Yamapi- Loveless instrumental

-----------

Almost a year had gone by.

Haewon became adjusted to life in Canada. Her English improved dramatically, thanks to Kris. Kris Wu, her new friend.

At first she was wary to even be near him. She assumed that his real purpose of befriending her was because he wanted a good laugh. It seemed too good to be true that someone was prosperous and attractive as him would want to be with someone with a shortcoming.

Kris proved true to his words.

He was kind. He was funny. He was patient.

Every day, little by little, she was starting to open up to him. Yet, her heart always remained with Luhan. She read over his first and last letter and tried to solve the Rubik’s Cube puzzle many times. Every day, she prayed that she would be reunited with Luhan soon.

Haewon sat in the library studying for her final exams. Her hands drifted over the Braille words. She felt someone enclosing the space around her and paused. Lips came next to her face, and a gentle tune was whistled in her ear. *She smells like flowers. Like lilacs.* He thought.

In recognition, Haewon lifted up her face and stared ahead of her. Slightly, she turned her face to be almost face-to-face with the whistling figure. Haewon pushed the empty chair out next to her. “Sit.” She simply ordered.

Kris plopped down with a huff of his breath. “You didn’t even check if it was me. I told you. You should always make sure that it is me. What if it’s some strange guy who is trying to take advantage of you?”

Haewon smiled a little. “I know it’s you now.”

“Still, you should check. What if I’m an imposter?” Kris took her hands and placed them on his cheeks.

*I can see right through your tactic.* Haewon shook her head. She smoothed his cheeks and let her fingers rest on his nose. Then she gave his nose a good, hard tweak.

“Ow!” Kris yelped and leaned back. “What are you? A crab?”

“I was just checking to make sure you weren’t an ‘imposter’.” Haewon shrugged innocently.

“By pulling on my nose to see if I’m a real boy? I’m not Pinocchio.” Kris clucked his tongue.

“You sure do lie like one.” Haewon said.

Kris smiled. It was her sharp, honest tongue that he liked best about her. “Are you studying?” He asked.

“Yes. Shouldn’t you be, too?” She questioned. “Finals are less than a month away.”

“I don’t like to study at the library.” Kris said. Haewon shook her head. *Excuses.*

“Did you eat?” He asked. She shook her head. “Not yet.”

“Then come on. Let’s grab something to eat. My treat.” Kris stood up.

“How come it’s always your treat?” Haewon asked.

“Because I’m the one that suggested it first. If you want to pay, ask me first.” Kris grasped her arm and lifted her up. “Go ahead and pack up.”

“Why are you so pushy?” Haewon sighed.

“Why are you so stubborn? Come on, Alana. Chop-chop.” Kris snapped his fingers in front of her face.

Haewon swiped at it with her lips jutted out in annoyance.

Alana Cho. That was the English name Kris had given her. She liked it and thought it was pretty.

Haewon closed her books and pushed them into her backpack. She felt for the zipper and after finding it, she zipped her backpack close. Kris took her backpack and slung it over his shoulder. He grasped her hand and tugged her forward. Haewon pulled her hand away with a look. “It’s my eyes that can’t see. My legs work perfectly fine. I can find myself to the door perfectly.”

*Of course, the independent Alana Cho wouldn’t dare let a gentleman guide her to the door. Bai chi. I wasn’t trying to help her. I just…wanted to hold her hand.* “Lead the way.” Kris stepped aside. Haewon held out her hands and headed towards the exit. Kris pushed a button, and the doors opened automatically.

Haewon stepped out of the library, and the warm sun greeted her. “See? I made it, all by myself.” She smiled proudly.

“You proved me wrong yet again. Can I lead you to my car now?” Kris asked.

Haewon paused before holding out her hand. With a shake of his head and a growing smile on his lips, he grasped her hand and led her towards the parking lot.

---------

After pasta, Kris took Haewon back to her condo. She felt bad that he always paid for her meals and invited him inside for tea.

Haewon unlocked the door with her key and stepped inside. “Come in.” She called.

Kris stepped inside their humble home. This was the first time he had actually come here. He looked around the neat, cozy place. *It smells like Alana.* Kris smiled.

Haewon felt th
