Guilty Pleasure
“Is it me or did we destined to be together, why is everybody here?” Eunhyuk boasting happily like an idiot “do you all play hooky too?” he added
“nah… how can we destined to be together? It’s just, rainy day is the best time for skipping class” Jessica replied with her icy tone
“yeah whatever. anyway let's get the party started” Eunhyuk shouted eagerly as if partying is the thing he likes more than anything in this world
“You're here too, Seohyun” Tiffany greet her, she was sitting alone on the couch
“Hay Fanny” Seohyun raising her eyes to look at her
“Where are Yoona and Sooyoung? They aren’t here? “
“No, they'd still be in their class” Seohyun replied
“I bet, you're here with Kyuhyun, right? he asked you to ditching class and brought you here instead. Aish ... he really gives you a bad influence” the chatty Tffany grumbled
“uh… no it’s not-“
“someone is talking about me?” out of the blue Kyuhyun barged into the conversation
“Wait, did you said that I'm a bad influence? Then what about Siwon? because I'm sure you're here because of him” Kyuhyun smirked
“Ya! You…!!!”
“Yes, yes. the guy who took her here is me. Won’t anyone else do the same thing with me? I can’t bear to see a rain-enthusiast kid being alone in the balcony, doing nothing but watching the rain drops when the classes take place” he defended jokingly
“a kid? Who? Me? How annoying” Seohyun grunts
“Annoying right? Boy are all the same. Siwon always call me a kid too just because I'm obsessed with pink and Barbie. I mean, Barbie in pink, they’re so cute, aren’t they?” Tiffany babbling. no one can’t stop her when she's talking about her favorite stuff
“well, I think Siwon is true about this one thing” Seohyun said jokingly
“what!?”
“one hundred percent true” she emphasizes faking a serious face. As always, Tiffany is so easy to mocked about her pink obsession. And it always makes Seohyun laughed by her friend cuteness.
And a smile curved on Kyuhyun’s lips unwittingly when he saw Seohyun with her witty side. Her face radiant with solemn delight everytime she joked with her girls. He noticed how beautiful the girl before him is. Her hair was a rich shade of mahagony. It flowed in waves to adorn her glowing, porcelain-like skin. Her eyes, framed by long lashes, were a bright, hazel and seemed to brighten the world. Her hug smile, it lightened up the room. And he felt a butterflies effect hit his stomach, she always had that effect on him, had had it, in fact, for years
“I can't believe I didn't see this until now” a voice suddenly rang in his ears
“See what?” Kyuhyun asked coolly. He gulped her drink to get rid of his nervousness; he knew where this conversation leads to
“You're in love with her. It's all over your face” Kyuhyun shifted his gaze, only to be greeted by a pair of eyes looking at him
“Donghae-ah, that's ... that's crazy. Come on” he chuckled. he consider it only as a joke, but the laughter stopped when he saw Donghae eyeing him with his laser eyes. The mood changed in an instant, the heat attack, and sweat began to form on his forehead
“look, I don’t mean to pry on someone's business. But it is you, Yoona and Seohyun, of course I couldn’t let this happen just like that” Donghae said as he shifted his gaze to Seohyun “I hope you can dealing with your own feelings. And if you hurt one of them, I really wouldn’t let it down” he emphasizes and walked away
Donghae is not the serious one and the always-pry-on-others-business type guy, but if this is his best friends’ matters, he sure makes an action. He knew Kyuhyun too well to not understand what he’s going trough now, though Kyuhyun, himself isn’t sure about his own feeling.
“Hallo” Kyuhyun pick up the phone
“Kyuhyun? where are you? I couldn’t find you anywhere” a girl’s voice is unclearly heard in the other line
“what? I can’t hear you. Hold on!” he replied as he walked toward a balcony, leaving the crowd inside
“you’re at Eunhyuk’s suite. Am I right?” the girl behind the phone; Yoona said right after she’s sure Kyuhyun is on the phone
“yes you are” he replied simply
“what? You’re ditching classes again?” angry tone is heard
“I didn’t intend to, it’s just that I woke up so late this morning so I ended up being here instead”
“the same reason as always” a paused “is Seo with you?” Yoona asked warily
“yes she is” for some reason, anxiety rushing in her vein whenever she heard Seohyun is with him
“wait for me. I’ll be there” she said in a rush
“eh? Today is your ‘father and daughter’ day thing, isn’t it? What about your father?” he asked, wondered
“About it—my dad suddenly got a call from his office, he had to go right away. So I have nothing to do” she reasoned. Lying of course
“okay… see you here” and hang up
Kyuhyun stood in the balcony alone which was overlooking to the beautiful garden with colored flowers below. The afternoon sun is shining brightly flickering through the skyscrapers. He closed his eyes and slowly took a deep breath catching some air, the scent of the flowers from the garden lingers in his nose as the wind softly carried them
“You're in love with her” is all on his mind. The words that he's been avoiding, the words that alerted him to the fact. Kyuhyun took another gulp of his drink. The only way to tolerate the thought of the harsh reality.
So he really do love Seohyun? Is it a new growing love or an unwitting old love? For sure he didn’t know which one is the correct answer
For him, The two girls are the most important person in his life, someones who have been drawing millions of colors on his plain canvas of life. he loves both of them. But then again which one a truly love and an I-love-you-as-a-friend love is? neither he doesn’t know what the other meant by it
Seohyun, he had always though her as his best friend, his playmate, a sister since young. He admire her since he first saw her-her deep, enthralling, effervescent, champagne-brown eyes that seemed too large and mature for her when she was child. She had a cheerful character, a bubbly outlook yet she had a strong personality behind her tender feature. She had a mother-figure that makes people feel comfortable around her. He always had that pleasurable feeling when she’s around. He can always talked to her and felt comfortable talking to her unlike any of the girls he had met or his other best friends. That’s why Seohyun become the closest person and knows Kyuhyun inside outside compared to the others. Therefore he has always thought that her feelings for Seohyun is just a feeling of awe, a love for friend, because she is the only person who understands him.
Yoona, on the other hand is completely different, and exact opposite of her, was a quiet and shy girl. She had a genteel persona. she was fragile, like a porcelain doll. Yoona was like Seohyun’s tail, stick to her like glue and every little thing Seohyun did she’ll copied. She turned into a lost girl whenever Seohyun wasn’t around. She looked cute with her deer-like eyes, she was delightful, a cherub. One hot August weekend, the summer before tenth grade, Kyuhyun had been in the city with his parent, while Seo, Lee and Choi family was still in Jeju to spend their summer holidays. Yoona was up in her house, stuck in his room a whole summer since his parents were too busy for the summer holidays. When Kyuhyun called, Yoona hopped right into SNU Station. Kyuhyun met Yoona on the platform. She stepped off the train wearing a light blue silk slip dress and pink rubber flip-flops. Her hair was midnight-black and it loose over her shoulder to roam in the middle of summer breeze. She looked like an angel. How lucky he was. Life didn’t get any better than the moment when Yoona flip-flopped down the platform, threw her arms around his neck, kissed him on the cheek, a surprising kiss and said “how could you leave me here alone? I really miss you”. They spend time together all day, do whatever they want, and wandered around just followed their feet. Oddly enough, it was the first time they’d ever been alone together and noticed. And being with her was different, He had the feeling, the urge to keep her from any harm. So for the first time he concluded, he was so much in love with his childhood friend.
But time flies so fast and with his one special night experience with Seohyun, he began to doubt his own feelings, he knew it is more-than-a-friend feeling. Remember when Seohyun decided to go to New York and leave her life in Seoul? Kyuhyun was the first to know the decision. one week after her departure he had been intermittently baked, drunk, and looked woozy and rumpled. They could see the emptiness in his eyes, showing a non-exist soul, not mentioning the others also missed Seohyun with her disappearance, but they had to go on living, so they just pretended all is fine as ever even though they know it didn’t. This is the modern times after all, they can contact Seohyun whenever they want. But unlike the other, Kyuhyun was like can’t get over Seohyun from his mind. He obviously missed her, much. Yoona, Donghae and Sooyoung noticed the change but they also don't know what was really struck him. There's just something obvious about emptiness, even when you try to convince yourself otherwise.
One thing to note, He loves both of them. It’s so pathetic, don’t know what to do.
Someone said the problem with falling for a friend is that you won’t know if it love till the moment you are about to lose her forever. And sometimes the one you love turns out to be the one who hurts you the most, and sometimes the friend who takes you into his arms and cries when you cry turns out to be the love you never knew you wanted.
