Chapter 7
The Secret Ingredient
{ Saturday Cont. }
[ Lee Jinki’s POV ]
I jump out of the van, Taemin, Key and Minho behind me. We enter the SM Building and are instantly greeted by everyone. We wave hello then head towards the rehearsal room. Apparently Jonghyun hasn’t arrived yet. The lights are off. I flick them on while Minho rummages around in our bag looking for our cd. Taemin starts warming up in the corner while Key changes into his dance gear. I check my watch... it’s already 2! We have a radio show later today... where the hell is Jonghyun? We’re missing important practice time.
“Taemin, start rehearsal. Go over Key and Minho’s parts. I’m going to go look for Jonghyun.”
I head out the door, down the escalator and out the building to look around. I’m about the call him when I see two figures. One is unmistakably Jonghyun. The other looks like a girl. I jog towards him quickly.
“Yah! You’re late! Did you forget the time? Just because you wanted to go on a date we’re all behind schedule”, I scold. I turn to the girl, ready to attack her with my glare. “OMO! Kim Sun Shin? You’re Jonghyun’s date?”
She nods uncomfortably. I turn to Jonghyun now, surprised. Whatever. I’ll deal him later.“Sorry, but we have to go now. We’re on a very behind right now and must rehearse. I hope to see you soon.” I grab Jonghyun’s wrist and take off immediately.
[ Kim Jonghyun’s POV ]
Everyone left to change out of their sweaty clothes. Just me and Jinki now. This is going to be pleasant. We’re the only ones who didn’t sweat. He was too busy giving being bossy and giving orders and I was too occupied with lovely mental images of Sun Shin and our time together.
“Aishh. Kim Jonghyun, you player.”
“Who said I was going to play her.”
“I saw her first.”
“That doesn’t make her yours.”
“You guys had a good time today, huh? Lots of skinship, right?”
“Yeah. I wiped coffee off her legs.” aware of my arrogant tone. Suddenly, I found myself pinned to the wall with a strong hand against my neck.
“If you hurt her, I swear, you’re dead. Have you seen how broken she is right now, how delicate? I expect you as a member of SHINee to be more respectful than this.”
Delicate? Did something happen recently? “I’ll be careful this time. She’s fallen for me already anyways. Me. Not you.”
He just stands there for a while staring at me. His hand stiffens. It’s a while before he pulls back and releases me. Quietly, he asks me, “What do you want from her?”
“Nothing more than you do.” With that, I turn and walk out. Lot’s of dramatic exits recently, I think to myself.
