Intern ShenanigansWith the school semester coming to an end and a small break before the upcoming semester, Yixing started planning out his visit back home. He began with writing down on a notepad a list of items he would need to bring, and wondered if it would be easier to just ship those to his parents’ house in a box beforehand.
“That’s a pretty strange shopping list you have there.”
Yixing turned his head and found Luhan peering curiously over his shoulder.
“It’s for my parents,” he replied, going back to writing his list.
Luhan draped himself over Yixing and took the list from Yixing’s hands.
“Your parents need your underwear? That’s pretty strange,” Luhan mused.
Yixing snatched the paper back from Luhan and tried to shrug him off from his shoulders. Luhan clung more onto Yixing in response, a light chuckle escaping his throat.
“No, I mean it’s for the trip to my parents,” Yixing sighed, resigning to his fate as Luhan’s personal cuddle toy.
Luhan withdrew his hold on Yixing then.
“Wait, you’re leaving to your parents?” he started to whine. "For how long? Why?"
Yixing turned around in his seat to face Luhan.
“Um, because I miss them?” he blankly responded.
Luhan made a childish pout and lightly poked at Yixing in fake anger.
“Take me with you,” he demanded in a whiny tone.
Yixing couldn’t help but laugh at Luhan’s silly actions and request. He already spent more than enough time with Luhan each day at both home and at work. He really didn’t need Luhan to be with him while he was visiting his hometown.
“I don’t think my parents would appreciate me bringing home my boss/housemate,” Yixing joked.
“But Yixing, I am quite the catch to bring back home to your parents,” Luhan teasingly countered.
Yixing blushed a bit at the implied meaning of that statement. He turned back around in his chair, hoping that Luhan didn’t catch his flustered reaction.
“Nope, sorry, too bad,” Yixing looked over his list exaggeratedly. “There’s no room in my suitcase for you.”
Luhan’s defeated expression slowly changed into a mischievous little smile as he leaned close to whisper into Yixing’s ear.
“I guess you’ll just have to carry me in your heart then,” he softly spoke.
Yixing really couldn’t hide how flustered he was now.
