“When is your next meeting?” you stood beside your window and stared outside

“Within 30 minutes.” Kris answered

“It’s been 5 days since we met.” you mumbled

“I know and I’m sorry but work had caught up on me. I know we used to spend our time together but I have a job to do.”

“No, I understand.” you said calmly “So when are you going to see me?” you might sound desperate but perhaps you are; you missed him, barely calling, barely texting and you don’t even get to see him

“Hyo Ri… I can’t promise that I’ll be able to see you within this week. We need to head to Busan, Gyeonggi-do and other states.” he sighs

You paused “Okay.”

“Hyo Ri, I miss you a lot okay? It’s not that I don’t want to see you, I just can’t.”

“No, I totally get it, don’t worry.” you said casually with a chuckle

“I gotta go, we need to prepare early. I might not call you tonight because it’s gonna be a late night meeting.” he said

“Sure.” you nodded absent-mindedly

“Bye…” he said

“Wait Kris…” toot toot; he hung up “I love you...” you whispered and placed the phone on the table

The phone rang and your eyes lit up; picking it without even , looking at the caller ID.

“Hello?” you beamed

“Hyo Ri, I’m already here.” Chan Yeol’s voice spoke through the phone

“Oh, I’ll be right down.” you hung up and sigh deeply

Since Kris wasn’t able to send you or pick you up anymore; you decided to take the bus or a cab but Chan Yeol offered you a ride instead and you were glad that he was there to look out for you. However, it never seems to be the same with Kris not around. It doesn’t feel like you have a boyfriend anymore.

“Good morning.” Chan Yeol grinned when you entered his car

“Morning.” you smiled meekly

“I feel tense.” he said and glance at you

“No, it’s nothing.”

“I know I am nowhere near a replacement to Kris but bear with me.” he said in a somewhat slightly disappointed tone

“Yeol…” you felt guilty “I’m sorry, it’s nothing like that. I’m happy you’re here to take care of me but it’s just not the same you know…”

Yeah, not the same, because you don’t love me “Try to cheer up a bit.” you stayed quiet “Hyo Ri…” he cooed and tickled the sides of your waist

“Yeol! What are you…” you broke into a huge laughter and smacked his hands away

“I’m sorry, I can’t hear you, what is it Hyo Ri?” he kept tickling your sides

“Yeol! Stop it!” you almost choked

He stopped and laughed “Feeling better?” he smiled

“I could almost die you know.” you chuckled “But thank you.” you gave him a genuine smile
