Shine Bright Like A Diamond

Chapter Eleven:

Seung Hyun had not expected to be kissed.

No one had ever kissed him before. This was his first one, and he found that he hated it. His hands came up to grip Ha Yi’s shoulder and he roughly pushed her away from him, unlatching her arms from around him. Ha Yi’s eyes remained closed and her lips puckered as Seung Hyun scrubbed at his lips, trying to get rid of the horrid feeling and taste. He felt like he had just committed the hugest mistake of his life and he couldn’t help the feel of his heart hurting, nor how his skin was crawling with disgust, nor how his stomach recoiled in the need to puke. His entire being felt just wrong at that moment- yet another feeling he had never had before and this one was unpleasant.

Ha Yi finally opened her eyes and gave him a cute pout, while trying to get close to him again. Seung Hyun backed away, glaring at her. “What’s wrong Seung Hyun, you should just enjoy it. It’s not like if either of us belongs to anyone…” she silently urged, eyes half open, mouth still pouting, trying once more to get close but froze in her steps.

“Never kiss me again” Seung Hyun growled, his deep voice sounded menacing and cold that Ha Yi felt it strike deep in her heart. She was suddenly scared and the air around her had gone frigid. For the first time since she had kissed him, Ha Yi looked up at Seung Hyun’s face and gasped when she saw his eyes glow a soft blue, and look scarily none human.

Ha Yi took several steps back, “You’re not…” she mumbled, shaking with fear, “What…what are you?” And then someone slapped her. Ha Yi felt the sharp sting on her cheek as her head turned to the side, making tears suddenly stab at her eyes as she tried not to cry. But turning her head, she was shocked at who had slapped her. Even Seung Hyun was surprised when he saw the familiar head of pink and blue hair that belonged to his master.

“Prince G-dragon” Ha Yi gasped her eyes wide, “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry,” she said before she turned away and ran off. Ji Yong watched her go. He knew she was human. He knew that she was probably better suited for Seung Hyun- but his feelings got the better of him. He knew he had no right to slap her, but Seung Hyun was his, whether he knew it or not, and whether she knew it or not. Right now he just hurt though, the pain was too much. His heart was hurting so much and he couldn’t help his sudden rush of emotions.

He wanted to chase after her and kill her

But he wanted more to confront Seung Hyun and understand.

There was no way that Ji Yong was irrational. He wanted the full story from his mate’s lips, and he wanted to hear it all, but he wasn’t sure how to ask about it. He wasn’t even sure if he should even ask. He didn’t know where he stood. “Seung Hyun” he whimpered, his back to Seung Hyun as he repeated his name over and over again in soft whimpers like a broken record, “Seung Hyun, Seung Hyun, Seung Hyun…”

Seung Hyun felt a pang in his heart that he couldn’t understand, but he didn’t like seeing Ji Yong like this. He wanted to ease that pain that he somehow knew Ji Yong was currently feeling. With the light in his eyes diminishing and allowing them to be dark once more, he walked close to him, and wrapped his arms around his shoulders. Pulling Ji Yong back into his chest, he whispered “Will you stop calling my name like that all the time?” he silently buried his face into the soft neck. But he felt the guilt, and he couldn’t help but blame himself. He should have known what she was up to and he should have been able to stop her. Well, never mind that, it was all done now, he was just going to have to figure out how to deal with her later, he had to take care of his master right now. Ji Yong should have never had to see this. This was his entire fault. “I’m sorry”

Hearing Seung Hyun apologize, Ji Yong couldn’t help himself. He turned around and buried his face into Seung Hyun’s chest, while wrapping his arms tightly around him. For the first time in years he cried, and sobbed like a baby. He allowed his heart to hurt, and allowed Seung Hyun to comfort him- although Seung Hyun was freaking out and didn’t know what he should do to stop the tears. It wasn’t like he had ever dealt with his past masters tears before- or anyone for that matter.

At the end of it all, they ended up in Ji Yong’s bedroom. Seung Hyun had pressed a cup of blood to his pouty quivering lips and after it was finished, Ji Yong’s cheeks were flushed and there seemed to be a glow back in his skin. “I’m…I’m going to go shower so we can go shopping,” Ji Yong mumbled, “I mean if you want to go with me of course, I…” he was a bit embarrassed at himself for crying the way he had, but he was feeling so much better now. Seung Hyun’s presence just made him feel fluffy and warm.

Seung Hyun awkwardly patted his head, not knowing what else to do and nodded. “I’ll go with you wherever you ask me to,” he softly said.

Ji Yong got to his feet, but before he could let him leave, he latched a hand around the sleeve of Seung Hyun’s shirt. “Because you want to right, not because I was crying and you feel like you have to…don’t feel sorry for me” he looked down.

“I want to go. And Ji Yong about that kiss Ha Yi gave me, it meant nothing and it won’t happen again. She just was explaining what she was feeling in her heart and got carried away, it was my fault for asking anyway,” Ji Yong looked at Seung Hyun with wide eyes, unable to believe that he was explaining what had happened earlier. “I’ll leave you to get ready now.” Seung Hyun moved to get away but Ji Yong wasn’t done with him just yet.

“Wait…why there?” he asked.

“Huh”

“Why did you guys choose to hide there?”

“Oh…ah, that’s where I watch you train, this was the first time she joined me.” Seung Hyun then pulled his wrist back, “I’m going to go now” he mumbled, before quickly dashing out of the room. Ji Yong on the other hand felt his heart kick and warmth spread to him. Seung Hyun watched him train? He wasn’t sure why that made him happy, but at the same time his cheeks bursted with color and he felt a little nervous now.

Was Seung Hyun always watching him?

Looking over his shoulder a couple of times as he made his way into his bathroom, he kept wondering when Seung Hyun had started to watch him train. Ever since he had gotten Seung Hyun as his servant, his room was spotless. It was so that no dirt seemed to exist in it anymore. His clothes were no longer on the floor, and he could actually see the soft white carpet that surrounded his bed, and the polished mahogany wood that surrounded the other areas. Everything was always in order the way he liked it. His bed was always made. Nothing was ever missing anymore. His jewelry was also beautifully set out for him in display, and his necklaces were untangled. But for such a large room to maintain it spotless like this every day, even when Ji Yong came in dirty dropping his clothes everywhere was amazing if Seung Hyun still had time to spend outside and watch him train.

Most of his meals were now made by Seung Hyun and Ji Yong enjoyed them very much. The taste to them was incredible, like he had never had it before. He thought maybe that Seung Hyun just had a unique palate and way of cooking, but Ji Yong whom sometimes was a picky eater found himself eating every day, all three well balanced meals. Just like this morning when Seung Hyun had cooked him breakfast. But Ji Yong was curious about him now. He wished he could watch Seung Hyun do all these things for him.

Leaving the door of his bathroom slightly ajar like he was used to always doing, he quickly stripped off his shirt, followed by his soft training pants, along with his underwear. Ji Yong ran a hand through his hair, before rubbing at his thin arms and finally walked to the bathtub. Turning on the water he flinched at the ice cold water, and quickly turned the hot water knob to accompany it. When the water was at a temperature that he liked, he went into the tub and allowed the warm stream of water to rush down his head and cascade down his back. He let out a content sigh as he felt his skin being engulf in the heat of the water, before he reached for his shampoo. He moved away from the water, putting his back to it as he poured a large amount of his shampoo into his hair, before lathering it up in his hair. The fresh scent of it soothed his nerves, and Ji Yong drowned himself into the warmth and rich smell. He then grabbed a few scented soaps and began to scrub at his skin, washing away until he felt he was completely clean. His mind kept telling him that Seung Hyun was waiting for him, so he’d better hurry up.

Once he had rinsed off he quickly turned off the water and grabbed the nearest towel that were kept in the bathroom. Facing his closet was a different story now. He needed to make sure that he looked his absolute best. He was obviously having a hard time attracting Seung Hyun to his cool self, so he needed to go for cute, like Ha Yi was. He needed something that would make him look so irresistibly adorable...

Ji Yong pulled on a simple shirt, and jeans, with no jewelry, and a cap. He wasn’t exactly sure what made him cute, but he was sure he could find an outfit at the store that will help him accomplish that. He dashed off to grab his wallet, and then walked outside. But when he walked outside he was surprised to find both Seung Hyun and Dong Wook standing a little away from his bedroom door, both of them at least five feet apart from the other, but both staring each other down.

Ji Yong panicked.

“So your name is Seung Hyun.” The raven haired prince asked, his rigid body straight, and his face aloof.

“Um” Seung Hyun mumbled, looking over Dong Wook’s shoulder now. Not that Dong Wook seemed to notice as he was still taking in the soft blue hair, the beautiful angles, and soft looking skin of this servant. His looks, his skin, his eyes, the very affinity of his being seemed oddly…inviting.

“So, tell me a bit about yourself,” Dong Wook shifted a bit, crossing his arms over his chest as he tried to maintain cool and force himself from tracing his eyes over the beautiful neck. That neck, every line, and soft curve, the muscle under it…the very thought of his blood running inside in most than likely soft, juicy veins.

“Ji Yong,” Seung Hyun said instead, and Dong Wook had to raise his eyes from Seung Hyun’s throat, to his face. He noticed that Seung Hyun was looking over his shoulder and he turned around to see Ji Yong standing there. The young vampire heir waved at Dong Wook, before dashing his way towards Seung Hyun. Dong Wook completely missed it when he blinked, but Ji Yong’s arms were now latched around Seung Hyun’s and Dong Wook frowned.

“Prince Seven, I see you were getting yourself familiar with Seung Hyun here, but really, I have to take him now. We’re going to go shopping.” He smiled, and Seung Hyun had to note that the smile was actually a mean one. How did Ji Yong accomplish such a feat?

“Just you and the servant, aren’t you going to go with your brothers?” Dong Wook asked, his eyes not knowing whom to settle on. Seung Hyun’s attractive features, or Ji Yong’s cute adorable and beautiful features.

“No, they are training,” Ji Yong waved, “Bye” he said, tugging on Seung Hyun’s arm to drag him along with him. Seung Hyun didn’t put any resistance against him, he simply let his master lead him to wherever it was that they were going to go. Dong Wook on the other hand moved to stand in front of them, blocking their path.

“Prince G-dragon, this is unacceptable! I can’t let you go alone with him, I think it will be best if I came with you both” Dong Wook glared at Ji Yong whom was now glaring back at him. Seung Hyun silently watched from between the both of them. What was he supposed to do in a situation like this? Dong Wook was starting to annoy him.

“Move out of the way Prince Seven, I am perfectly capable of taking care of myself” Ji Yong snapped in return, making Dong Wook bare his fangs at him.

“You’re too young to go on your own without at least your brothers,” Dong Wook insisted, “At least two vampires will be better than one. What if someone attacks you?” Dong Wook then pointed at Seung Hyun “A measly human like your servant is sure to be a burden than any real help to you if such a thing were to happen!” Because of this Ji Yong couldn’t help but bare his fangs back at the older vampire.

“I make my own decisions Prince Seven, don’t try to hold my hand”

“I’m trying to be rational here, no one ever goes alone without someone. It’s better if the both of us were to go, I can’t help but feel like you will be in danger if you go alone. Then It will be my fault for allowing you to step out alone” Dong Wook walked closer to Ji Yong and tried to place his hand on his shoulders.

“Your problem, not mine” Ji Yong’s eyes flashed in anger, “Now move”

“No” Dong Wook refused.

“Move!”

“No”

“Get out of the way!”

“I said No”

“You’re annoying,”

“Whatever works,”

“Leave me alone!” Ji Yong tried to push him out of the way, but Dong Wook moved backwards and moved fast to grab his wrist. He then pulled Ji Yong into his chest, his other hand moving to cup Ji Yong’s soft jaw, making him look up at him.

“Let’s not forget, I’m stronger. Stop trying to fight me”

Ji Yong was about to punch Dong Wook in the gut when the man suddenly gasped, his face flushing a bright red across his nose. He let go of Ji Yong and doubled over, trembling with recoil and pain before he spluttered blood from both his mouth and nose. “Argh” he puked even more blood, before he completely stopped. Still, it left him gasping for breath, and feeling odd. Ji Yong himself was surprised and slightly disgusted as he moved back to hide behind Seung Hyun. He didn’t want to touch the blood that Dong Wook had spilled.

Seung Hyun darted his eyes towards Ji Yong and silently cursed himself inside of his head. He had allowed his own feeling get the better of him. He was not sure why but had hated even the idea of Dong Wook touching Ji Yong and had retaliated the only way that he knew how. That meant squeezing the very blood out of every entrails and organs inside of Dong Wook’s body. Sighing at himself, he closed his eyes and the blood that had been splashed on the floor disappeared as if it had never been there. The floor and even Dong Wook’s clothes were cleaned. Ji Yong blinked in surprise and moved closer to take a look at Dong Wook.

“Uh, what just happened, what was that?” he asked.

Dong Wook trembled, unsure if anything had actually happened. He cleared this throat though, feeling embarrassed. He got to his feet, and dusted himself off of any invisible dirt. “Well you seem to be alright now,” Ji Yong said, “but that looked pretty nasty, don’t you think you should stay in and go to see a nurse, I’m sure one of them will enjoy taking care of you”

“Yah, I should”

“Good, go” Ji Yong reached over to Seung Hyun, grabbing his sleeve and pulled him along with him. Dong Wook was left dumbfounded for a second until he realized that Ji Yong and that servant Seung Hyun were both gone. He then cursed himself, and rushed off to go after them.

This was Seung Hyun’s first time actually out in this city. He had traveled to many places in his life time, but he really couldn’t remember much about this place. The only time he could remember being outside was when he was first brought here to go to be with his previous master’s son. He could still remember it as clear as day, the reason why his master was dead. The reason why he had failed to protect him. The many reason’s that bound him to earth and even though it had felt hallow and confusing in the end- he had been free.

He had been so close to going back home.

But compared to his previous master, Ji Yong was sure different. He was bubbly, and full of energy. Then again, Ji Yong was a baby whom was more than likely still in the prime and happiness of his life. His previous master had said that the closer you get to your hundreds, the more that you could see yourself becoming bitter with life- especially when you didn’t have that extra sweetness that life provided in a box wrapped of love and devotion. He said that it was for the fools. That love wasn’t exactly all that was cracked up to be because at the end of the day it wasn’t love that kept you together or made you be with that person you cared about, but it was just being there. No questions asked, no reasons, just there.

That was happiness.

Seung Hyun didn’t understand what that meant, but he was sure that life would be just fine so long as that one person that mattered to you stayed around. Not that Seung Hyun had ever had a person that actually mattered to him. He just lived life day by day with no real goal- unless he was given one- or care, unless called for. But now his goals seemed to consist on keeping an eye on Ji Yong, making sure he is alright and then there was that bout of uncalled for care that he felt for Ji Yong. At least he thinks it was care, after all, why would he want to keep Dong Wook away from him?

“Look at this Seung Hyun, come here” Ji Yong urged as he rushed ahead into a store. Seung Hyun stayed back though, sensing that they were being followed. While Ji Yong was distracted inside, Seung Hyun spotted their stalker. Dong Wook didn’t spot them though, as he ended up in Seung Hyun’s confusing clutches and with a pleased hum the blue haired man watched as Dong Wook was redirected back to the castle and far away from them.

“Simple minded and incompetent vampires” he growled under his breath, before walking into the store to follow Ji Yong. Ji Yong had picked several shirts already and glanced up with a smile when he saw Seung Hyun approach him.

“There you are,” he said, throwing the shirts at Seung Hyun, “Go try those on” he huffed, and moved to go pick out even more. They were all shirts that he wished to see Seung Hyun in, and jeans, sweat pants for comfort, and just anything that caught his attention. He had to pause himself at a tie though, thinking other thoughts other than dressing Seung Hyun was not what he had in mind. After all, thinking of undressing Seung Hyun from all these clothes seemed to be a very entertaining thought as well.

He grabbed several more clothing, before he and Seung Hyun were paying and moving to another store. He couldn’t help himself but get just the best of the best, and high mark clothing- each one of them charged to his card. He even got Seung Hyun his own chef outfit if he was ever going to be working in the kitchen again when it came to bigger meals that required the costume.

Seung Hyun at some point started to ask Ji Yong to stop it already. He already had several bags of clothes! There was enough clothes already to dress him for every day of the year, really, it was excessive in his thoughts. But Ji Yong wasn’t listening as he took him to a jewelry store. When they finally walked outside from whatever had been bought, he felt confused when Ji Yong said “Wait till you see what I got you” as he gushed over his jewelry and refused to let Seung Hyun carry those bags. He just carried it himself, looking over every piece with a shine in his eyes.

Note to self, shiny jewelry makes Ji Yong go crazy.

“Don’t tell me you want to keep shopping,” Seung Hyun asked, not that carrying bags full of clothing was much of a bother, but he really wished that he didn’t have to. He also was sure it was time for Ji Yong to eat, and he had to be feeding him.

“We just have one more place to go okay” Ji Yong sweetly smiled at him as he said so. “And for this one I will need your help”

“Oh” Seung Hyun blinked, and looked up at the new shops name. It was a pretty warm looking shop, and seemed to sell clothes made for women and men, but the style seemed…cute. It seemed the complete opposite of his fierce master. When he followed Ji Yong inside, Ji Yong immediately started to ask him what he would like to see on him.

“Come on, choose something and I will try it on for you to see and you tell me if you like it” Ji Yong said, looking through the clothes. Seung Hyun froze.

“Why would you want me to choose?” he asked.

“Come on” Ji Yong urged, “Choose something. Don’t be such a chicken! This isn’t math class.”

“Math is simple, Ji Yong” Seung Hyun said, “Trying not to offend you seems more complicated,”

“What do you mean offend?” Ji Yong snapped.

“These clothes…are not you” Seung Hyun said, “They seem so cute compared to your sharp and cool style that you use”

“I want a new look, and I want you to help me, stop trying to say I only have one look!” Ji Yong snapped, “I can be cute as well! Watch” Ji Yong snatched several clothes and went into a dressing room. Seung Hyun swallowed hard and deeply hoped that this was not going to be a pain on his side. But he didn’t get it, Ji Yong himself said it- he was adorable- so why was he trying to prove that by wearing these clothes.

Not that he could say much when Ji Yong would step out wearing little cute beanies with either kitty ears, or bunny ears. The colorful clothing, cute drawings on the front. The way the jeans fit him that was cute. The globes with happy faces. It was too much and he just kept saying that he liked it, and before long Ji Yong had himself what he considered a whole new wardrobe to add to what he already had at home.

Seung Hyun wondered if he would even find the room. There were already racks of clothing at the back that Ji Yong seemed to have not work in years now. Amazingly enough, it all led to even Ji Yong’s younger years of clothing, from his baby clothes to toddler, and adolescent. It was amazing, and it only seemed like Ji Yong was going to add and never take away.

But at least now they were done.

“Would you like me to help you place your clothes away?” Ji Yong asked, looking at the bags that Seung Hyun was carrying.

“It’s okay, I’ll put them away myself. I’ll feed you first” he said. Ji Yong blinked and then noticed that he was hungry. The blood Seung Hyun had given him earlier had sustained him from noticing that he was actually hungry. Seeing as he had not eaten since breakfast and it was already late evening and more than time for dinner.

Ji Yong hummed, and then snatched his own bags of clothes from Seung Hyun and grinned. “I’ll put my own away then!” he said.

Seung Hyun raised an eyebrow at him, “And what would you want to eat?”

“Um…can you make something with meat?” Ji Yong asked, always indecisive about what he actually wanted. Seung Hyun was going to have to get creative again. Not that it helped much, he didn’t even know if the food he made for Ji Yong tasted well. He just relied on his very instincts on what he cooked- and besides- the worst that it smelled the more that they seemed to like it the most.

“Alright, something with meat it is,” Seung Hyun said.

“Yay” Ji Yong cheered as they were back in the castle. Seung Hyun was about to depart from him and tell him that dinner would be done in an hour, but Ji Yong spoke before him, “Before you go, there’s something I want to give you, but in my room, okay” he smiled.

Seung Hyun followed Ji Yong to his room and watched as Ji Yong set everything on the bed. He then opened his jewelry bag and pulled something out, before he skipped over to Seung Hyun and pulled him towards the couch. He forcefully sat him down and then moved around to stand at the back, pulling a shimmering gold necklace around Seung Hyun’s neck, with a cross pendant on it. Ji Yong was about to latch it when he noticed something on the base of Seung Hyun’s neck and gasped. He latched the necklace before he ran his fingers over the pattern of the matching mating mark.

Seung Hyun on the other hand stiffened, his eyes glaring at the cross before his attention was diverted to Ji Yong whom was currently caressing the mark at the center of his nape. “It looks so much like mine” Ji Yong whispered. He leaned over Seung Hyun and turned his head to him, brushing his hair aside, “see, it looks like this, both our marks”

So Ji Yong knew about their marks?

But he thought he was human…then…

“What are those marks?” Seung Hyun asked with clueless written all over his face. Ji Yong’s cheeks flushed.

“Well I guess I can tell you” he softly said. “You see, when you were about to die, I felt there was only one way to save you. That was by giving you some of my life force…it would unavoidably bond us, but in ours it wasn’t a normal bond…we’re actually mated”

“Mated?” Seung Hyun asked.

“Yes mated…as in…” Ji Yong stuttered and blushed even more, “as in…we’re both bonded…by more, and we’re like married, you know, our lives are like one now. Just you and me, tied together”

Seung Hyun’s eyes were wide.

Mated?

As in Ji Yong and he were tied together as if they were lovers, or even more…like partners sharing the same soul. It didn’t work that way! Not for his kind. Not in this way! Not at this position in his life- This wasn’t going to work at all…

Their life wasn’t shared as Ji Yong probably knew it should be.

No.

Ji Yong’s life belonged to him.

A life he could easily end if he wasn’t careful.

“I have to go make your dinner” Seung Hyun said. Ji Yong gasped and nodded. Just as Seung Hyun was about to get up, Ji Yong stopped him.

“Oh, Seung Hyun don’t worry about it. I know you’re human and you probably don’t understand what it is to be mated, but…just know it means that we will be there for each other, no matter what. You are mine and I am yours” he hugged him. “Promise you won’t let Ha Yi ever kiss you or anything again, please”

Seung Hyun nodded, “I promise,” he turned his head towards Ji Yong to look him in the eye. He knew that was one promise that he could keep.

“And never take that necklace off; it’s my present to you” Ji Yong added.

Seung Hyun nodded once more. Ji Yong delightfully smiled at him, before leaning down towards him and shyly pecked him on the lips. Then he was gone, back on his bed gushing about his new jewelry. Seung Hyun was in shock. That kiss, that simple peck to his lips had made his heart skip and his face flush in a pleasant way that made him feel confused about kisses…He like this one better than his first one.

Seung Hyun watched Ji Yong before standing up and leaving him alone to do what he pleased. Once he got to his room, and dropped off the bags he headed into the kitchen to cook for Ji Yong. Right there he saw Ha Yi.

“You and I both need to talk” Both of them hissed towards each other in low whispers, before getting back to work.
