This Must Come To An End

Shine Bright Like A Diamond

Shine Bright Like A Diamond

Chapter Twelve:

Later that night, Seung Hyun watched as Ji Yong’s eyes finally closed and sleep took over. The little vampire had refused him leave, so long as he was not asleep. Seung Hyun didn’t mind it though. But his thoughts couldn’t help but to run back to what Ji Yong had told him earlier that day. He should have realized it sooner, he really should have. When there was no binding contract and no outside force to push a reaction out of him- when had he stopped feeling so numb? He had been so numb for all of his life, that it was scary to believe that he couldn’t even recognize his own feelings. Apart from the fact that although Ji Yong could feed his own feelings to him, it was easy to mask his own as he concerned himself with Ji Yong’s but in all truth they were there. There was no longer the ignorant excuse that he didn’t know. There was nothing covering his eyes. And there was nothing keeping him from hearing—he was free and he could feel.

He didn’t even have to ask himself why then it was so hard to leave. The simple fact was that Ji Yong’s life was now tide to his. Wherever he went, Ji Yong had to follow if he wanted to get as far away as possible. No matter how far he went, he wouldn’t be able to shake Ji Yong off. Funny thing was that he wasn’t trying to take Ji Yong with him. He would never separate Ji Yong from his family the way that he had been separated from his when he had been nothing but a mere child. He couldn’t do that to Ji Yong. All four brothers were annoying in their own right but it was clear as day the love that they held for each other. To take one away would be like tearing them apart from that warmth in life. Seung Hyun knew that he shouldn’t care. It shouldn’t matter! Ji Yong had given his life to him. Ji Yong was just another foolish vampire but at the same time- no he wasn’t. Ji Yong was a lot more and even he couldn’t understand why he felt so strongly for Ji Yong when nothing was making him feel that way other than his own foolish heart. There had to be something wrong with his heart.

Or maybe it was not that he wanted to admit it- but…his heart was no longer his. It belonged to Ji Yong. His kind had a keen way of falling for only one person in their life time and Seung Hyun feared his time had come. That he had finally found his lifemate, but at the same time he refused to believe it, because he didn’t want to hurt him. Because reality was a lot harder to face and it was simple- he had to say goodbye…

Leaning forward, and brushing some of that soft pink and blue hair aside, he planted barely there kiss on Ji Yong’s forehead. He made sure the little vampire was covered up and snug before he made his way out of the room- locking the door behind him. It seemed that Dong Wook had been both angry and confused about what had happened. He had wanted to talk to Ji Yong all evening that his persistence made Seung Hyun fear that he would come to Ji Yong’s room. He could not and would not allow that. That is why his mind was already coming up with ways of making Dong Wook’s life living hell if he ever dared to step within ten feet of Ji Yong. Knowing Dong Wook, he would try several times. The man was just that persistent and very much in like with Ji Yong that for a moment it made Seung Hyun wondered if Dong Wook currently cared for Ji Yong a lot more than he did…

Then again, it was he who was placing spells around Ji Yong and locking his door at night to keep any other people-Dong Wook- away. It was foolish to think that his feelings could be so easily dismissed. This wasn’t a joke. Especially when even though he knew how he felt for Ji Yong, he still had it in his right of mind to separate from him. He’s being fed with Ji Yong’s direct life, and because of that he had to starve himself no matter how willingly Ji Yong’s energies pressed to him. No matter how badly he wanted to that heady and sweet source of life. It was Ji Yong’s by all rights. He refused to acknowledge that he had any rights to it. Ji Yong was still a growing vampire and he couldn’t do that to him- stunt his growth or worse end his life. He could end up being the murderer of his own lifemate. His pure attraction to Ji Yong was going to have to be ignored if he planned on setting things right.

That is why he needed to talk to Ha Yi.

The small girl was standing right outside of her bedroom door, waiting for him as she had been the night of the celebration. He walked over to her and then sat down on the floor, crossing his legs and didn’t say a word. He simply cherished the silence that lingered. Ha Yi on the other hand shifted slightly away from him and decided to break the silence, “W-wha-what are you Seung Hyun?” her voice was nearly a whisper as she spoke. Seung Hyun turned his eyes to her and shrugged.

“Feelings are very inconvenient, aren’t they” he evasively responded instead. “Very annoying and problematic”

Ha Yi looked at confused, “Right” she muttered. “Don’t avoid the question!”

“That doesn’t really matter, and I don’t see it fit to owe you an explanation as to whom I am Ha Yi, by all means I could lie about what I am” He evasively responded once more to her, giving her a small smile. Ha Yi sighed, pouting and crossing her arms.

“At least be honest and answer, you are not human then”

Seung Hyun shook his head, “I am not human.” He said, being sure to be careful with his words. Ha Yi nodded at his response, but silence seemed to come forth again. She knew Seung  Hyun was not going to tell her what he was, but at the same time just knowing that he would let her know enough that he wasn’t human made her feel strangely safe about it. Although in the back of her mind she feared that he would still be angry about the fact that she kissed him without permission, she knew better now. She wasn’t going to try it again; she wasn’t stupid enough to do so. But at the same time she didn’t want to leave Seung Hyun’s side. She didn’t want to turn her back to him. She wanted to at least be friends if they could be. No not even that- so long as he didn’t start ignoring her.

“Why are you here Seung Hyun?”

Seung Hyun sighed, but decided that he wasn’t going to even acknowledge what she had asked. “Ha Yi, let’s make a deal” Seung Hyun hummed, looking thoughtful, “Now, you have the wish to be a vampire, and I have the wish to leave this place, but I can’t so long as I am tied to Ji Yong, so I need an outside source help me gather information from back where I come from” Seung Hyun said, “A pawn to be at my side when needed. I’ll give you what you want, if you help me accomplish what I want”

Ha Yi stared wide eyed, “You can…you can make me into a vampire?” she asked, disbelief painting her voice, but there was hope laced in with that.

“As good as if you had been born as one” Seung Hyun replied.

“Omo” Ha Yi looked torn up. The thought was so tempting. Could Seung Hyun really do it? Turn her into a vampire? It would be like a dream come true.

“Of course, there are requirements of pledging your full loyalty to me, Ha Yi” Seung Hyun said, making sure he said her name so she would listen closely “And if you should betray me, you will be tortured for all eternity. Also, those who make deals with me are no longer granted the right to go to either heaven or hell anymore. But there is this little place where nothing exists, and it’s all blank emptiness. You will spend your dead life there- and never be granted rebirth” Seung Hyun never removed his eyes from Ha Yi, making sure to catch every one of her reactions. “So do we have a deal?”

Ha Yi nodded her head, not saying another word, but Seung Hyun needed a verbal agreement so he just stared at her until she finally voiced it. Ha Yi took her time though, weighing her decision. Was she really willing to risk her soul just so she could have a chance to be immortal? Finally be a vampire? It wasn’t like just because she became one she would ever have a chance with the vampire that she had fallen in love with. There would probably never be a chance for her to face such a beautiful feeling ever again, but at the same time, looking at Seung Hyun. Being a vampire would offer a freedom for her to live longer, for her to travel at ease- no longer weak and fragile as she now was. “Yes, we have a deal” she finally muttered.

Seung Hyun smirked, “Perfect, come with me”

Seung Hyun quickly stood and offered her his hand. With slight hesitation she took it. Seung Hyun then led her into the dark hall ways, making Ha Yi wonder where they were going until she recognized the path of the basements. She had only ever heard rumors that such rooms existed at the very low levels of the castle but she had never gotten the chance to see them. Not that she could when it was so dark. Tightening her hold on Seung Hyun’s hand, she allowed him to lead her further in. Seung Hyun could see in the dark, and he could easily see each coffin that was set up in the basement. He could even tell which ones were filled with a shriveled vampire who had given up in life and hoping that next time they woke up they would have better luck, and empty coffins. He finally chose one at the very back, and let go of Ha Yi’s hand as he moved to open the top. He could already see the silk and soft linen that surrounded the coffin and scoffed.

Vampires were such dramatic little things- and always so delicate. It was almost comical.

Seung Hyun grabbed Ha Yi’s wrist, and got her to touch the coffin side. He let her hand go and she allowed her thin fingers to run through the soft material. “A coffin?” she shakily asked.

“Yes,” Seung Hyun said, “I have to warn you, it is going to be a painful process and you will scream at the agony of it, but nothing in life is ever simple, now is it” he said. Ha Yi touched the inside and hesitantly climbed her way into the marshmallow like bed within. She wished Seung Hyun would still hold her hand or give her some sort of comfort or support, but he wasn’t. Seung Hyun needed her to decide everything on her own with no motivation than hers alone. “Just lay back when you are ready” he told her. She nodded her head. “Oh and Ha Yi, as a form of your loyalty to me, I will be taking something from you.” Seung Hyun said. “You might not feel it, but it will be something I can easily crush if you ever do betray me. I won’t tell you what it is though” he told her. Ha Yi nodded her head, taking a shaky breath before allowing herself to fall back and lay down comfortably.

Seung Hyun took one last look at the small human within the coffin, knowing that this would be the last time he would see her as human- pure and innocent. When she became a vampire, she would be different. Her purity and innocence was not going to change, but her soul would no longer be one free of sin. Placing his hand over her forehead, gently pressing the palm he began the lengthy chant. Ha Yi felt tears fill her eyes as she listened to the soothing tones of Seung Hyun’s voice as he spoke words she could never hope to understand. And then her ears were ringing- only for her to later realize that it was actually her screams of agony that were resounding in them.

Seung Hyun reached for a small switchblade that he carried with him and slit his wrist. As blood filled the cut, he placed the blade away and moved his hand to open - and pressed it there. Ha Yi’s screams were muffled but at the same time she greedily on the blood before he snatched her away from him, his cut healed as if it had never been there and he stood. He didn’t look at her screaming writhing form as he reached for the top, and closed the coffin.

“See you in a few days’” he muttered.

The next day Seung Hyun busied himself with making sure that Dong Wook didn’t get a chance to irritate Ji Yong at all. He sighed as he pressed a hand to his temple and had to force himself to relax. He was so hungry that he kept himself from going to go see Ji Yong train. All he could think now was that it was just an excuse for him to feed on Ji Yong’s energies. But at least Dong Wook was entertainment enough. The man looked so ridiculous as he found himself either sneezing or coughing too much. But really, he wasn’t a bad man. Maybe a little persistent, but his heart was in the right place. He just wanted Ji Yong’s happiness. But Seung Hyun had to wonder if he was blind- Ji Yong was happy. The young vampire seemed to glow with it. Or perhaps Seung Hyun was the one that was confused- what did he know about happiness anyways? It wasn’t as if he had ever had much of it in his life.

But at the same time as he learned more about Dong Wook, and compared him to Ji Yong to see if they were a matching pair- he could see that they were not. The difference was there in their souls. Dong Wook’s soul had never been scarred or burned by any pain of having to lose someone- or even witness anyone’s death. Unlike Ji Yong’s soul that seemed a bit fractured from past emotions as well more mature than Dong Wook’s. The difference was uncanny and yet neither of them could understand each other…so why would Dong Wook follow Ji Yong around. No one could heal a soul’s pain, but one could sooth it and make it better- but it was always there as a reminder. Ji Yong seemed to have grown past his pains and that was enough for Seung Hyun. Not that comparing souls would make him let Dong Wook get close.

Finally, by the end of a long and painful but fun day for Seung Hyun, Dong Wook had gone to see the nurses, asking to be checked for everything. The moment that nurse Gummy decided to give him a cavity check, Seung Hyun decided that it was humiliation enough. He left and decided that it was about time to make Ji Yong’s dinner. He would probably be back in any minute now from training complaining about how dirty he was, but also how hungry.

“Seung Hyun!” Ji Yong came out of nowhere and tackled Seung Hyun. His arms wrapped around Seung Hyun’s neck and shoulders, while his face buried itself on his back, where he playfully growled. “Come join me and my brothers! We’re going to play video games in the dungeons.” He offered.

“Ji Yong, you’re going to harm him if you keep hanging off him like that” Young Bae chided as he walked past.

“Ignore him!” Seungri said as he was following right behind him, but paused to grin at Seung Hyun “He’s always been really motherly or something” he giggled.

“And you love him cause he babies you” Daesung hoped in out of nowhere, widely grinning as he did so. Seungri hissed at him, and moved towards Ji Yong’s side.

“Not true! He can be mean and tough!”

Laughter filled the room, but Seung Hyun, as hungry as he was quickly started to unlatched Ji Yong from him. “I have to go cook you dinner Ji Yong”

“Oh relax!” Seungri said, “We ordered pizza”

“Come on Seung Hyun, Join us” Daesung hopped around, gesturing for them to hurry up “We got coke as well!” he said as he rushed off. Ji Yong didn’t give Seung Hyun much room to argue about it though, as he dragged the servant to the Dungeons with him.

What the hell is pizza? Seung Hyun grouchily wondered as he dug his heels to the ground and made it difficult for Ji Yong to drag him to the Dungeons.

Well, pizza turned out to be interesting. What seemed to be a round large piece of bread, smothered in sauce, melted cheese, and odd toppings- and it smelled horrid! Seung Hyun of course made the excuse that he had already eaten to keep the others from forcing the food down his throat. He wasn’t exactly ready to explain to them why he didn’t consume any kind of food- solid nor liquid. But at least he did realize that the Coke Daesung had mentioned was some bubbly liquid that made them have burping matches before they were falling asleep. Not that it had done anything about them being boisterous as they played video games and all the laughing. It was worse than when they were drunk.

Yet by the end of the night Seung Hyun had learned how to play several video games.  The control was the oddest thing though, even its shape. When Young Bae and Seungri fell asleep snuggled on the smaller couch and Daesung fell asleep curled on the other end of the larger couch where he and Ji Yong were currently sitting, he couldn’t help but want to know what else it could do. His eyes flickered over to Ji Yong whom was finishing the last of his soda- each one of them had drunk a liter individually. He snatched the empty bottle from him and sniffed at the mouth piece and hissed at the disgusting and acid like smell from it.

How could they have enjoyed that?

Seung Hyun threw the bottle over his shoulder to the back of the couch as he went back to fiddling with the control. Ji Yong burped patting his stomach as he did so, and then turned into Seung Hyun’s side, snuggling close to him, and keeping his head under Seung Hyun’s chin. It felt so nice and safe here with him. His arms wrapped around Seung Hyun’s waist, while his legs kicked lightly, back and forth as he took in the soft scent of his mate.

Seung Hyun pushed several buttons until the television switched from Video output back to regular programs. Seung Hyun blinked as he saw a woman on screen sobbing to herself over the unconscious body of a man that she was currently screaming the name of. Boring, he decided and pressed a few buttons until he learned how to switch the channels. He paused at a cartoon show, and tilted his head at the animation. If you could even call it animation with how awkwardly the character move, or how still some of them held while another one moved…it was horrible.

“Did you enjoy yourself Seung Hyun?” Ji Yong asked as he closed his eyes. “I wanted to share a bit of my childhood with you and what better than video games! Even older people enjoy it so it was perfect, that is if you had fun”

“It was fun” Seung Hyun muttered, changing the channels rapidly, his eyes moving side to side as they tried to catch every detail that was passing by. He finally gave it a rest and the channels paused at a ographic show. Seung Hyun’s eye twitched a little, but Ji Yong tensed up when he heard a girl moan and turned his head to see what Seung Hyun was watching. His eyes widened and before Seung Hyun decided to change the channel, he had snatched it away and done it himself. He then turned off the television.

Seung Hyun was tense, closely watching Ji Yong whom was currently straddling his lap although he was facing away from him. “Um…that…”

“” Seung Hyun supplied. Ji Yong tensed, before he turned around in Seung Hyun’s lap, making the poor blue haired man groan at the feeling.

“Do…do you like…um…things like that?” Ji Yong asked, his fingers curling around the collar of Seung Hyun’s shirt while looking at him with wide eyes. Seung Hyun flinched away from him, wondering if Ji Yong was okay.

“Relax; you are acting as if you have never done it!” Seung Hyun hissed.

“Have you?” Ji Yong immediately asked.

“I have, for my past owner; he would have me seduce both men and women when needed. Sometimes I would them, other times I would just need to get them comfortable enough to tie them up and allow my owner to handle the rest” Seung Hyun found himself excessively explaining before cursing silently under his breath. The look in Ji Yong’s face was not one that he had wanted to see. Now he was looking at him differently, and judging him.

“That’s awful” Ji Yong cried, “How could anyone ever make you do such things, it’s not fair”

Seung Hyun reached for Ji Yong’s wrists and forced him to let go of his shirt, “Stop it Ji Yong! Don’t try to bring down my past life down. I know what was wrong and what was right, but please,” It was his life. He really didn’t want to think about it as being terrible, nor a waste of time. They were talking about years that had shaped him and he really would rather see the positive than the negative of it all.

“I’m sorry” Ji Yong whispered, “But still…I want to show you how it can be different. I can show you better things, and make your life better. I can show you that life is worth living and that it can be filled with fun and happiness…” Ji Yong freed his hands from Seung Hyun’s grasp and brought them to press on each of Seung Hyun’s cheeks. “From now on its you and me,” he whispered, and then captured Seung Hyun’s lips with his own. The kiss was so warm and tender, Seung Hyun found himself feeding off Ji Yong’s tender energies as the young vampire unconsciously pressed them down all on him. He soon stopped himself and tried to pull away but Ji Yong’s mouth was so sweet and welcoming that he couldn’t help but to succumb when Ji Yong wouldn’t stop and he kissed him back. The feel of his inexperienced tongue shyly tracing his lips and coaxing for entrance- the gasp of pleasure as their tongues met for the first time.

The intensity of their mutual feelings…

Sure, Seung Hyun was experienced in ual activities- but it had never been nor felt like this. He knew what was- he had had it before- but he had always been direct and to the point. He never wasted time with such intimacies as kissing or lingering touches. Kissing had never actually been something that he needed to do to seduce anyone. Especially when they were so willing to bend at his will-he didn’t even have to look at their faces when he took their bodies. He didn’t have to do anything! All he had to do was watch them writhe, and touch themselves, and prepare themselves for him. His eyes alone seemed to make them immediately do that without being asked and yet…

Why does it feel so good to be kissed by him? He wondered to himself, kissing back just as messily and eagerly. For all the weird food and the blood that he consumed, Ji Yong’s mouth sure did taste deliciously sweet. And he was drowning in the intoxicating feeling of his own emotions mixed with Ji Yong’s. Their tongues kept fighting each other, and although neither of them were planning to submit to the other, it was nice to enjoy the feeling until air become scarce and they had to breathe again. Ji Yong refused to pull away to far as they both breathed the same air, their lips still brushing until Seung Hyun brought his hand up, and tilted Ji Yong’s a bit. He pressed their foreheads together and finally opened his eyes- looking at Ji Yong. He finally allowed his body to relax and fall over with the comforting weight of Ji Yong on top of him.

Ji Yong was breathless, but soon enough could feel Seung Hyun’s eyes on him and he opened his own to look into the dark fathomless orbs. He could drown and get lost in them all at once. He smiled softly as he leaned into Seung Hyun’s touch. This is where he was most happy, this is where he belonged. He softly sighed, burying his face into Seung Hyun’s neck, laying his body limply over his. “Let’s stay here tonight, and sleep. All of us here together like family” Ji Yong whispered, allowing sleep to claim him.

But although these were Ji Yong’s feelings and hopes for beginning a future with Seung Hyun- Seung Hyun was having contradicting thoughts and feelings as he forced his body to stop feeding. As he felt Ji Yong’s even breath against his throat and he wrapped his arms around his small body. He couldn’t do it, not with how the trust shinned in Ji Yong’s eyes. He couldn’t do this! He was going to have to tell Ji Yong what he was and he was going to have to do it soon. He couldn’t keep feeding on him- nor could he get swept away by his warmth and kisses. He had to be strong. Ji Yong had every right to know what he was.

He could do it for him.

He could be honest for him.

Because he believed in him- because of the innocent of his eyes- because of the way he looked at him

If they could ever hope to share the same sight and watch the same sky. It can’t be, is not me, my heart is so heavy--- Because it was when he kissed him that he felt so many emotions shoot through the very core and center of his tainted and long forgotten soul.

Because he felt it

Because he cared for him

That is why…that is why…

This thing between them had to come to an end.
