Chapter 4
Waiting for My LoveTaemin looked at me and smiled. "I'm your friend, Key," he said. I smiled slightly.
"Yeah, I know, Taemin," I said. I just want to keep it that way.
The rest of the day was a drag. I went home and sat in the living room to do homework. "Kibum," Dad said behind me. I looked back.
"Hi," I replied simply, not wanting to start a conversation I would never finish. He stared me blankly, so I let out an exhausted sigh. "Dad, please leave me alone if you have nothing to say to me," I told him. So he left. I should've known how that was going to end. "Yep. Love you too, Dad," I whispered tiredly.
My phone buzzed in my pocket. I quickly pulled it out and answered it. "Hello?"
"Hi, is Kibum there?" Taemin asked on the other side. I chuckled.
"This is Kibum, Taemin. Why are you calling?" I asked sweetly. He giggled a little in his cute voice. I mean, regular voice.
"Hi, Key-hyung. I just wanted to call because I'm bored. My siblings are annoying me," he replied.
"You have siblings? How many?" I asked excitedly.
"Just two, a little sister and an older brother," he answered nonchalantly.
"Do you like them?"
"Hyung, they're annoying as hell. What do you think?" Taemin replied with a giggle. I laughed.
"Taemin! That's so mean!" I replied defensively with giggles in between.
"Hyung, you obviously thought wrong. I love them. They still drive me insane, but they're okay," he said, which made me giggle.
"I don't have any brothers or sisters, so I wouldn't know."
"I can be your little sibling! My older brother is terrible. Maybe you'd make a better one," he told me. A sudden thought popped into my head. I already love you more than friends, though. Being your brother wouldn't work out, Taemin.... OH MY GOD. NO. WHERE DID THAT COME FROM?! I suddenly frowned at the unusual and impossible thought. I DIDN'T like guys, I WASN'T gay, and I REFUSED to like Taemin more than friends.
"Nah, I don't think so. Your family would miss you too much! And my dad would.... freak out if I brought home a new little brother," I stuttered. I would've said that he would miss me too much if I left, but it wasn't true. He wouldn't miss me.
"Aww, that's not fair! I want to go over to your house and live there! Without my annoying siblings..." Taemin trailed off. I let out a chuckle. "Okay, bye, hyung! I have to go now! Bye!"
"Bye, little brother!" I replied, and I heard him giggle before I ended the call. I went back to my question: Did I like Taemin? No, of course not! But I have been thinking about him a lot lately.... He's my first friend in forever! Of course I'll think about him! But he is sort of cute....
Eventually, after my mind decided to end it's war, I came up with the verdict that maybe I had a teensy little crush on Taemin. Damn it.
"Who was that?" Dad asked. I looked back at him in surprise.
"How long have you been there, Dad?! Are you stalking me?!" I yelled at him.
"Who was that?" he repeated, so I rolled my eyes at him.
"It was a friend from school," I answered, annoyed, but he smiled for the first time in months.
"What's her name?" he asked mischievously. I didn't want to tell him Taemin was a guy because that would kill our conversation.
"Her name is Taemin. She has a guy's name," I replied, covering my story and giving a small but evident smile.
"You should tell me about her sometime," he told me with a wink. I smiled at him as he left again, promptly slapping my hand on my face when he was gone. God damn it.....
