Bangtan have been "in the making" since 2010. It started of as a duo, consisting of underground rappers Hunchul and Kim Namjoon (Rap Monster). In early 2011, BigHit began auditions for the rest of the members. BangTan were suppose to debut in 2010, but had to push it back due to members coming in and out. With the new member line up they were suppose to debut in 2011, but a member left and had to push it back to 2013. Bangtan officially debuted on June 12, 2013.
