messy haired red head in a crumpled cute polka dotted pajamas, rubbed his eyes and just stared at Woohyun tiredly, unable to comprehend what is happening. Woohyun swore his heart skipped a beat; he had never seen a more adorable Sunggyu in his life.

"Sorry, maybe I should come back another day," Woohyun said as he felt really bad for disturbing Sunggyu's sleep. When he was about to walk away, Sunggyu's hands grabbed his wrist. Woohyun stopped and turned back to look Sunggyu. However, he lowered his gaze in shame when he remembered what had happened a month ago. "Woohyun, why did you come here?" The older asked calmly, blinking his eyes. He didn't sound mad, just surprised because Woohyun have never been to his apartment without any invitation.

"I-I-" Woohyun finds himself stuttering when he tried to explain why he was there. "Come in," Sunggyu sighed as he led the nervous Woohyun into his apartment. Sunggyu's apartment was clean and simple, painted in sky blue, filled with all the necessary household products. The settled on the couch and Sunggyu just stares at Woohyun. He only realized how worn out the younger was, hollow cheeks, droopy eyes and slightly pale skin.

It hurt Sunggyu to see Woohyun like this and he wonders whether he was part of the cause of his tiredness. "I am sorry, really, I don't want to deny what had happened, but I come to realize...." Woohyun stops as he gave Sunggyu a glance. "All I need is you, I don't need soccer, I don't need all those people, I don't need the popularity," Woohyun answered sincerely, Sunggyu couldn't ignore how painful every word he said sounded. "If I lose everything, it's alright, if I have you by my side," Woohyun breathed as he finished his sentence.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sunggyu only realized how broken Woohyun was when he broke into incessant tears. He was curled into a ball on Sunggyu's couch, crying hysterically, mumbling incoherent words that sounded like he was begging for forgiveness. Sunggyu never hated Woohyun, it was a fact. Regardless of how much the younger had hurt him; he can never bring himself to hate him. This was how deep Sunggyu's love was for the younger. Seeing Woohyun crying so badly for the first time, Sunggyu decided to forget about everything that happened. He just wanted to console the crying Woohyun in front of him. After all, Woohyun had a strong persona. He had never broken down in front of Sunggyu like that before, not even when Woohyun's father passed away.

"Woohyun....Hyun..." Sunggyu pulled the younger into a hug. Times like that Sunggyu felt older than Woohyun. Woohyun only made those mistakes because he was young and ignorant, he didn't expect himself to lose someone so dear to him. He was afraid- Woohyun's weakness was always afraid of being alone. The younger grabbed onto his shirt tightly as he cried painfully. Woohyun was afraid, very afraid that Sunggyu would never forgive him- that he will be alone forever. He couldn't help but feel relieve when Sunggyu pulled him into a hug. Sunggyu's warm hug had calmed him down. It always had been you, Gyu; you are always there for me.

"Stop crying, Hyun, I'm no longer angry okay?" Sunggyu whispered as he could hear Woohyun calming down into soft sobs. "I forgive you, so don't torture yourself anymore," Sunggyu said as he the younger's cheeks. "R-Really?" Woohyun with red teary eyes and dried tear stained on his cheeks stared at Sunggyu with hope. Sunggyu only nodded at the hopeful younger. Woohyun's expression suddenly changed as he smiled happily and launched onto the older and hugged him tightly.

"I am so sorry," Woohyun apologized repeatedly as he was hugging Sunggyu. Sunggyu felt like he couldn't breathe when the younger hugged him so tightly. Woohyun then slowly released the hug and stares at the older. He was appreciating how Sunggyu looked; how pretty his hyung was with slightly red tinted cheeks and his adorable smile. Woohyun decides he didn't want to sleep and as creepy as it sounds- he just want to stare at the older through the night. That was how much he misses the older.

"I love you, Gyu," Woohyun confessed with his cheeks burning red. Sunggyu felt shocked at the sudden confession the younger had made, but nevertheless, his heart slammed onto his chest repeatedly at Woohyun's confession. "And I always did," Sunggyu's reply had caused Woohyun to squeeze him back into a tight hug. Woohyun thought he was crazy, or perhaps it was just his imagination. But, he knew he wasn't hallucinating when he shut his eyes tightly and opened his eyes and realized that Sunggyu was still encompassed in his hug.

"Hyung, since when?" Woohyun asked Sunggyu as he inhales Sunggyu's scent he had missed so much- the mix of cinnamon and vanilla body wash that older had always used. "When I realized how painful it was when I found out I was nothing to you," Sunggyu replied truthfully. Woohyun's heart stung when he heard what Sunggyu had said, he had hurt the older and he wanted to kill himself for that. He promised himself that he would never hurt the elder and would cherish him indefinitely. "How about you? I thought you were straight all the while?" Sunggyu asked as he buried his head into Woohyun's chest.

"When I realized how much it hurt when I hurt and lost you," Woohyun replied and shivered at that thought; he would never let history repeat itself. Woohyun played with Sunggyu’s soft and messy red hair. "But, you know...." Woohyun stopped his talking for a while before continuing, "I didn't acknowledged and dissed you because I was ashamed of you". Sunggyu moved his head and looked up into Woohyun's dark eyes. Woohyun looked like he was thinking of something very hard- his look was grim and serious.

There was a moment of silence when Sunggyu just stared at Woohyun, waiting for him to end his sentence. "I was afraid they would be interested in you. I was scared they would find you adorable and pretty like how you always were. I was really terrified that you would see them as better friend than I was and left me alone," Woohyun said in a fearful voice, his eyes shaking a little. Sunggyu shook his head at how stupid Woohyun was. He would never settle for anyone other than Woohyun.

All Sunggyu's self-consciousness was all for nothing when he realized Woohyun was just being a protective and scared friend. "Hyun, how the hell will they even go for me, I mean have you seen-" Sunggyu's words were cut off by Woohyun's lips as their tongues battled. Woohyun kissed Sunggyu fiercely and passionately. He was so aggressive; Sunggyu couldn't breathe and had to break their locked lips.

"What...That...You..." Whatever Sunggyu wanted to say came out in short words as he panted. "You're mine, I won't let anyone else touch you," Woohyun growled possessively. Sunggyu just shook his head again- at how stupid Woohyun was to think so highly of Sunggyu that he could attract attention of the popular soccer team guys. Have Woohyun even seen himself in the mirror?

Woohyun just gave Sunggyu a stupid smile which Sunggyu returned him a wide grin- the one he missed so much. Gyu, you don't know what other people said about you, how much they wanted to-. I wanted to punch them so badly, but I managed to hold myself back very well. But, from now on, if they have any thoughts about you- just any, I would make sure they wouldn't have the mind to do so.
