One Shot (2): Stay

Stay until my tears dry up,
Stay until you understand me,
Stay or maybe you can just wait a bit.

Stay as the main person in my memory,
Stay until I can see you,
Stay inside my memories.

Please keep a bit of warmth like this,
I already feel cold now that I'm alone,
Even you (even you) left me,
And nothing is beautiful anymore,
I already feel dirty now that I blame you.

Stay inside my dear,
Don't you come out my dear.

Stay my dear,
Give me strength and warmth, my dear.

"It's been long time huh?" Woohyun mumbled as he looked his shoes. There was no reply, only a cold gush of wind that howled back at him. He looked up to see the familiar small eyed brunet smiling at him. The brunet didn't speak, just nodded his head softly, agreeing to his words.  "How have you been?" Woohyun asked, heart thumped when he saw the pretty male in front of him. The brown haired male just gave him a thumb up, signaling a 'good' sign. Woohyun heaved in relief at how the older assured him that he was doing well.

"I miss you, so much," The younger spoke, pain in his voice, eyes shaking. The older shook his head as if to tell him not to miss him. "If only, that night, we didn't fight," Woohyun choked back the tears which were threatening to spill from his eyes. The older went forward to put a finger on his lips, silencing him. Woohyun just stares back at the older with teary eyes, trying to remember his beautiful face. He didn't know when was the next time he would be able to see the older.

Woohyun looked at how beautiful the older looked- like an angel. He missed his pretty eye smile, chubby cheeks, a cute button nose and that soft pale skin. This was so unfair, Woohyun wanted to cry. However, he was afraid, the older would leave when he cry. Sunggyu always hated a crying Woohyun; he didn't like to see the weak younger. Woohyun had always been the strong and tough one- never the weaker one. But, Sunggyu was wrong. Woohyun was only strong when Sunggyu is around. The older was his everything; he was his pillar of emotional support- his light, smile and happiness.

Sunggyu tapped on his watch, signaling that it was time for him to leave. "No, Sunggyu, please, just a while more? Please," Woohyun begged pitifully, a tear escaped from his eyes, rolling down his face. Sunggyu shook his head, he couldn't stay any longer. "NO!" Woohyun went forward to grab onto Sunggyu, stopping him from leaving.

Like a gust of wind, Sunggyu came and went off. A swirl of the chilly wind blew passed Woohyun as he shivered at the sudden coldness. Woohyun failed to hold the older- he disappeared. Woohyun only managed to catch the cold air in his palms, which hurts his heart more than anything. He knelt on the ground and weep sorrowfully. Woohyun was afraid he wouldn't be able to see the older anymore. A figment of imagination was better than a nonexistent one. He needed to see Sunggyu to keep his sanity. He needed his Sunggyu, regardless whether it was real or just his imagination.

Afraid and lonely- that's what Woohyun felt after Sunggyu left him. In the middle of the night when he sleeps, he reaches out to the other side of the bed, hoping to find Sunggyu beside him. But, all he felt was the cold and empty bed sheets next to him. Sunggyu was gone- he couldn’t come back and it was all Woohyun's fault. He misses the warmth from Sunggyu and how the older would curl up just right beside him. Woohyun would always pull the older into a hug whenever he was curling up so cutely like a child. Sleeping alone at night was the hardest thing for Woohyun. Gyu, you who promised to never leave, why did you go?

Woohyun feels the worst when he stands in front of the strong oak tree- the one Sunggyu loved the most. The older would usually spend his free time sitting under the tree and read his book. That was also the first time Woohyun met Sunggyu. The older was so immersed in reading; he didn't even notice Woohyun approaching him. Sunggyu jumped in shock when Woohyun interrupted his reading time and ask him for directions because he was lost. He remembered how the pretty brunet just smiles at him sheepishly as he told Woohyun the directions. Woohyun recalls how Sunggyu's hair shined golden brown under the sunlight, how his creamy skin glowed in the brightness and how his eyes lit up when Woohyun went back to find him at the exact same place.

Woohyun remembered how his heart pummeled against his chest furiously when he took the courage to peck Sunggyu's soft pink lips. Sunggyu attempted to hide his embarrassment as he covers his hands over his eyes, blocking his vision as his cheeks flushed flaming red. Woohyun then went forward to pry Sunggyu's hands off his eyes because he loves the flustered look on the older. He could never forget how adorable Sunggyu looks when he's embarrassed.

The only memory Woohyun wants to forget is that night they fought. He could never forget how hard the older cried, how vulnerable the older looked. If only that night they never fought, Sunggyu would still be with him, right next to him. He remembered how he threw the vase onto the floor angrily and stomped out of the room with Sunggyu chasing after him, crying.

He could remember the most taunting memory- the one that would have haunted him forever. The loud sharp horns and piercing screech that echoed through the quiet night. The next moment Woohyun was pushed away off the gravel road and onto the pavement with a loud crash behind him.

Red, dark red blood flowed endlessly, staining the rough surface of the road. He could never forget how Sunggyu lay on the floor covered with dark red blood that contrasted with his pale skin. His beautiful porcelain white skin was stained with his hideous bright red blood. Woohyun let out a painful scream, before running to the road and tried to wake the older up frantically but to no avail.

Sunggyu wouldn't wake up no matter how hard he shook him; he just lay on the road lifelessly. Someone, Woohyun didn't know who, dragged him off Sunggyu while he used as much strength as he could to struggle and fight against that person- wanting to hold Sunggyu and feel him in his arms. Sunggyu's warmth was something Woohyun couldn't let go. Woohyun tried to reach for the older but he seemed to have let the older slip through his fingers.

Woohyun doesn't remember how hard he cried when the doctor said that the older was no longer breathing and pronounced him dead. He doesn't know what pain was because all he could feel is numb. His light, smile and happiness were gone just like that- in a flash. Just like Sunggyu, he was dead the moment Sunggyu was. How is it possible to live without his other half- the one who was his everything?

The wet droplets gathered on the ground, Woohyun's sobbing didn't stop. He was scared and feared that he wouldn't be able to remember the older one day. His existence would just be an imagination. Nobody understood him- how much he misses Sunggyu, that pretty and adorable eye smile on his face. His knees bend on the ground, with his hands clutching onto the grass on the ground, he screamed in agony. Pain, anger and guilt were what he felt when he was kneeling in front of Sunggyu's tombstone. He was angry with Sunggyu's departure, felt pain from missing him and guilty for not being able to stop him from leaving.

A pretty pink flower floated in the air for a moment before falling freely down onto the ground from the tree and landed on Woohyun's lap. That flower was from the tree that Sunggyu had loved. It was as if Sunggyu was talking him, telling him it was not his fault- comforting him. Woohyun clicked his tongue and chuckled humorlessly, as if that mere flower would calm him down. He took the flower off his lap and crushed it into bits in his hands- just like how his heart felt.

He wanted Sunggyu back; he yearned for his touch, affection and warmth. He needed him back by his side and that was the only way Woohyun would continue to live on. A day without Sunggyu was just a nightmare. He leaned forward to the hard surface of the tombstone and then whispered softly "I will see you soon". The wind howled fiercely back at Woohyun as if it was angered by his words.

Red, dark red blood stained the wooden tiles. But, this time round, Woohyun wasn't afraid- he was reaching there soon, he was sure of it. He could see Sunggyu's beautiful face very soon. 'Gyu, wait for me, I will be there," Woohyun thought, smiling as he just stared at the dark red blood flowing out from his wrists. Sunggyu suddenly appears right in front of him- just like a dream and reaches out his hands to Woohyun. Woohyun used the last strength he had to reach out for Sunggyu’s hands. There was no longer pain and he could feel his heartbeat slowing down as he felt himself surrendering to the abyss of darkness.

"How long do you want to be with me, Woohyun?"
"Forever,"
"But, forever is a long time,"
"I only want to live forever, only if I'm with you,"
