Chapter 4

“I’ll miss you, Yul.” Yunho said and kissed his wife’s forehead. His heart was feeling heavy since last night. It’s the first time he’ll be away from Yuri since she got pregnant. He’ll surely miss cuddling her every night.

“Yah! Stop being mushy. You’ll see each other after a week.” Junsu interjected.

Yunho glared at him. “Marry Taeyeon so that you’d stop being envious of us.”

Junsu’s face suddenly turned red as soon he heard Taeyeon’s name. Changmin, Jaejoong and Yoochun couldn’t help but laugh at his reaction. Even Yuri was on the verge of laughter knowing that Junsu had been secretly eyeing one of her friends for a long time now.

He cleared his throat and tried to compose himself. “I don’t care about that girl. She’s such an ahjumma. And besides, she doesn’t even notice me.”

His last statement drew more suspicion on what he’s really up to with Taeyeon. And Yuri couldn’t help but investigate him. “You said Taengoo doesn’t notice you, then that must mean you have been watching her every move.”

Changmin tapped Junsu’s back. “Your secret is now out in the open, Junsu hyung. Thanks to Mrs. Jung.”

“Shut up, Shim Changmin. And you, Jung Yuri, don’t think that I won’t spank you just because you’re pregnant.” Junsu threatened.

Yuri smirked once again. “Kim Junsu, we’ve been friends for years. You can’t scare me with such threats.”

“That’s my wife.” Yunho said, adding to the annoyance of Junsu.

“Whatever. It’s almost time.” Junsu said and headed to the checking area without even looking back.

Jaejoong’s face was painted with glee. “He must be really annoyed.” He said with a grin.

On the other hand, sadness started to creep inside Yunho. He couldn’t pull his hands away from Yuri’s. “Yul…” he murmured.

Yuri touched his cheek. “We’ve talked about this already Yunnie. After a week, you’ll see me at this exact place, waiting for your return. I promise.”

Yunho smiled and hugged her tight. “Then, see you next week my lovely wife.”

“See you my handsome husband.”

Yuri has been bedridden for two days now. Since she got back from the airport, her state got worse. She can’t even stand properly because every time she tries, she becomes dizzy. With that, her parents insisted even if she’s totally against it that she stays with them until Yunho comes back.

“How are you feeling, dear?” Mrs. Kwon asked as she sat on her bed side.

Yuri tried to sit but she couldn’t. “I’m still feeling quite sick but I’ll be fine soon. Don’t worry about me Umma.”

Her mom tucked the strands of hair covering her face. “You shouldn’t have forced Yunho to go. Look at you.”

 “Mom, I don’t want to get in his way. It’s his work we’re talking about here.” Yuri said.

“I know, Yul. But you need someone to take care of you at this state. I mean this is all normal in pregnancy but that doesn’t mean you’d let it all pass without being cautious.”

Yuri groaned. “I understand, Mom. But can we not talk about this now. Please?”

Mrs. Kwon sighed in defeat. “Okay. I’ll stop. So, what do you want for dinner?”

Yuri smiled at the thoughtfulness of her mother. “I just want some creamy mushroom soup.”

“Okay. Just rest and I’ll call you out when dinner is ready.” Mrs. Kwon said.

But before she reached the door, Yuri hugged her from the back. “I’m sorry for the trouble, Mom. And I really really miss you.”

Mrs. Kwon couldn’t help tears from flowing. “I feel proud because you grew up to be such fine lady. When you got married, I felt happy and sad at the same. Sad that our princess is not anymore the little girl who always wants to bedtime stories. And happy because she chose the right man for her.”

Yuri also started crying. “Oh, Mom. I love you so much. And this child inside me will surely be the luckiest one for having you and Dad as grandparents.”

“But if there’s one thing I want you to do right now, it’s to start thinking about yourself too. Okay?”

Yuri nodded and hugger her mother again. “Thank you, Mom.”

“Aish!” Yunho shouted and threw his phone on the table.

“Try calling at her parent’s house.” Jaejoong suggested.

Yunho sighed. “I already did and they said she’s with Yoona. I called Yoona but her phone is off.”

“Hyung, there’s only 5 hours left before our flight. So, don’t worry too much. Okay?”

Yunho didn’t say anything anymore. It was the first time that Yuri didn’t answer his calls. Different thoughts are already coming across his mind. He could feel his heart being crippled every time he thinks about the possibility that a bad thing happened to Yuri.

After five hours, they boarded the plane. As his friends were sound asleep, Yunho was wide awake, worried sick about his wife’s condition. No one could possibly call him now because electronic devices could not be used inside the plane. He wished for the time to pass rapidly. He wanted to see his wife badly.

And as the plane landed, Yunho started fidgeting. The other four boys couldn’t help but pity him.

“He must really miss her.” Yoochun murmured.

When his luggage was released, Yunho ran to the waiting area. His eyes searched for the woman he’s been missing for a week. However, he could not find her anywhere.

He looked helplessly at his friends that they also started to get worried. They accompanied Yunho to his house but found no one there, even their maids and driver. Yunho tried calling Yoona again and finally, she answered.

“Yoong. Where’s Yuri?” he asked frantically.

He could feel the hesitation of Yoona from speaking. Did something really happen to Yuri? How could that be? He said to himself.

“Yoong, please.” He begged while trying to calm himself.

“She’s here at the hospital.” Yoona said.

Yunho’s mind went balnk. He couldn’t fathom what he just heard. He clutched his chest as if searching for room to breathe. His Yuri, what happened to his Yuri?

“Hospital. Let’s go to the hospital!” he shouted to Jaejoong who was then driving the car.

As soon as they arrived, Yunho ran to the information desk. “Jung Yuri, where can I find her?” he asked.

“Room 104, Sir.” The nurse said.

Yunho ran and ran until he found his wife’s room. When he opened the door, he saw his wife’s arm with a crest and her forehead with a bandage. Yuri smiled hesitantly but Yunho just stared blank at her, as if trying to digest the scene.

“Love…” Yuri whispered.

Yunho threw his phone on the wall. “Don’t you dare call me love, Jung Yuri. Don’t you dare!” he shouted.

Yuri’s face was evident of shock while others can’t help but be frightened. It was the first time they ever saw Yunho get mad. He gets annoyed but never gets mad. But now, his eyes were burning in anger, frustration and pain.

“Yunho, please.” Yuri said, as if trying to calm him.

“All of you go out!” Yunho shouted once again.

They were all hesitant but went out anyway. Yunho was too scary to disobey. When they went out, Yunho eyed Yuri intently. “Now, tell me what happened. And don’t you dare leave any details just to cover up the fact that you are not in a good condition."

Yuri bowed her head and started telling him the whole story. “I was bedridden for days due to morning sickness. I fell down the stairs because I collapsed. The doctor said our baby is fine and that it’ll only take a month or so before I heal.”

“You are such a stubborn woman. When you decide on something, you’re so hard to break. And now, look at where your stubbornness brought you. ” Yunho said angrily.

Yuri just stared at him while trying not to cry. The sight of her husband’s angry and pained face broke her heart. “Sorry. I’m so sorry Yunnie.”

Yunho glared at her. “Sorry? Yul, do you even understand how hard it was for me to leave you here even it’s just for a week? Every day, I can’t help but worry about your condition. Whenever I call you, you always tell me you’re fine but I know deep inside that you’re not. And then yesterday, you stopped answering my calls. I was so frustrated to the point that I just wanted to cry. And now, you’re here in the hospital looking all crippled and hurt. This is the exact reason why I don’t want to leave you.”

Yuri couldn’t hold it together anymore and started sobbing. She could feel Yunho’s frustration over what happened. She was also sure that her husband is blaming himself for the incident. “I’m really sorry Yunho but please don’t blame yourself. Please.”

Yunho covered his face with his palm. “Yul, I cannot afford to lose you. I don’t want to see you getting hurt because when you’re in pain, the pain I feel is doubled. I just love you so much to the point that I’m willing to take all the hurt in the world just to make you happy and safe.” He whispered and hugged Yuri tight.

“I’m sorry Yunnie. I’m sorry.” Yuri said in between sobs.

Yunho closed his eyes as he felt the familiar warmth of his beloved wife. “Ssssh…it’s alright now, love. I’m also sorry for getting out of control and shouting at you.”

Yuri wiped her tears and pouted. “Just promise you won’t do that again because you were really scary. If you only saw Changmin’s face, it was as though he was about to cry.”

Yunho chuckled and ruffled her hair. “I won’t go to business trips until baby Jung is born.”

Yuri frowned. “But…”

Yunho stopped her lips with a finger. “No but’s Mrs. Jung.”He said authoritatively

Yuri just nodded knowing that she wouldn’t be able to do something about it. She just gave him a long passionate kiss and said the words she had wanted to say. “I missed you, Mr. Jung.”

Yunho smiled. “I missed you too, Mrs. Jung.”
