Moving into the house took a lot less time than they had originally expected. Maybe it was because Kibum had found out about their plans of moving in together, and had ordered all of their friends to band together and help them move everything into their new house (after hours of complaining that the paint on the insides should be changed to a shade of pink).

Of course, the moving in was done when Onew and Jonghyun were working, because Kibum wanted to surprise the elder couple. Onew didn't think it was fair to make everyone move their stuff into their new house, but Kibum had hung up before Onew could debate it with him, leaving Onew to pout at the phone childishly.

Jonghyun was gone for a few days for some music video filming, which already had Onew in a depressed mood as he filled out the papers he usually filled out.

Five minutes later, he turned his chair and and narrowed his eyes at the phone sitting on his desk, "Ring!"

Onew wasn't stupid enough to believe it would ring when he wanted it to, but he had hope that Jonghyun would call him suddenly to tell him he loved him- or something that would obviously have Onew blushing like a young school girl for the remainder of the day.

So, when the phone actually rang, Onew actually jumped back and clutched onto his chest, half wondering if he was too young to be having heart attacks, and half wondering if he had some sort of magic powers his parents had hidden from him. Slowly, his hand reached out and he put the phone on speaker.

"Hello?" His voice asked cautiously, because he had no idea of knowing who it was that was calling him.

"Jinki."

And Onew's heartbeat sped up because he knew very well whose voice that was.

"Jonghyun-ah." He couldn't help but sniffle as he stared at the phone.

Jonghyun's chuckle filled the line on the other side, and Jinki could feel his face turn red as he imagined Jonghyun chuckling like that next to him, "I take it you miss me as much as I miss you?"

"I don't hear you crying." Onew huffed, rubbing his eyes as Jonghyun chuckled again, quickly making Jinki's lips stretch upward into a smile.

"Trust me, I've had my fair share of waterworks on this trip."

"Are you alright?" Onew asked while biting his lip, feeling guilty for saying such dumb things.

"Stop biting your lip, Jinki." Jonghyun chuckled again, and Onew's eyes widened in surprise before he reminded himself that Jonghyun knew him better than anyone else.

"Alright..." Onew sighed, breathing out slowly, "When are you coming home, Jonghyun-ah? I miss you too much."

"Hmm, what would you say if I were to tell you I'd be coming home tonight?"

"I'd say you're a jerk who wants to put my hopes up even though I know you won't be back today." Onew answered him simply, shaking his head.

"Oh really? Then go to the little Japanese restaurant tonight at 7, and I'll show you."

"You'll really be here?" Onew couldn't help but feel the excitement bubble up in his chest, glancing at his clock and laughing loudly when noticing the time, "It's almost 6! So I'll be able to see you in an hour!"

"You're just too precious." Jonghyun's voice had a dreamy tone to it, and Onew wondered what could be making him talk like that, before the younger cleared his throat, "I have to go now, Jinki. I'll see you there at 7 sharp."

"Neh!" Onew had said, although the only sound that came from the line was that of the dial tone. He ran to the bathroom in the office and fixed his hair as well as he was able to, grabbing his things and sprinting out of the building and to his car in the parking lot.

Traffic was slow and Onew thanked every God he could think of when he reached the restaurant with 5 minutes to spare. He walked in and got a table for the both of them, looking at the door every so often with the brightest smile he could ever pull off.

It quickly passed 7, but remembering the traffic jam he'd been in, Onew didn't think much of it and continued waiting patiently. It was well past 8, and he could feel the waiting staff becoming impatient with him, so with a nervous chuckle sent to them, Onew picked up his phone and dialed Jonghyun's number.

However, it was a female who answered, and in confusion, Onew asked who she was. She in turn had told Onew news that had him jumping up from his seat with a pale face.

"Kim Jonghyun has been in a fatal car crash and is now under intensive care."

With tears falling, Onew demanded to know which hospital they were at, and with time against him, he drove as fast as he could to Jonghyun's side, calling up every number he could on his way.

Jinki didn't like ignoring Jonghyun, he realized, but he didn't find any other way to deal with the younger male. He had allowed Jessica to chase after the younger male without having to worry about Jinki's interference, but why was he feeling so miserable? It passed a week after Jinki's accident, and he was back on his feet, although one leg was bandaged and dragging behind him as his krutches carried him.

He could see Jonghyun and Jessica down the hall, walking towards him with their hands swinging between them, but Jinki brushes it off as best he can, convincing himself that seeing them like that meant nothing to him.

"I'll meet you in class." he could hear the young male say to Jessica, bowing to her before quickly detaching himself from her side and trailing after Jinki, who'd picked up his pace after realizing what he was up to.

The krutches proved to be useful, actually, as it gave Jinki balance he needed to stop him from being so clumsy. In fact, he wondered if he should break his leg more often so he could have the excuse to use the krutches without anyone questioning him. Of course, it wasn't very reasonable, and had Jinki laughing at his own stupidity as he passed classmates and bowed his head in greeting them.

"Lee Jinki, is this really the end of our friendship?" Jonghyun's voice sounded bitter, and Jinki would have ignored him if it weren't for the fact that Jonghyun had grabbed him by the arm and pulled him back so they could be face to face.

Jinki only let out a sigh and set Jonghyun with the nastiest glare he could muster up, which had Jonghyun actually flinch for a moment, "Whatever happened between us is gone, like a dream that you seemed to have waken up from before I. So please allow me to finish my dream peacefully."

"What did I do, Jinki?" Jonghyun groaned in frustratedly, running a hand through his hair and yet, his eyes were darting around to make sure they weren't catching too much attention.

The elder noticed this immediately, and turned around to start walking again, "You did nothing. Please continue to do nothing, too, and stop appearing in my life."

Jonghyun never answered, and Jinki took in a deep breath, realizing that
