Intern ShenanigansYixing managed to graduate from school without a hitch and finished up the remaining days at his internship smoothly. Afterwards, he quickly applied for a job that he’d been interested in since the previous year, and eagerly prepared for his first official job interview.
At the interview, Yixing sat and waited in a chair patiently as his resume was being reviewed, amusedly taking in how different the situation was compared to his first meeting back when he was an intern.
“Very impressive indeed, Mr. Zhang,” a voice broke Yixing’s thoughts.
Yixing couldn’t help but smile at the compliment.
“Does that mean I’ve got the job?” he boldly asked.
Maybe he had gotten a little too ahead of himself, because the next moment a toy stress ball from the desk was thrown at his head.
“Yah!”
Yixing ducked out of the way in time and couldn’t help but begin to laugh.
“Intern – !”
“I’m not your intern anymore, Luhan!” Yixing smiled back cheekily.
He picked up the toy stress ball from the floor and threw it back to Luhan, who caught it with an equally annoyed yet pleased look on his face.
Just then a stumble was heard outside the hallway. The doorknob rattled for a bit before opening widely, revealing a slightly out-of-breath individual who looked a bit too fashionable to be taken as an employee, if not for the ID lanyard around his neck.
“You called me, sir?” he shakily breathed out.
Luhan walked over and placed a hand on the other’s shoulder, an apologetic yet amused smile on his face.
“Sorry about that, Tao. I kinda just yelled that out of habit.”
Tao’s expression shifted from one of worry to that of relief, and Yixing got up from his chair to introduce himself. He went on to reassure Tao that he needn’t be too anxious about working here, because they were all a relatively good batch of guys to work with.
Tao lit up shyly at the kind gesture and proceeded to excuse himself from the room, apologizing for having potentially barged in during an important meeting.
“He’s cute. I like him,” Yixing casually commented after Tao had left.
“Yah,” Luhan spoke in a peeved tone. “No hitting on the intern. I won’t allow an office romance.”
Yixing turned to face Luhan, giving him a rather mischievous look.
“What are we then?” he mused.
Luhan pretended to think for a moment before placing his hands on Yixing’s cheeks, pulling the other in for a kiss. Yixing allowed himself to get drawn in, but stopped Luhan’s hands when they started wandering down to the buttons of his dress shirt.
“No office romance, you said,” Yixing drew back a little, a small smile tugging at his lips.
Luhan laughed breathlessly in response.
“Fine, we’ll continue this after hours,” he lightheartedly resigned.
Yixing leaned forward and gave Luhan one more kiss before making his way to the door.
“Good. I’ll be counting it as overtime,” Yixing added before disappearing out of sight.
Luhan quickly followed after Yixing down the hallway.
A/N: Many many thanks to all of you that read and enjoyed this story~ I apologize for the abrupt and open-ended...ending. I did have some more details that I would've liked to write out, but with time having become a scarce thing for me, I felt that I should conclude this story rather than letting it go unfinished.
