Dying.

He was dying for sure. Nothing else but his heart was pounding and the boy was pretty sure that the reasons students were looking at him weirdly was because they could hear it.

L.joe wasn’t exactly the type that was this unprepared for something. For some reason, L.joe couldn’t help but go a deep shade of red when the words ‘date’ and ‘Changjo’ came up. He had gotten that a lot from Chunji in the past hours. “Excuse me” L.joe said to a girl that was standing in front of his science classroom.

“Excuse you.” Taken aback, the male gave her this ‘what did you just say’ look.

“Could you move?”

“No, I don’t want to” Her smile was so fake that L.joe was disgusted. “Why don’t you move yourself?” Being quite short tempered, L.joe couldn’t take her stupidity anymore. Was she really playing like this just because he wanted to go through the door?

“Listen up, girlie. I want to get through that door to my lesson so be an angel and move your fat self out of the way” He gave a forced smile to her as she stood baffled. Then he shoved her back so he could just about get in. “Serves her right”

At least that took his mind off Changjo for a while.

It was not surprising when C.A.P found himself with Changjo alone in the clubroom. What did surprise C.A.P was that he wasn’t very tired today and sleep wasn’t flowing over him like it usually did. “I’m shocked you’re not asleep” Changjo said eyeing his phone and taking a look at C.A.P.

“I shocked myself too. I’m going to use to bathroom”

“Nice talking to you too” Changjo said as C.A.P walked off giving a little wave to Changjo before disappearing into the bathroom.

It was definitely the end of first period and Changjo was kind of hoping someone would come and end his boredom. “Where did C.A.P go?”The young boy questioned himself.

Just then, the door slammed open to reveal L.joe sweating and panting as if he had come back from a marathon. “Oh my gosh”

“What happened?”

“Animals!” L.joe took a seat in front of Changjo, their knees rubbed together to which made Changjo smile a little. “I don’t even know what was going on but when the bell ran, I was carried from outside my science class to over here. The students were running and shoving everyone foreword”

“You hurt?”

“Huh?” The older was confused since nothing really processed through his mind.

Changjo sighed and came dangerously close to L.joe only to hold him by the shoulders and look at him in the eyes. The younger thought that this would probably be his only chance to make L.joe flush that much before their date. Taking a shot, Changjo reached for the shorter males hands. “Are you hurt?”

“Uh...”

It seemed like C.A.P came back from his journey back from the bathroom. The eldest had a thing for coming at the wrong moments. “Oh Chunji’s going to love this...” He muttered before taking out his phone to steal the moment away with a picture.

“I-I’m not hurt” As well as loving the moment, L.joe wanted to smack that small smirk off Changjo’s face because the younger knew exactly what he was doing to L.joe.

“Cool”

Just like that, Changjo pulled away to lean back on the couch of theirs. The younger was sharp with his surroundings as he instantly noticed the small pout on L.joe’s face. “Why are you pouting?” He asked. Although Changjo already understood why the older was pouting like that, he just wanted to hear it for himself.

“I’m not pouting!”

“Then what are you doing now?”

“...Making a face”

Changjo let it slide since he wasn’t planning to attack the elder. “Anyways, what kind of food places do you like to eat at?”

“Why?” L.joe questioned tilting his head to the side cutely.

“Did you forget about our date?” The short male went as red as a tomato when he heard the word ‘date’. Sure it sounded silly but L.joe had never exactly been like this before so this was sort of new to him.

“No! It just slipped out for a bit” L.joe quickly answered without hesitation. He wouldn’t want Changjo to think that the one thing that actually got him out of bed was forgotten. “I’m not too picky, so I wouldn’t really mind”

“Hmm... I was thinking of that cafe across the road”

“That’s fine then” The older male gave a warm smile to have Changjo reflect it back. “Umm...” Changjo’s raised eyebrow told L.joe that he was waiting for the rest of his sentence. “Nothing!” L.joe quickly said.  Not questioning any further, Changjo lay back and looked back at his phone before placing it on the table in front on him.

“I’m going to go get my grade for a project I did”

“Okay”

As soon as Changjo left, L.joe grabbed the younger’s phone and tried to unlock it. “Why does there have to be a password to this” The boy groaned and looked at the phone hoping that it would give him the password. C.A.P who had come back from his secret spot, sat down next to L.joe.

“There’s this cool good looking guy that knows his password. He’s in our club”

“But our club only has me and Changjo that are good looking and cool...”

C.A.P sat dumbfounded by L.joe. He was pretty good looking and his mother said he was cool...

“I meant me you troll!” The eldest yelled. “I’m not sleepy for once and I have nothing better to do than help you”

L.joe gave him a quick hug before giving the older Changjo’s phone. “Quickly! I don’t want him to come back before I see”

“Be grateful for once you midget”

When the phone finally unlocked, L.joe rushed through to check every app that he thought could hold information about Changjo. Whilst C.A.P was just watching, he started thinking about how big of a stalker L.joe was.

“Oh my...”

“What now”

“C.A.P, he has pictures of me on his phone”

C.A.Ps eyes went wide as he grabbed the phone. The wide eyes went down instantly and C.A.P shoved the phone back into L.joe’s hands. “Dude, its one photo”

“But still...” L.joe whined. One picture was enough to make him go crazy. Maybe this was why Chunji said he needed to: Take a chill pill. At that point, L.joe thought Chunji was on his regular sugar rush.

“You really like him” C.A.P said. Just as L.joe was going to say something, the door opened.

“Really like who?” Changjo, Ricky and Chunji said together. Ricky and Chunji must’ve finished their lessons and had decided to come back.

“I really like this um... necklace!” L.joe said. Anyone would’ve been able to tell that he was lying.

“Ooooh! Let me see!” Chunji ran up to him and took the phone out of L.joe’s hands. He had realised that the phone was not his best friends. “This isn’t yours”

Ricky and Changjo began to crowd around L.joe.  However the small boy wouldn’t make eye contact with Changjo, instead he pursed his lips trying to hide the embarrassment. “It’s mine” Changjo said taking a hold of his phone. “You know... you can just ask if you want to see it” He laughed a little and gave it back to L.joe. “I’ll text you the password if you want”

Changjo’s smirk just made L.joe erupt in laughter. Chunji looked so confused that it seemed as if he couldn’t keep up with what was going on. “You two act like you’re so in love. I thought L.joe was going to end up forever alone with his past of tormenting little children”

“Chunji” L.joe warned but to his dismay Chunji blabbered on.

“There was this time when we were buying ice-cream from the van and this kid skipped the line. You should’ve seen his face when L.joe was yelling at him.”

“Chanhee-”

“L.joe called the poor kid a “monstrous abomination to ice-cream’” Chunji finished and C.A.P sat back impressed at L.joe’s choice of words.

“Lee Chanhee.”

“Yes?”

“Stop” The message was sent to Chunji when L.joe’s eyes moved in the direction of Changjo was was immersed with whatever was on his phone.

L.joe couldn’t help but wonder what was that great about his phone.

After all there was nothing much when L.joe checked.

“So L.joe was a bully to young children?” Ricky chirped in and L.joe felt like he was doing it just to annoy him.

“I was not!”

Changjo who was paying attention now was hoping that this wouldn’t become a pointless argument.

“You were!”

“No I wasn’t!”

“Kids” C.A.P sternly interrupted the small quarrel. “Now now... let’s not fight”

“Shut it meat bag” L.joe’s voice was followed by a “yeah” from Chunji. C.A.P however was taken back and a shocked expression was across his face as his leaned back in his seat. The elder took out his phone and muttered something along the lines of ‘disrespectful brats’ before busying himself with his phone. “Chunji I’m hungry”

“Me too” Just like that the two finishing bickering and began to make their way to the kitchen. Even though just a few weeks were gone since Changjo had joined, lots of things still amazed him about the individuals in the club.

Science had finished for L.joe however this time the teacher didn’t pick on him for questions he obviously didn’t know since they just started learning about it. An awful feeling suddenly made the male think something bad was bound to happen. As soon as L.joe would get back to the club room, Changjo would then take him out for their date.

Oh no. L.joe thought. What if I end up spilling coffee on him...? Well it’ll be his fault for getting in the way then...

Before he walked into the door like an idiot, a hand grabbed him to pull him away.  “Should we get going?” L.joe’s somewhat most loved yet most hated voice snapped him out of the trance that he was just in. Looking up to see Changjo’s orbs staring directly back at him made him warm. “L.joe?”

“Uh yeah” They both started walking out of the hallways in silence. L.joe quickly stole a glance at Changjo who was staring straight ahead. The younger boy looked like he was contemplating on something.

Once outside of school, L.joe felt something soft touch his right hand. It took L.joe a millisecond to realise that Changjo was trying to make the older hold his hand. Maybe that was what he was debating on doing. Accepting with red ears, L.joe smiled and watched as their hands entwined together.

Sure it was silent but it was strangely comfortable.

When they reached the small cafe, Changjo smiled and they sat at a table. “Why did we leave earlier?” L.joe asked just wondering about that since the two were going to meet in the clubroom.

“I wanted to see you earlier” Changjo smirked at the older that surprisingly didn’t flush as bright as Changjo thought he would.

“Ha ha. Real funny” When Changjo made a heart L.joe just had to explode into a fit of laughter.

“What do you want?”  They were finally going to order their food and L.joe scanned the little menu, avoiding the coffee section on purpose.

“I want the chocolate cheesecake and...” He paused for a brief moment. “Vanilla flavoured bubble tea” Changjo nodded and sent a cheesy wink before going to order the food. Even if L.joe knew that Changjo was probably messing with him, he couldn’t help liking the boy just an extra more.

“So...” Changjo started. “Do you like chocolate cheesecake?”

“Yeah!” L.joe looked so elated when the mention of chocolate cheesecake came up, this gave Changjo an idea.

“Would you love if I brought you it every day?”

“Yes!”

That put one more item on Changjo’s shopping list.

“I just had a science test” L.joe pouted whilst Changjo laughed.

“I remember the first time we met and you got like the worst mark”

“I wasn’t in the mood that day!”

“Yeah right”

“You can ask anyone, I wasn’t focused for that test and the one before that too” L.joe tried to defend himself but it was no use as Changjo kept teasing him about his rubbish results.

“I can’t wait to see what you get this time then”

For what seemed like eternity they talked about things that both of them liked and asked questions they had wanted to know. Out of the two, no one decided to ask if they liked someone. “I’m going home early today since I have a dentist appointment” Changjo said staring deeply into L.joe’s eyes just like the other was doing.

“So you’re leaving after this?”

“Yeah, but I have something I have to do just before I go” L.joe raised an eyebrow wondering what Changjo could possibly have to do. He was even more confused and scared when Changjo leaned across the table and closed his eyes. L.joe’s eyes widened once he realised that Changjo was in fact leaning for a kiss.

Ohmygod.

L.joe shut his eyes tight and waited for the kiss to come. But when soft lips just about touched his forehead, the older opened his eyes. Changjo pulled away and smiled softly before standing up. “I should go now...”  L.joe was a deep shade of red and Changjo could only think about how that kiss on the forehead took so much courage. “Bye Byunghun”

“Bye-”

“Jonghyun”

With that Changjo walked out leaving a grinning L.joe.

“Every day with him just gets better” L.joe said to himself before hurrying back to inform Chunji of what just happened. That was their second ‘kiss’.
