(11): Dreams aren't always sweet (2/2)

“Myungsoo told me that he already informed you,” Woohyun looked away as he scratched his head awkwardly. Woohyun had never felt so unwelcomed before. Back in his school, he was pretty popular. Sunggyu immediately checked his phone. He cursed as he saw the message sent to him last night after Myungsoo left.

The brunet had a bad habit of not checking his phone. The brunet sighed. How could he miss that mischievous look on Myungsoo’s face the day before, not forgetting that stupid wink on his face when he said that someone would be visiting him soon. As if Sunggyu was supposed to know that it was not just a visit.

“Hyung, do you hate me?” Woohyun asked, looking dejected. Sunggyu looked up to see the sad puppy face. How could he hate the blue haired boy? “No, it’s just….I’m not used to having someone else in my house besides Myungsoo,” Sunggyu felt embarrassed as his cheeks reddened. “Hyung….” Woohyun muttered as he looked at the older.

Sunggyu felt his heart skipped a beat whenever Woohyun calls him. Does the blue haired boy calls everyone older than him Hyung? Why does he call Sunggyu as if he had already known him for years? “You really look like a hamster now,” Woohyun laughs as he held onto his stomach. The look on Sunggyu’s face changed quickly as he chases after the laughing boy.

“Alright, I am sorry!!” Woohyun bends forward as he catches his breaths, hands on his knees. Sunggyu would have stopped chasing the other even if he did not apologize, the younger’s stamina was too good for him.

The time of the day Sunggyu hated the most came. It was when the sun set- when the dark took over. Woohyun was laughing like a hyena and slapping his thighs while watching some variety show. “Hyung! Come here! Watch this with me!” Woohyun yelled. “No it’s okay, I’m fine reading my-” The book Sunggyu was reading was snatched off his hands. The blue haired boy threw the book away onto the floor and stuck his tongue out while dragging the angry hamster behind him.

“Hyunggggg! I am a guest and you are not entertaining me at all!” Woohyun whined as he forced the older to sit next to him. “Be a good boy and sit next to me alright?” Woohyun patted the older’s head. The brunet grunted when he was treated like a child. Nevertheless, Sunggyu accompanied the younger to watch finish the variety show when half of the time he was on the verge of dozing off.

“Hyung? Gyu Hyung?” Woohyun poked the older as he sees Sunggyu next to him dozing off. “Hmm?” Sunggyu replied, ignoring the fact that Woohyun had called with a new nickname. “If you are sleepy, you can go ahead and sleep first,” Woohyun smiles when he saw how adorable the older was when he was sleepy. “Mhmmm,” Sunggyu barely opened his eyes as he walked back into his room. Even though he knows that he was going to have a horrible dream, he was too tired to care.

Woohyun had never been an early sleeper. Well, he wasn’t exactly considered as a late sleeper too. It was just nine o’ clock. Do people even sleep this early? Woohyun’s heart spiked when he sees the cute brunet stumbling back into his room. How could someone be so adorable? At that moment, the blue haired boy clutched his chest and he swore he had never felt his heart beat so fast. 

The blue haired boy did not realize he had slept on the couch while watching the television until he heard some faint screams coming out from Sunggyu’s room. Woohyun immediately ran into the older’s room when he heard the sounds of the older screaming his lungs out. Sunggyu was sweating, there were tears rolling down his face as he curled into a ball in his bed. Was Sunggyu sick? The older tossed and turned, looking extremely uncomfortable. “Please….Please…” Sunggyu murmured as he continued struggling on his bed.

Woohyun went forward to calm the older down but to no avail. Sunggyu continued to cry as he started apologizing. The younger’s heart broke when he could feel the older boy’s fear. Woohyun wanted to kill the one in his dreams making him like this. At the same time, the blue haired boy wanted to hug the older. Failing to wake Sunggyu up, he went for the latter. Woohyun’s protective instincts took over as he hugged the brunet tightly, as if to shield him from his nightmares.

The brunet automatically hugged him in return as if he was his savior. The blue haired boy rubbed the brunet’s back as he managed to calm the older down immediately. It was strange how the older stopped crying the moment Woohyun hugged him. The blue haired boy could hear the brunet thanking him softly as he dug his head deeper onto the younger’s chest.

When Woohyun was about to pull away, the older frowned and clung onto him even tighter like a koala bear, unwilling to let the younger go. The blue haired boy shook his head, unable to move the older away from him. He finally gave in as he closed his eyes and slept next to the brunet.

The first thing Sunggyu felt when he woke up was warmth. Bright sunlight entered vision as he groaned turning his body away to avoid the brightness. He was shocked when he accidentally hit onto something hard. He was astonished to see that something was actually a human and even worse- it was Woohyun. The brunet covered his mouth as he could feel himself panicking, almost screaming.

However, he held back his scream when he noticed that he was still dressed. The most shocking thing was that ever since the accident this was the first time he had slept throughout the night so well. What happened? Sunggyu was unable to recall as he stared at the blue haired boy sleeping soundly beside him. The brunet was curious to death. Was it because of Woohyun, he was cured?

A pair of arms s under the brunet’s waist and Sunggyu let out an unmanly squeak. “What are you doing?!” Sunggyu yelled loudly, immediately detaching the toned arms away from him. “It’s a good morning hug, Hyung!” Woohyun gave a mischievous smile. The blue haired man knew that the brunet disliked skinship and decided to tease the older. “Get your arms off me!” Sunggyu warned with a stern voice. “Hmph….You’re no fun!” Woohyun released his hands as he fell back onto the bed.

The brunet let of a sigh as he stood up. When he was about to walk away, he felt a tug as he was pulled onto the bed. In a spilt second, Woohyun was on top of him as their eyes met. Sunggyu’s heart thumped quickly and felt his heart tingled when Woohyun moved even closed to his face. Too close….He’s too close… The blue haired boy smirked as he brushed off Sunggyu’s fallen fringe away from his eyes.

“You need a haircut,” At that moment, Sunggyu felt as if his heart was about to burst. If he did not like Woohyun previously, he definitely did now. The blue haired boy then pushed himself off the bed and walk away confidently, leaving Sunggyu’s heart in a mess. Just what are you, Nam Woohyun….

Woohyun sang happily in the kitchen and acted as though nothing happened in the morning as he started cooking. Sunggyu felt afraid to be near the blue haired boy. The brunet could feel his heart racing every time he went near the younger. He was scared that his feelings would be known- that Woohyun will find out how he felt about him. “Gyu Hyung! Come here! I made noodles for us!” The younger yelled as he saw the older sitting at the couch watching some repeated boring drama.

“Y-You can e-eat first, I will eat l-later!” Sunggyu stuttered and smiled nervously as he pretended to be engrossed in drama playing in front of him. “I won’t eat too, I will wait for Hyung then,” Woohyun crossed his arms and frowned in determination. Sunggyu sighed. He didn’t expect the younger to be so stubborn. The older had no choice but to eat together with him.

Woohyun noticed that Sunggyu had been acting really weird and avoiding him ever since the morning. Did the older felt uncomfortable after the skinship in the morning? Ah…Nam Woohyun, you’re such an idiot….No wonder Sunggyu have been avoiding you….. The blue haired boy cursed in his head as he suddenly recalled that Myungsoo had once told him that Sunggyu was uncomfortable with skinship.

“Hyung….Sorry for the way I acted this morning…” Woohyun gave an embarrassed smile as he scratched his hair awkwardly. Sunggyu look like he was taken aback by the younger’s words. “No…Woohyun…Its not that….I…I….” The brunet’s heart thumped quickly as he saw Woohyun’s face and was reminded of what happened earlier. “It’s okay, Hyung, I will be more cautious next time,” The younger shook his head and gave an reassuring smile. Woohyun swore he heard Sunggyu mumbled ‘it’s really not like this’.

Woohyun felt guilty as Sunggyu was being awfully quiet for the whole day ever since they ate the noodles together. He decided to give the brunet some space. “Hyung! I’m going to the newly opened club down the street with my friends, I will be home late!” The younger yelled, informing the older before heading out. Sunggyu sighed as he heard the sound of the door closing. Was he being too obvious that even now Woohyun was avoiding him? The brunet continued reading the book in his hands and tried to focus on the story instead.

The phone rang loudly repeatedly next to Woohyun’s ear. The blue haired boy groaned in pain as he could felt a splitting pain in his head. What the ?... Woohyun cursed at the person who called him. It was until he reached for his phone, he realized he was not at Sunggyu’s apartment. The blue haired boy was at his friend house, he could see Kibum lying on the floor half next to him. , he had drank too much….. His head hurt so much as the loud ringtone continued to play. Annoyed by the sound, he finally answered the phone.

“Yah! What took you so long to answer the phone!” Woohyun had to put the phone away from him as he could hear Myungsoo’s loud and angry shouting. “In case you haven’t noticed….it’s ing 3am here!!” Woohyun replied in annoyance. “Check on Sunggyu Hyung for me please, my eyes have been twitching so badly, I have this bad omen,” The other blabbered on the phone line. “….” Woohyun remained in silence. “Don’t tell me he is not with you?!” Myungsoo’s yell became louder.

“You said its ing 3am and you are not even there in the apartment?!” His best friend flared angrily. “Gyu Hyung is not a child, I am sure-” Woohyun replied nonchalantly. “ARE YOU ING KIDDING ME?! DIDN’T I TOLD YOU NEVER TO LEAVE HIM ALONE AT NIGHT?!” Woohyun was sure that this was the first time Myungsoo had really gotten mad with him. “I am sorry I didn’t know that a twenty four years old grown man can’t take care of himself,” The blue haired boy replied sarcastically.

“ you, Nam Woohyun, you know nothing about my brother. If I was in Korea I swear I will beat the out of you. I trusted my Hyung with you. You ing stay away from my Hyung and don’t ever appear in front of him,” Myungsoo ended the phone quickly and Woohyun cursed and ran his fingers through his hair in frustration. He was ed….        

Woohyun immediately rushed back to Sunggyu’s apartment. When he was on the cab, he recalled Myungsoo’s words and cursed even more. , why am I so thoughtless and dumb?........ The blue haired boy opened the door quickly as he rushed towards Sunggyu’s room. He could hear and crying sounds outside of the room. The younger barged in without knocking and he saw Sunggyu curled into a ball as he cried painfully.

The older had a hard time breathing properly as he had bad hiccups. What have I done?...... Woohyun shook the older up as Sunggyu remained in his position. The blue haired boy started freaking out when he saw the older having panic attack. Woohyun immediately went forward to pull Sunggyu into his arms and hugged him tightly. “Shhh….Shh….Hyung, everything is okay….Nothing can hurt you….” Woohyun calmed the older down. The younger’s heart ached when he saw Sunggyu’s face covered with perspiration, looking extremely pale. This was all Woohyun’s fault.

Sunggyu stirred and barely opened his eyes. The brunet swore he heard Woohyun’s voice. He could feel someone hugging him tightly and he felt at ease. “I am sorry, Hyung is sorry, please don’t leave me,” The brunet pleaded, he was afraid that the blue haired boy would abandon him like the way he did in his dreams. “I am not going anywhere, Hyung, I will be right here,” Woohyun replied, assuring the older. “Gyu Hyung, sleep, I will be here,” Woohyun whispered softly as he Sunggyu’s hair softly. He pushed the older’s sweaty bangs off his head as he hugged the brunet close to him. Woohyun swore to himself he would never leave Sunggyu alone ever again.

The next morning came and Sunggyu woke up feeling better than the day before. He was surprised to see Woohyun staring at him when he opened his eyes. The brunet blushed as he pulled the blanket over his head. “What are you doing?” Woohyun questioned as he smiled at Sunggyu’s actions. “You’re being too adorable early in the morning,” The blue haired boy tried to pull off the blanket but Sunggyu held onto the blanket tightly.

“I like you,” The brunet muttered softly under the blanket as his face became even redder if it was possible. “What?! I can’t hear you, you have to speak louder!” Woohyun grinned widely as he teased the older. “I said I like you!” Sunggyu confessed and he heard the younger laughing.

Feeling extremely embarrassed, the older turned his whole body and dug his head into the pillow, with the blanket hugging his body, making him look like a caterpillar. The boy haired boy pulled the older up easily as he pulled down the blanket, forcing the older to meet his eyes. “I like you too, Hyung,” Woohyun replied and gave a greasy smile.

And of course, Woohyun almost got beaten up by Myungsoo when he came back to Korea during his summer break. However, Sunggyu was surprisingly a protective boyfriend, stopping his younger brother and saving his boyfriend’s life.

No one knew why Woohyun’s hugs made Sunggyu’s nightmares disappeared. But, one thing both of them knew was that meeting each other was the best thing that happened in their life. They had yet to thank Myungsoo for that.
