A/N: OMGOMGOMGOMG! I am so so sorry that it has been forever since we have updated. This year has been so hetic with life and college that I got majorly side-tracked, and I am sure Yugi feels the same. “YOU WHAT?” I yell at Cha-Sook. I excused myself to the inventory room after Cha-Sook sent me a text explaining she might be fired from her job from standing up for Xiumin.

“That told Xiumin he was fat and made him seem like a idiot. So I stepped on her foot, and twisted her arm. Serves her right.” An overly-confident Cha-Sook states over the phone.

“This is why I was afraid of you going into retail.” I rub my forehead. “In retail, the customer is always right, no matter what the problem is.”

Cha-Sook is stunned. “What?”

“Cha-Sook. It wasn’t your place to stand up for Xiumin. It was his problem, I don’t care if your feelings got hurt. It wasn’t your place to stand up for him. There was a reason Xiumin didn’t say anything, that’s because he knows that customers are more powerful than the company. Your short temper did not help the situation!”

Working in retail for the past three years made me feel like a small person, workers are given no power. We always have to answer with ‘yes’ or ‘I will try to make that happen’. There are no ‘no’s’ or emotions. During the day, you are a robot that works for the customers. If you stand up or fight back, don’t be surprised by being a robot that was shut off.

“What did you say? I was wrong for standing up for someone? For trying to show a person that they are better than what they seem? That a person has feelings and if someone hurts those feelings then they should accept that?” Cha-Sook was on the verge of tears at the end of her sentence.

I let out a sigh before answering, “Yes. In the retail-”

“I DON’T CARE ABOUT RETAIL. RETAIL THIS, RETAIL THAT!!! I STOOD UP FOR HIM AS HUMAN BEING, NOT A WORKER.”

“CAN YOU STAND LOSING YOUR JOB JUST TO STAND UP FOR A HUMAN?” I yell. “FINALLY SOMETHING GOOD HAPPENS TO YOU AND YOU LOSE IT?”

“Yes, I can handle losing my job to stand up for someone, and now you have to stand losing a good friend.” Cha-Sook hangs up, and I am left with the beeping of a disconnected phone call.

Let me just say that I was less than excited to face Cha-Sook back at the apartment. We very rarely fight, but when we do it tends to last longer than a day like other girl fights. But I can’t allow this, her parents asked me to be there for her when no one else is.

“Cha-Sook, for today-”  A sound echoes throughout the apartment and suddenly heat fills my right cheek, and tears fill my eyes. “-I apologize” I bring my hand up to my cheek.

As I look at Cha-Sook she glares at me. “We are out of milk; I am going to the store.” With that she left me standing in shock.

My mind is cleared of its thoughts as the heat in my cheek gets worse. Never once has Cha-Sook ever physically hurt me. No matter how feisty our fights got, not once has she laid a finger on me.

I can’t stay here, not in this state, I love Cha-Sook but I need time to myself. Without thinking I leave the apartment as more tears spill down my cheek, I run out of the apartment building, but I don’t stop there. I keep on running, running away from this fight, running away from organizing the party, running away from reality. I just run, but I have no idea how long I ran for.

The winter weather freezes my body but my cheek still burns, and my feet burn from running so far. I come to a stop and look at my surroundings, nothing looks familiar.

I panic as I pull out my phone and call the only person that I want to see the most, Chanyeol.

“Hello?” His voice makes my body relax and my heart beat slows down.

“I’m lost.” I barely manage to say through harsh breaths.

“You’re lost?!?!?” He can’t hide his concern, and his voice cracks at the last word.

“Cha-Sook slapped me...gasp...and I ran from the apartment...wheeze.....and I kept running....and now I don’t know where I am.” I manage to choke out through the gasping and wheezing.

“C-calm down, tell me one of the buildings near you.” Chanyeol tries his best to remain calm but I hear him hurriedly grab his car keys.

I look around for any buildings that stand out, I am just surprised that in all years I have lived in South Korea I have never seen this area before. “Hmmmm, I am around an arcade and what I think is an apartment complex.”

“What is the name of the apartment complex?” I hear Chanyeols front door close behind him.

“Manse Apartments.”

“Manse? I live in Manse Apartment. Hold on, I am coming down.” Chanyeol hangs up, relief in his voice and I am left in my thoughts again.

Just what got into her that she would slap me? Does she really care for Xiumin that much?

“Eun-Mi!” Chanyeol’s deep voice booms in front of me.

As Chanyeol reaches me, he gently grabs my chin and turns my right cheek towards him.

“She got you good huh?” I chuckle and a smile spreads across his face. “There’s that smile.”

“Sorry for calling you so late Chanyeol. I must be a pain in the neck.” I say as I rub my running nose away with the sleeve of my sweater.

“Why are you apologizing? Anyway, let’s get you out of the cold.” Chanyeol quickly takes my hand and leads me up to his apartment.

I am not going to lie. Although Chanyeol looks like an unkempt person, his apartment was spotless; no trace of dust anywhere. I couldn’t keep my mouth shut as I ventured further into his apartment.

Chanyeol notices this and chuckles, “I can’t live in messy environments, hence why I live alone. My past roommates where some of the sloppiest people alive.” I couldn’t help but laugh at this.

“That is almost like Cha-Sook.” The room goes silent after my comment.

“I hope you don’t mind me asking, but is this about the conversation you had in the inventory room earlier today?”

“You heard?”

“Sorry. Suho Hyung asked me to check the status of our low items and you just happened to be talking. I promise I had no intentions to eavesdrop.” I can tell Chanyeol’s sincere and I just smile at him.

“No, you are fine. It saves me from having to explain the situation.” I comfortably flop myself down on his couch.

He flops down right next to me. “But you are going to explain why she slapped you though.” I pout at his question.

“I too want an explanation on why she slapped me. Cha-Sook never laid a finger on me when we had a fight before.”

“Does she know that you ran away?” I giggle at hearing the words ‘ran away’. I am a grown adult yet I ran away from home, my home to be precise.

“No, I just ran away. But I should probably go find a hotel to stay at.” I stand up and fix my sweater, and turn to thank Chanyeol.

“You already found a hotel. You can stay here until you two make up.” Chanyeol stands up.

“What if we never make up?” The question came out as a joke, but his face turns into a bright smile.

“Then I guess I found a roommate.”

Becoming Chanyeol’s roommate wouldn’t be such a terrible thing. When he saw that I was still pouting, he went out and bought chocolate ice cream and we ate the whole tub while watching movies until I wandered into dream land.

When I open my eyes, everything is dark besides the tv. I grab my phone and it reads 3:08. I scrunch my nose in disappointment. As I look over, I freeze, Chanyeol fell asleep less than a foot away from me.

I couldn’t help but gaze at his face, Chanyeol could easily be a model with his looks. Slowly, I reach my hand out to trace his facial features. His well shaped eyebrows that compliment his face structure. My hands then lightly trace over his eyes and his soft eyelashes, they trace over his nose and its soft curve. Lastly, they trace his lips and my heart starts to skip a beat. Starting at his cupids bow and working down to his bottom lip.

I quietly chuckle before drawing my hand away from his face. “Chanyeol, do you ever look at me this way? Probably not huh?”

Before I had time to think about what his answer might be, I close my eyes and I drift off into sleep again.
