Special chapter~

"Now I want you to tell me the saddest love story you have ever encountered." The class had some spare time in English class. And given that it was an English class, classics would never be out of topic. Shakespeare would therefore never be left out for his tragic stories are greatly recognized.

A girl raised her hand eagerly. She knew the exact love story to tell. It was her love story—before.

“Well, it all began when two babies were born in a different place and time. The boy grew up to be a successful young man who roams around the world to showcase his talent while the girl stayed in the sea of faces who admired him. He doesn’t know her, but she knows him, from his real name to what his favorite color is. She sends him love letters, even if she’s aware that he won’t be able to read it and she has to pay loads of money just to watch him perform for a few hours. That pattern goes on and on, unceasingly. The boy continues to walk in his dream, while the girl could only look at him with pure admiration, and sadly, that’s how it’ll end. The boy…will never know just how much the girl loves him.”

The room was filled with sniffs, ‘awws’, and sobbing. It was a sad story indeed—a one-sided love that never had the chance to reveal its self.

Their English teacher frowned at the girl. “That’s quite sad.” He commented.

The girl just smiled at him. She nodded her head approvingly and said, “Oh, the life of a fangirl really is sad, Teach.”

“I’m sorry, what?” The teacher wasn’t able to understand what she was saying. Well—most people usually don’t. Fangirls have their own worlds. No one could easily understand them. It’s because they think deeper and feel deeper more than other people could ever imagine.

“Nope, nothing.” The girl said and sat back on her seat.

That girl’s name is Lee Hyebin—high school student, a Kpop fan and a fangirl.

“Hyebin-ah! Let’s go to the bubble tea shop.” Her friends were eager to go and have some bubble tea today. But Hyebin refused. There’s something really important she has to do right now.

“Sorry, guys. Not today.” Hyebin excused herself with a sincere apology.

Any day but not today.

It’s been a month since she last saw him and she’s longing to see him so badly.

Hyebin waited impatiently for the bus. She knew that the line would be long. And the clouds do look like they’re heavy. Sooner or later, she’s quite sure that it would pour.

She kept glancing on her wrist watch and rocked on her heels back and forth. Finally, when the bus came, she flashed her bus pass to the driver and can’t help being excited at today’s event.

She earned hard for this thing. She didn’t want her boyfriend to give her the ticket. She wanted to work for it. She wanted to show her support for him by buying her own ticket.

Alas, it was 5:33 in the afternoon and she was right. She didn’t doubt that the line would already be this long. Hyebin sighed and took her place in the line. She’d still have to wait for a couple more hours to get in the dome.

Fast forward to 7:20, she was lucky to be seated already. She received a text from him asking, “Where are you seated?”

Hyebin smiled and replied her location. She placed her phone against her chest and sighed contentedly. Everything still felt like a dream.

The performance started at exactly 8:00. The dome was filled with red light sticks and screaming girls. Yes, this is the life of every fangirl in this dome.

The story that was told a while ago was the life of every girl inside this dome. Thousands, hundreds, millions of girls live a life like this. They live their lives happily however it’s sad as it seems.

Hyebin is a fangirl too. However, luckily, she does not love one-sidedly like any other girl in this dome. She has Wu Yi Fan.

EXO came out of the stage wearing their costumes and make up. Every girl in the dome screamed.  To pay for this concert which they’ve saved up so hardly for was worth it if they see their bias.

EXO continued with their performance MAMA. They sang and danced every song they had on their album. Every move was appreciated. Every smile was felt at heart.

When it was Kris’s turn on rapping, she shouted, “Saranghae Wu Yi Fan!!!!”

Kris didn’t hear it amongst the crowd. But it didn’t matter. He could return it later.

Just like every girl, Hyebin is captivated with her bias, Kris. Who wouldn’t be? I mean, tall nose, y jaw line, piercing eyes, kissable lips…

I'm captivated by you, baby

Like a fireworks show

But what’s more is that, Kris is more than just the cover. He had a core. He is Wu Yi Fan. Hyebin didn’t think how it matters on the outside. It was on the inside that made her fall in love with him.

When the show was over, Hyebin waited until past midnight just for all the fangirls to disperse. She headed quickly to the back entrance and waited patiently under the pouring rain.

After several minutes passed, a guy dressed in all black and disguised perfectly emerged. Hyebin smiled, not doubting a bit if the guy’s a holdaper or not. It’s because she knows him from every angle. She’d dreamed of him and memorized his features just as much as Kris did when he first saw her.

“I’m sorry, I kept you waiting for long.” He apologized and kissed the back of his girlfriend’s hand.

“I won’t say ‘it’s okay’ ‘cause it’s really hard to wait under the rain, you know.” Hyebin rolled her eyes playfully. Kris poked her cheek and planted a kiss on it.

“I’m sorry. And thank you, for being so understanding.” He apologized again and planted another kiss, on her forehead this time.

“Whatever, giant. Let’s go before we get sick.” Hyebin started to pull Kris away but he refused to. Instead, he carried her in the middle of the pouring rain.

“Okay, what do you want, Yi Fan?” Hyebin asked, flexing her muscles.

“I want to play under the rain.” He said, too childishly, in fact.

“Then go play, I will watch you.” Hyebin said, with crossed arms.

“Nope, I want to play with you.” Kris knew her weakness. His fingers slid to her side. Hyebin twitched when a sensitive part somewhere near her ribs  was touched.

“Gotcha now!” Kris chuckled in delight as he embraced her with tickles.

Hyebin barely escaped, running under the rain even though she knows that Kris would soon catch up with his impossibly long legs.

“Yah!!!!” Hyebin squealed as Kris caught her by the waist and spun her around.

“I missed you.” Kris whispered, smiling.

“No, you don’t. I shouted I love you a while ago and you didn’t say I love you back.” Hyebin pouted and squeezed Kris’s nose between her fingers.

“Oh, baby, I’m sorry. I didn’t hear. I swear.” Kris enveloped her in an embrace and caressed her face with his thumb.

“I know.” Hyebin said with a sigh.

Kris pulled out from the hug to see her face. He honestly missed his girlfriend. He looked at her in the eyes, under the pouring rain.

He smiled once again and it lit up Hyebin’s world with sparks. They flew everywhere possible in her mind. Kris swept her bangs away and Hyebin cocked an eyebrow.

“We’re under the rain, you and me. Alone.” Hyebin pointed out.

“What?” Kris asked, his smile growing wider.

“Kiss me you fool, I missed you too.” Hyebin said and placed her arms around Kris’s neck.

Kris leaned in and placed his soft lips against hers. He was smiling through the kiss, grateful of this moment he has with his girl. Sparks were also clouding his mind. Their lips moved in a slow dance, sync and gentle. Like a young love. Pure and innocent.

"I love you more." Kris said in a whisper, leaning deeper for another kiss.

Drop everything now, meet me in the pouring rain

Kiss me on the sidewalk, take away the pain

'Cause I see sparks fly

Whenever you smile

Not every fangirl has a sad love story.

Lee Hyebin. Hers is not.

And not every fangirl finds her true love in a bias.

Hyebin did not.

She didn't end up with Kris.

She ended up with Wu Yi Fan

~End~

A/N: was it crappy? :/
