Ji Min relayed to you what happened the night before and advised for you to just stay in bed. “The school doesn’t sell hangover medicine because alcohol is prohibited in the first place. But this should make you feel a little better,” she said as she set down a bowl of what seems to be jampong. “Thanks,” you muttered as you sat up in bed. “How much did you drink anyway?” She asked. “Three,” you murmured while rubbing your temples. Your head felt like it was splitting into two. “Three bottles?!” “No, three shots,” you corrected her. “Three shots? Three shots?!” She asked, looking even more shocked. “Omo! You have such low tolerance in alcohol.” “Wait, don’t I need a medical certificate if I don’t go to class?” “Yes.” “But if I go to the clinic, wouldn’t they know I got drunk?” “But Doctor Jung is your friend, right? It should be okay. Just ask him a favor this once.” “You’re right,” you nodded, making your head hurt a little more. “Aish! My head hurts. I didn’t know hangover could be this painful,” you muttered while rubbing your temples. “But would Doctor Jung really help me? What if he refuses? And what if he tells my mom?! Ah, ottoke?” “You think he’ll do that?” “I honestly don’t know,” you murmured. “Aish. I guess I’ll just attend school.” “But is that okay?” “You said this would make me feel better right? I guess I’ll be fine. I have no choice anyway,” you told her as you started sipping on the soup before staggering towards the bathroom to prepare for school. You arrived at school just a little before time. “Ayo Joo Ri!” Chanyeol greeted as you took your seat. “How are you feeling?” Sehun asked when he noticed the frown on your face. “Not good,” you answered and slumped on your desk into a sleeping position. “Drinking something hot like soup should make you feel better,” Kai told you. “I already did. Ji Min got me one this morning,” you murmured as you thought how nice it was if you could just stay on your bed and sleep through the whole day. The warm temperature was also not helping, and you were sure that it was gonna get hotter by noon. The weather has been getting warmer the past few days since summer was approaching. “Man. You got drunk with only three shots and now you even have a hangover. You’re worse than Lu Han-hyung,” Chanyeol remarked while laughing. “Speaking of which, it would be best if you stay away from Lu Han-hyung today,” Sehun said. “Wae?” You asked lazily. “Wha – don’t tell me you don’t remember?” Chanyeol laughed. “Remember what?” You asked. “Omo! She really forgot,” Chanyeol laughed some more. “What did I forget?” You sat up and looked at the three of them. “You really don’t remember what you did last night?” Sehun asked. “What I did last night?” You asked and tried to think back to the events the previous night. You got Lu Han’s name with a star from among the papers and you took the shot that Chen gave you. The last thing you remembered was picking a paper from the body parts and you couldn’t remember anything after that, and your attempts at remembering is only making your headache worse. “Aigoo, why can’t I remember anything?” You murmured before turning to the boys. “What did I do?” “Wahaha! She really forgot,” Chanyeol continued laughing. “I’m not sure if it’s a good thing for you to remember,” Kai chuckled. “Wae? What did I do?” “Go back to your seats. Class is starting,” Mr. Shim entered the room, making everyone run back to their places. “Just...try to avoid Lu Han-hyung today,” Sehun patted your shoulder before returning to his seat. “Wae?” You asked. “Just run when you see him,” he managed to answer before Mr. Shim started the discussion. M-mweoya? Aigoo. What’s up with them? You frowned. Your headache persisted even until your last morning period. Unfortunately, you had to do an activity with Kris and you weren’t really of much help. Aish. I can’t think straight with this headache, you sighed as you rubbed your forehead with your hand. “Honey water should help you feel better,” Kris said, without looking away from his textbook. “Eh?” You muttered in surprise but Kris didn’t answer and continued to fix his attention at the book. “Ah, ne,” you finally said and tried to focus on your activity again. You heard Chanyeol chuckling nearby. You looked at him and he and Kai were staring at you and Kris while laughing. “What?” You mouthed, but they just laughed some more. You noticed that Sehun was also laughing softly not far from them. You frowned at them before turning away. Ige mweoya? Why is everyone acting so weird today? Aish. To your relief, morning classes finally ended. Kris walked past you and out the door. Chanyeol was laughing again and went towards you. “You were laughing since a while ago,” you told him as you slung your backpack behind you. “Oh right. You don’t remember anything,” he said while laughing harder. “Exactly what don’t I remember? You guys have been bugging me about that since this morning.” “That matter a while ago with Lu Han-hyung is different with this matter with angry bird,” Chanyeol explained as the both of you headed out of the classroom with Sehun and Kai. “Eh?” You muttered in confusion. “What have I to do with Kris?” “AHHH!” Chanyeol sighed from laughing. “I really should have recorded everything.” “Recorded what? Ya, this starting to get annoying...wait,” you stopped walking and your eyes grew wide at your sudden realization. “Don’t tell me...did I do something stupid while I was drunk?” The three of them burst out laughing. “Ya! Tell me!” “You just realized that?” Kai asked while laughing. “What did I do?!” You asked in panic but the three of them just laughed harder. “Omo! What did I do to Kris and Lu Han? Wait, why is Kris involved? He wasn’t even there last night! Ya! Marhaebwa!” “YA!” An awfully familiar voice rang in the hallway. The four of you looked up to see Lu Han standing at the end of the hallway, looking none too happily...at you. “Uh-oh. I think you should go,” Sehun said. “Huh?” You muttered blankly. “You!” Lu Han yelled as he started walking towards you. “Go, now!” Sehun said since you just continued to stare at Lu Han. Lu Han’s pace became quicker and you started stepping back on instinct. You have always hated how Lu Han always looked so pure and innocent like an angel despite his foul attitude. But looking at him right now, he looked as scary as hell. “Omo!” You muttered and started jogging away. “YA!” Lu Han yelled as he also started to jog. “Omo! Omo! Waaaaaaah!” You ran like hell though you don’t know exactly why you were running away from him. You heard Lu Han’s angry calls behind you and the echo of Chanyeol, Sehun, and Kai’s laughters. “Ya! Where are you going?!” Lu Han yelled. You looked back and saw that he had also started running behind you. “OMO! Help me! Umma!” “Ya Luhan-hyung, slow down a bit,” Sehun said as he held Lu Han by his backpack. “Let me go,” Lu Han said. “Yeah, you seem so energetic today. Let’s go to the cafeteria before the food runs out,” Chanyeol said while also dragging Lu Han by his backpack towards the opposite direction. “Ya! Let me go! Ya!” Lu Han struggled as Chanyeol and Sehun dragged him away. “Whew!” You sighed. “What’s wrong with that devil? He’s really scary today.” You realized you couldn’t go to the cafeteria since Lu Han would be there with the others so you ended up going to the school clinic, though you had no idea why your feet brought you there. “Long time no see!” Doctor Jung greeted you. “We see each other every Wednesday,” you told him. “Yes, but you didn’t drop by the clinic the past few days. Finally got yourself accident free?” “I wish,” you muttered. “Doctor Jung, do you have any medicine for headache?” “Wae? Do you have fever?” Doctor Jung asked as he placed his palm on your forehead. “A-aniyo. I just...uh...didn’t get enough sleep,” you lied, and hoped you sounded convincing enough. Doctor Jung eyed you with scrutiny before hitting your forehead with his pen. “Ow!” You wailed as you placed your hands over the throbbing spot. “How much did you drink?” He asked. “Eh?” “Did you think you can fool me?” “But how did you know?” You asked in shock. “I can tell just by looking at your face. In case you’ve forgotten, I’m no ordinary doctor,” he answered. You frowned guiltily. “Aigoo. What have you been doing? What would your mother think?” “Please don’t tell my mother!” You begged. “I was just trying it out. I didn’t expect to get drunk. I won’t drink again, I promise! Please don’t tell her. She’d kill me!” “I wasn’t planning to. So who were you drinking with?” He asked. You thought for a while whether it’s a good idea to tell him. After all, Doctor Jung is still part of the faculty and you might get everyone in trouble. However, you’re sure he would easily figure out if you were lying. Besides, you still haven’t found out if he really does read minds. Might as well tell him the truth. “Th-the soccer team. They were having a party for Suho,” you told him. “That figures. I heard you’re the new manager.” “Ne,” you answered. “Expect to get into more trouble with those kids,” he laughed. “You’re not going to tell on us?” “Ani. A few rule-breaking is part of being young. In fact, I think it would be good for you.” “Then why did you hit me earlier?” You scowled. “I didn’t hit you because you were drinking. But if you drink, then you should also be responsible to know when to stop. Your mother entrusted you to me. If you do something stupid, she’d kill me first.” “You’re afraid of her?” You asked laughing. “Well, she can be scary sometimes. Even your father’s afraid of her.” “Doctor Jung, I was thinking. Can I ask you a favor?” “What is it?” “Can you make me a medical certificate or something? My head’s really hurting. I don’t think I’d be fine in class.” “Aish,” he said and hit your head with his pen again. “Don’t include me in your schemes. If you were brave enough to do something you shouldn’t, then be brave enough to face the consequences.” “But you were encouraging me earlier,” you grumbled to yourself. “Here,” he said as he handed you a medicine. “That’s not for hangover but that should help ease the headache.” “Thanks,” you said and was about to take the medicine. “Don’t take it with an empty stomach. Have you eaten?” “No,” you answered truthfully. “Aigoo, this kid. Wait here,” he said and went out. You called Ji Min to let her know that you won’t be eating at the cafeteria and would be staying at the clinic for lunch break. Doctor Jung came back minutes later with a tray of cafeteria food. He got you a bowl of beef soup and even prepared some honey water, which led you to wonder if Kris also noticed that you’re having a hangover. You decided to go back to class just a little before the time, to make sure you don’t get another encounter with Lu Han. Unfortunately, your efforts were in vain. Lu Han appeared out of nowhere and grabbed you by your backpack before you could even think of running. “You think you can avoid me?” He said. “W-who said I was avoiding you?” You said defensively. “Then why did you run away?” “I...j-just needed to be somewhere else. Why do you keep chasing me anyway? What’s wrong with you?” You retorted, trying your best to sound firm and brave. Lu Han eyed you disbelievingly. “M-mweo? You’re saying you don’t know?” “Do I look like a psychic?” “Haha,” Lu Han laughed incredulously. “After what you did last night...you really...you!” He looked frighteningly dangerous at the moment that you literally jumped when he raised his voice. “A-a-I couldn’t remember anything last night. If I did anything that might have annoyed you then I’m sorry. It probably was your fault anyway,” you murmured the last part to yourself but Lu Han heard it. “Mweo?! You –,” he bellowed but he didn’t get to finish what he was saying. “You two! What are you still doing in the hallways? Classes are about to start! Get to your classrooms,” a wandering teacher reprimanded the two of you. “Ne, sonsaengnim,” Lu Han answered without letting go of you. He started walking, dragging you along with him. “Ya, we’re not done yet. I’ll see you at practice. If you run away again, you’re dead,” he said and finally let go of your backpack when you reached your classroom. “And you better remember what you did,” he said before finally leaving. You heaved a sigh as you entered your classroom. Most of your classmates were already there, and some were giving you weird stares, most especially the girls. “Joo Ri! How are you feeling?” Sehun asked as soon as you reached your seat. “Pretty much the same. But Doctor Jung already gave me medicine for the headache,” you told him. “Did you eat?” Chanyeol asked. “Ne,” you answered. “That’s good. We thought you didn’t eat because you weren’t able to go to the cafeteria because of Lu Han-hyung. Sorry about this. It will pass soon,” Sehun said. “Aigoo. What did I really do to him anyway?” You asked. But Mr. Bae came in to start history class, interrupting your conversation. You ended up not listening in class since you were trying to remember what really happened the night before. If Lu Han was that mad, then perhaps you have really done something horrible. Or he’s just naturally being ill-natured. He’s a devil after all, you frowned. “Whoa! Haha! Chin...,” Chen’s voice suddenly rang somewhere in your mind, making you sit up in remembrance. Bits of memories were slowly coming back to you as you remembered that it was indeed ‘Chin’ you have picked from among the papers last night. You remembered feeling dizzy and nervous at the same time. You remembered looking at your feet as the ground seemed to spin around you. You remembered the lou
