We're All Crazy Here
“Take Care of My Boyfriend”“So, what you’re saying, is that now not only you can hear Chaelin, but you can also see her?” Doctor Zhang stopped in the middle of his tracks only to stare at me through his geeky glasses.
I only nodded, not able to bring myself to admit it out loud once again. I was, by all means and medical definitions, good to be tied up and locked in some sanatorium, away from civilization.
“And she’s… here? Now?” He continued to walk around the room, deeply lost in his thoughts.
I didn’t need to look around me to know that she was still there, legs glamorously crossed on the black leather armchair, resting her left temple on her index and middle finger as she continued chewing gum in a way that indicated just how amused she was by the whole situation. Yes, I didn’t need to look in her way to know she was there, mocking all medical theories about the aspects of life after death!
“This is unbelievable!” The doctor’s enthusiastic tone made me retreat an inch on my seat.
“What? The fact that now I’m indeed sounding as if I just got out of the cuckoo’s nest? Doctor, isn’t there some sort of pill I could take or something?”
“No, no!” He shook his head vehemently. “Seon Yul, can’t you see? If this is really happening, this could be a new step in all we thought is real! It means there is more to us than just this flesh carcass! It means there is life after death!”
Now, as a psychiatrist, he surely sounded crazier than me! “Doctor, I’m afraid I don’t follow you,” I chose a diplomatic way. “This is not real! She–” I was stop by the waves of disagreement coming from the other side of the room, “Chaelin is not here,” I whispered leaning forward. “She is the product of my sick and probably guilty mind! It’s impossible that you even consider the possibility of her being real!”
‘Excuse you?!’ Chaelin cut in my speech, making me close my eyes in annoyance. ‘The fact that you don’t believe in me does not classify me as non-existent, alright? C’mon! Even your doctor tends to think that I’m real rather than sent you to the madhouse.’
“Yeah, because he’s just as crazy as I am, that’s why!” I hissed back.
“What? What is she saying?” Doctor Zhang stopped in front of me, eyes sparkling in excitement.
“She is. – no! I’m not doing this!” I frowned and stood up from my place, sustaining my weight with the crutches. “I will not pay all the money to see a doctor that is crazier than me! I need to get better! I need to get over her death in order
