The moment Kyuhyun stormed out of the library building and headed for the dorms, little eyes watched him from the safety of the shadows.

"He is alone, should we attack?" A voice asked in a hushed tone.

Bright violet eyes narrowed in on the brunet, as he strode across the lawns, anger radiating from each step he took and his clenched fists.

"No, leave him for now. We shall have him soon enough."

"And what of the King?" A second hushed voice questioned.

"He did tell us to leave the man alone." The first voice recalled, sounding nervous and cautious.

Violet darkened menacingly, "He does not understand the implications of being around that man. He will be saved from this wretched life."
 

Kyuhyun tossed and turned in bed that night, unable to get to sleep with Sungmin's voice ringing in his head.

"Okay then, tell me why the pixie wanted to kill me."

Sungmin nibbled on his bottom lip, looking deep in thought before he finally raised his eyes to look at Kyuhyun.

"I don't have an answer to that."

Kyuhyun slammed the books shut, causing some people to glare at him for causing a scene, but he paid them no attention, "What do you mean you don't have an answer to that? You just said you could answer any questions that I have and now you don't have an answer for the most important one?" Sungmin cowered in his seat, as Kyuhyun stood up and left without another word.

He slammed his fist into his pillow, panting in frustration and willing the angry tears away. He couldn't possibly understand what was happening with Sungmin and why he was being targeted by these pixies, but he had to get to the bottom of it and fast, or else it'd most likely haunt him forever. He was so caught up in his thoughts, that Kyuhyun didn't hear his bedroom window open and didn't register the other presence in the room, before everything went black.
 

Sungmin woke the next morning, feeling like something wasn't quite right. Not being able to think of anything specific, he put it down to Kyuhyun's anger from yesterday and sniffled quietly. He wished more than anything that he could have answered Kyuhyun's question, but the truth was that he didn't even know himself. The sudden appearance of the pixie (a thing he thought to have believed only existed in dreams), had confused him to no end.

Deciding it wouldn't do to mope around in bed, Sungmin forced himself up and out of the warmth of his blankets. Winter was fast approaching and with it frigid temperatures attacked in the early morning and late evenings. He shivered when his bare feet hit the cold floorboards, but forced himself to move and headed to the bathroom. He saw Kyuhyun's door was still closed and Sungmin sighed, having not seen or spoken to him since he'd stormed out of the library.

Shaking his head, Sungmin made his way into the bathroom and shut the door. He stared at himself in the mirror for a moment, taking in the bright emerald eyes, the m shaped lips, the flawless skin of one cheek and the raised scars on the other. Those marks made his otherwise baby face look old. Tracing them lightly with his middle finger, Sungmin remembered Kyuhyun's face when he'd woken up after it'd happened.

He'd looked so worried and upset that it had almost broken Sungmin's heart.

Slapping his face lightly, Sungmin woke himself up with cold water and went about his usual morning routine. He showered leisurely, drying himself quickly to avoid the cold and applied his daily moisturisers and acne prevention. Once he was dressed and presentable for class, Sungmin went to see if Kyuhyun was awake.

Sungmin knocked on the closed door hesitantly, not sure if Kyuhyun was still mad over yesterday or not. He waited for a few moments and knocked again, "Kyuhyun? Come on, you're gonna be late for class. Are you up?" Usually whenever Sungmin woke Kyuhyun up of a morning, he would get some form of gutteral noise to let him know Kyuhyun had heard him, or at the very least he could hear him moving around. When Sungmin heard absolute silence behind the door, he opened it slowly.

"Kyuhyun? Did you hear me? I said you're gonna be la-"

Sungmin froze as the door swung wide open.

The room was a mess, with papers from Kyuhyun's desk scattered everywhere from the wind blowing through the wide open window, the sheets were flung in all directions and there was blood and dirt on the window-sill. Kyuhyun never left his window open of a night and he only opened it halfway when he went to class, something Sungmin berated him about because what if a burglar got in? Kyuhyun had always laughed at him and questioned if he would be willing to climb 6 floors outside a building.

But none of that mattered now, because as Sungmin ran through the dorm screaming loudly (enough for people in other rooms to hear) for Kyuhyun and not hearing a single noise other than his own, Sungmin burst into tears just as Hyukjae and Donghae ploughed through the door.

Kyuhyun was gone.


 

Short update for you guys~!

I'm trying to see where this story is going, but it keeps changing itself in my head and so I need to find a path that I'm comfortable with this story heading down and stick to it. Hopefully you guys will like the one I choose too~

I'm trying to get into the routine of updating regularly, but with so many stories happening at once, it's getting a little bit hard to keep up with updating all of them at regular intervals, so I hope you all stay patient with me~!
