Joo Ri-ya!” Ji Min came rushing to the clinic with Coach Yunho a few minutes after Suho, Lay, and Baekhyun came. She sat beside you and she took your face in her hands. “Are you okay? Omo! Your glasses are broken,” she said when she noticed that you were wearing a different pair of glasses and found yours on top of Doctor Jungs’s table. You were temporarily wearing a pair of glasses that Doctor Jung gave you. Because it doesn’t have the same measurement as yours, wearing it gives you a little headache. The measurement was also too low for your eyesight so your vision still wasn’t really clear. But since you didn’t have a choice, it was better than nothing. Doctor Jung had already placed a request for replacement of your new pair of glasses, and he said it would take a few days. “And your nose is broken! Ah, ottoke?” Ji Min continued while gently fumbling with the red-stained gauze over your nose. “No it’s not. But it’s got a pretty big wound though,” you told her. “And it’s gonna bruise,” Doctor Jung added. “Arrrgh! That Lee Hee Jun! I hope he really dies from his injuries. Aish!” She huffed. “I was so worried since I suddenly couldn’t find you in middle of all those commotion.” “Lay brought me here.” “Hahhh,” she sighed and turned to Lay. “Thanks Lay.” “You’re welcome,” Lay replied. “I really thought something bad happened to you,” Ji Min continued. “But, what really happened out there? All I knew was that Chanyeol and Hee Jun were fighting. Then suddenly there was Kai and that other student. A-and there was also Lu Han and D.O. pushing another student to the ground,” you asked them. “Sorry about that. Those students were vampires, they got out of control when they caught the scent of your blood. They probably couldn’t control their bloodlust yet. And your blood smells very much like a human’s so their instincts took over. Good thing Kai and the others were paying attention and stopped them on time. But even D.O. was feeling a little unwell after smelling that much blood,” Coach Yunho explained. You shivered as you thought about what would have happened if the others didn’t come to save you. “What about Kai and Lee Hee Jun? I thought it was only Chanyeol and Lee Hee Jun fighting?” “Well, things got ugly after you left,” it was Baekhyun who answered. “Lee Hee Jun’s friends apparently joined in the fight. Though Chanyeol could have defeated all of them easily on his own, but we couldn’t just stand and watch him being ganged up, so some of us went to help him including Kai when he was done with the vampire. But he and Chanyeol got a little carried away and beat Hee Jun endlessly until the bastard lay unconscious.” “Omo,” you muttered. “That bastard deserved it if you ask me,” Baekhyun said. “But of course the teachers aren’t happy about it.” “And speaking of which, I have to go back now to discuss things with the other teachers. I just came to check on how you’re doing. I’m glad you didn’t have any serious injuries. If there’s anything I could help you with, don’t hesitate to tell me,” Coach Yunho said. “Thanks Coach,” you answered. “Get well,” he said and headed out. “Do you think they’ll really be expelled?” You asked Suho. “I really don’t know. Let’s hope not. But you know Chanyeol and Kai are not really popular with the teachers, and that might put them at a disadvantage,” Suho answered. “You’re right. The teachers don’t like those two because they always cause trouble,” Ji Min muttered. “Hyung, we should go back. I want to know what’s going on at the Chairman’s office,” Baekhyun said. “Yeah. Let’s go,” Suho agreed. “Wait! I want to go too!” You told them and immediately stood up from bed. “No, Joo Ri. Stay here and rest,” Suho said and gently pushed you back to bed. “But I can’t! I have to know what’s gonna happen to Kai and Chanyeol. And I’m also involved. They only hit Lee Hee Jun because Lee Hee Jun hit me first. I should at least do something right?” You argued. “I understand how you feel. But for now, only the Student Council is allowed to be there. And even if you go, there’s not much we can do to help at the moment,” Suho told you. “But what if they decide to expel them? I can’t just sit here and wait,” you insisted. “Don’t worry Joo Ri. It’s still too early for them to decide on that. It’s a pretty big incident and there are many angles to consider. Plus, matters concerning expulsion will be decided by all the board members of the school, not only the teachers. So if the teachers deem that Kai and Chanyeol should be expelled, there’s still a lot of meetings and investigations to go through before a decision can be made. They probably just want to hear Kai and Chanyeol’s side right now. And I’m sure they would also call you in soon to hear your side of the story. We’ll see what we can learn and we’ll tell you guys later. For now, just rest, araji?” Suho told you, not giving you any room for arguments. “And as your doctor, I order you to stay in bed for the whole afternoon,” Doctor Jung butted in. “Araso,” you sighed after a while. “Everything’s gonna be fine,” Lay patted your shoulder. Ji Min and Lay stayed with you for a while, and the three of had your lunch at the clinic with Doctor Jung. People from the Student Press came a couple of times to talk to you about what happened but Doctor Jung sent them away every time, telling them that you needed to rest and you were not to be disturbed. Lay and Ji Min left later for their afternoon classes, while you stayed at the clinic since you were excused from all your classes today. Ji Min said that she’ll just get your things which were still at the PE locker room and bring it back to the dorm after class. “Can’t I rest at my room?” You asked Doctor Jung. “Wae? You don’t like it in here?” He asked. “I really don’t like clinics and hospitals and stuff,” you told him. But aside from that, you kept looking over where the other unconscious student lay, and wondered if he was one of the vampires or one of Lee Hee Jun’s friends. Either way, you didn’t want to be there when he wakes up. You’ve had more than enough trouble for today. “Actually, your injuries are not that serious so I was planning to discharge you this afternoon,” Doctor Jung said. “What?” You asked blankly and tore your gaze away from the sleeping student. “I said I’m gonna discharge you,” Doctor Jung answered impatiently at your inattention. “Oh, right,” you laughed guiltily. “So I’m free to go now?” You asked while standing up. “Not yet. Go when the classes have started,” Doctor Jung told you. “Wae yo?” You asked. “Aish, this kid. Didn’t you see how many times the Student Press disturbed my lunch because of you? And I’m sure it’s not only the Student Press who would want to ask you about what happened. Everybody would have already heard about the incident by now. So if you want to return to your dorm in peace, wait for the classes to start before you go,” he explained. “Oh, alright,” you answered and sat back on the bed. “And as much as possible, avoid going out of your room for a few days,” he said. “Wae yo? Shiro yo.” “Ya,” he said as he flicked your forehead with his pen. “Ouch! Mweoya?!” You exclaimed and placed your hand over your forehead. “By any chance, did you lose your brain when that ball hit you? Why do you keep asking stupid questions,” he said. “I’m not,” you huffed. “You should expect to get more attention these coming days. You got yourself into a pretty big mess back there. Though physical fights are common in high school, monster or not, but that much damage is not something you would see every day, not even at a monster school. Not to mention, some of the people involved are some of the most popular here. Think about what you’ll be getting other than questions,” he said. Your brows furrowed as you tried to think about what he meant, until you remembered the soccer team’s fan girls. “Oh no,” you muttered. “Oh yes. So be careful,” he told you. Ugh! Just thinking about how mean they were even before this incident, I don’t want to imagine the things they’ll do now that their precious soccer team got into trouble because of me. Heavens help me. “Why do these things keep happening to me?” You mumbled miserably. “I try my best to stay out of trouble but I always end up getting into a bigger one all the time. It’s like my life is destined to be miserable or something. Aish! Life is so unfair,” you grumbled. “It’s not as bad as it seems so cheer up. You’re overreacting. This is why girls should stop watching too much TV dramas,” Doctor Jung told you. “I don’t watch dramas,” you retorted. “Seriously though, stop thinking too much about it. Today might just not be your lucky day,” he said. “It’s always not my lucky day,” you sulked. “Everyone has problems. If you let your problems affect you too much, you lose.” You gave another sigh and stared blankly at nothing in particular. “Here,” Doctor Jung said as he handed you a warm cloth. “What’s this?” “Put it over that large bruise on your arm for hot compress. What happened to that by the way? It’s a pretty old bruise so I know you didn’t get it today.” “I...,” you were about to tell him about your encounter with Lee Hee Jun last Monday but you thought it probably would start another trouble and you were not in the mood to entertain more than you already have. “I just had a little accident.” “Accident? What kind of accident would get you a bruise that big?” “I...my hand got caught by the door.” “Mweo?!” He excclaimed and laughed in disbelief. “I closed the door in a hurry coz I was gonna be late and my hand got caught,” you answered without looking straight at him. “Hmm...alright,” he said after a moment’s hesitation. “But that’s a pretty bad bruise you got there. I knew you’re a little clumsy but I didn’t expect that you’re this bad.” You silently sighed and relief that he believed
