I was starting to panic a bit. It was already dark outside past sunset already and here I was, in yunho's car and this car ride felt like ages.

 

"You really seem to be in a hurry. You have plans for the night?" He asked for the 101th time

 

I shrugged

 

"I just... " I didn't finish the sentence

 

I felt Yunho speeding up, his hands on the wheel gripped hard and I was somehow happy that he did speed up but the atmosphere was weird

 

"Is it.. that guy? With the jacket?"

 

I swallowed hard and didn't answer. Yunho was quiet for the rest of the ride and as soon as we got home, he parked outside the cabin, turned off the engine and just stayed silent waiting for me to get out

 

"Look Yunho.. I.."

 

"It's okay. But you should have told me from the start that you did have plans for the night" He said a little upset

 

I sighed

 

"I thought we were gonna make it on time" I mumbled

 

"But I wanted to spend time with you. If I had known I shouldn't have taken you out for the day" He said

 

"I'm sorry"

 

The atmosphere was tense and so cold that I didn't even dare to get out of the car.

 

"Look.. just make it up to me"

 

He turned to me, smiled happily and apparently he tried to light things up a bit. I tried to smile and he roughed my hair

 

"Go on and see your friend. Make up to me tomorrow by making me your strawberry cakes okay?"

 

I could hear the sincerity in his words and his tone was so gentle that it was not hard to believe him. I gave him a quick hug and got out of the car and as I ran towards the house, I somehow could still feel his eyes looking after me. As soon as I stepped inside I heard the car disappear

"Did... she forget about tonight hmm...?"

 

I threw the rock into the water and sat down silently, a bit bored while waiting. She was already an hour late and it felt like that I was becoming more and more pathetic as time passed. I shouldn't be waiting for an hour but yet I do so. How weird.

 

From a far away distance I could hear something, hurrying and running. I got up from the ground and spun around to see Hana running fast towards me and as soon as our eyes met, I broke out into a smile and a recieved a happy smile as well

 

She stopped in front of me, tried to catch her breath and I couldn't help but laugh

 

"JaeJoong I'm sorry for being late and now when JaeJoong has forgiven you, we should go" I said while laughing at her.

 

She managed to catch her breath and then she burst out laughing as I said that and tilted her head to the side

 

"I'm so sorry"

 

I shook my head

 

"I waited for an hour. Please make it worth it" I joked pleadingly

 

She rolled her eyes

 

"So... I wore comfortable clothes. What are we doing?"

 

"Climbing" I smiled and started to walk away from her

 

"What?!" She gasped shockingly

 

I couldn't hide the smile as I kept walking, hearing her running behind me

 

"I CAN'T CLIMB! I'M AFRAID OF HEIGHTS !" She said and stopped me

 

I looked at her and I saw her fear taking over. I took the strand of hair that was blocking her eyes and I put it behind her ear and smiled

 

"That's why I have a plan B. Boat"

 

This time she was quiet and broke out in a happy and childish smile that even I couldn't resist. I had to walk away in order to not stay and look into them

 

"A boat? Like out to the sea?" She asked excitedly

 

"Something... like that" I said while walking through the forest

 

"Your boat? You have your own boat?" She asked

 

"Yup but don't get too excited. It's just... a boat" I laughed

 

When we finally arrived after going through the forest I saw my small boat made out of wood wait for us down by the long bridge that stretched out into the water. I took her hand, a reflex that was unknown to me and we walked down to the water and out on the bridge and stopped in front of the boat. I got in first and then stretched out my hand to help her.

 

A little scared and worried she stepped inside but her smile was still there. Happily I sat down and pushed us away from the shore and started to row

 

I saw her dipping her fingers into the water like a kid would do and she just looked down into the water curiosly as if something would pop up anytime.

 

"Where were you today?" I asked

 

She straighted herself up and shrugged

 

"I had a childhood friend coming over and we went downtown and had ice cream"

 

"Oh.. how was it? Fun?" I asked

 

She nodded

 

"Catch up time" I smiled

 

I did sense some weird vibes in her words while she talked about it. Was she.. avoiding the topic?

 

"I'll stop right here okay?" I said

 

"Stop? here? Why?" She asked and raised an eyebrow

 

I then took out the blanket and put it on the floor in the boat and lied down

 

"Now we should just enjoy the waves, the fresh sea air and the dark sky looking down on us as we look up on them" I said

 

I heard her chuckle and then she lied down next to me. I tried to lean away a bit since the boat was small but even then our shoulders touched each other

 

Silence embraced us as we listened to the waves hitting the boat.

 

"Do you do this often?"

 

"When I'm bored"

 

"Don't you sleep?"

 

"I do, when I'm tired"

 

She chuckled

 

"And what do you do during the days?"

 

It felt like electricity passed through me as I heard the question. I was unsure of the answer and I was also unsure if there was an answer to this. Well of course there was an answer but.. not something that she could understand right? I sighed quietly for myself

 

"I... like reading a lot. Mostly novels. Romantic and dramatic ones. It's inspiring and exciting yet sad to read lovers being separated, hurt by another, hurt by insecurity, lies, truth and how life can be so cruel and yet so wonderful just by having happines coexisting with  the pain" I mumbled

 

"And how beautiful love can be, how it can change you. How you want to become the better for the person that you love, how you are willing to do anything for the one you love. It's amazing. Love is" She whispered dreamingly

 

I closed my eyes

 

"It's wonderful. It's like the air that we breathe"

 

"Not comparable and not visible but yet there" She whispered

 

I turned the head and looked at her and I guess she felt me staring at her as she turned her head too and for a minute we kept looking into each other's eyes but no words were spoken. Nothing said just the waves, the boat, and us two. I didn't feel uncomfortable but wasn't she uncomfortable with me looking at her like this? Isn't she suppose to break away from the gaze, to look away?

 

"I've never met anyone like you" She suddenly said

 

I looked at her for a second

 

"Maybe it's because... I'm different" I smiled, saying that as a joke

 

Seriousness took over her face and she smiled with her eyes as she spoke

 

"You are different"

 

"Then you won't hate me for it?"

 

"For being different?" She asked and raised an eyebrow

 

"Yup" I smiled

 

"Of course not"

 

"And not the things that I do randomly too?" I asked

 

"Okay Now I'm.. gee  .... AHHHHHHHHHHH!"

 

I swam up to the surface and looked around and soon she appeared as well

 

"MY GOD JAE!!" She blurted out which caused me to laugh

 

"Unexpectedly but fun right? Refreshing" I said and swam around her

 

She didn't seem mad cause after a second I heard her laughing

 

"You're crazy"

 

"Just unique"

 

"A weird one"

 

"But definitely.. a good one"
