Intern ShenanigansYixing was sitting at his desk organizing some papers when Luhan slid past his peripheral vision. He quickly moved his papers to the side before Luhan took a seat on his desk.
“Yixing! Let’s go get some lunch!” Luhan motioned eagerly towards the door.
Yixing looked up at Luhan with a blank expression.
“I already ate,” he simply replied, and Luhan’s bright face changed to a look of distraught.
“Intern, I am hurt!” Luhan placed a hand on his chest in pretend pain. “How could you have gone to eat without me?”
Yixing got up from his chair to put away the documents in a filing cabinet while Luhan whiningly followed behind him. He had intended to get lunch with Luhan after Luhan came back from talking with a client, but Yixing’s appetite had betrayed him and he ate before Luhan had returned.
“Well I guess I’ll be going out by my lonesome self then…” Luhan glumly made his way to the door.
Yixing muttered another small “sorry” before Luhan walked out. Normally, Yixing enjoyed the few moments when the office was quiet, as he could get around to doing various work. Right now though, the silence was a little deafening, so Yixing the small radio in the room and waited patiently for Luhan to come back.
He ended up falling asleep on his desk again, and woke up to something cold pressing against his cheek. He jumped up in surprise and heard Luhan laughing loudly in front of him.
“Sleeping on the job, intern?” Luhan raised an eyebrow at Yixing, who tried to suppress a yawn.
“Welcome back,” Yixing said in a still-sleepy tone.
After blinking himself back awake, Yixing noticed that Luhan was holding a bubble tea in each hand. ‘The bubble tea ahjumma must have given him a free one again,’ he thought to himself, but immediately retracted that statement after Luhan held out one of the bubble teas to him.
“I expect compensation for this, Intern,” Luhan said as Yixing took the bubble tea from his hand.
“Ah…thank you…” Yixing softly replied before taking a sip.
“It’s okay,” Luhan smirked. “You can just take me out to dinner later.”
Yixing almost choked on a tapioca pearl.
