Chap. 21~
Still With YouAfter watching as their two friends got stuck at the top, Yenny and Taecyeon gave one another a high five before making their way to the grass fields. “Do you think this will work?” Taecyeon asked as he sat Sulli on his shoulders.
“It better work, and if not I’ll make it work!” Yenny huffed with determination. Truth is, this whole day was planned out.
-~Few Days Before the Family Fair~
While at work Yenny would notice how absent minded and distracted Junsu had been. He would easily forget things, like how ice cream belongs in the freezer and not on the shelf. When she asked him what was wrong, Junsu didn't hesitate to spill his guts out. Chansung was no different; Taecyeon would visit Chansung either at home or while working and nothing he would say would process through the other's mind. Chansung eventually told his friend what had happened between Junsu. Even the little ones could feel the gloomy atmosphere that surrounded their used-to be happy home.
The plan all started one afternoon while Yenny was babysitting the little ones and Taecyeon had dropped by to simply visit.
Yenny was busy making lunch while the little ones were napping, she knew something was definitely going on because the house wasn't sparkly clean, and the kids looked miserable. She's only seen Junsu act this way one other time, and that was a few years ago after the whole Junsu and Taecyeon ordeal. "What do you think we should do? I hate seeing them like this.”
“Well, we could always sit them down here and scold them like children.” Taecyeon suggested out as he peeled some potatoes.
“Seriously?”
“You asked me, and that was my suggestion.” He stuck his tongue out at her only to be hit by the wooden spoon she was holding.
Yenny put the stove on low so the food could simmer before she joined Taecyeon at the table. “Besides, the first thing we'd have to do is actually get them into the same room before we can think about forcing them to talk to one another. We need to think of something.”
Taecyeon just nodded in agreement, “We could pretend that the little ones ran away.” Yenny punched Taecyeon’s arm really hard causing him to wince in pain.
“We’re trying to have them make up, not give them a heart attack!”
At that time Junho had woken up and was listening by the stairs, “Junnie and Channie aren’t happy…” he sat there pouting thinking about his big brothers how they’re not a happy family anymore, until he remembered something.
Running up to his room, climbing over Amber and stepping on Luna’s hair, he pulled a brochure from under his pillow. He quickly ran back down the stairs and to the table where Yenny and Taecyeon were talking, “Here!” he threw the piece of paper towards the two.
Yenny picked up the sheet and scanned over the brochure, a smile spreading across her face. “This is it! We’ll set them up.” She handed the brochure to Taecyeon and he couldn’t help but smile as well. “Good job Junho, but how will we go about doing that?”
Yenny pulled out a piece of paper and spread it out on the table. At that time they were soon joined by the other kids. "So first..." after about two hours their plan was completed. "We'll go on the last day."
"Why? Wouldn't it be better to go sooner?" Taecyeon asked.
"This will give us time to make sure that neither one of them are stuck working, plus on the last day they usually have a fireworks show at that end of the night, don't tell that doesn't speak romantic to you. It'll be just like the movies." She explained with a little twinkle in her eyes.
-Present Time-
Up above Chansung and Junsu gave one another a confused look with a slight hint of fear. “I wonder why we stopped.” Chansung could hear the slight uneasiness in Junsu’s voice.
“Are you alright?” Chansung asked fully concern for the other. Junsu just slightly nodded, “Yea, I’m alright, it's not everyday you get stuck in a Ferris Wheel.”
"Yea, wonder what's going on, do you see anybody?"
Junsu looked over the cart and spotted Yenny, Taec and the little ones sitting in the field. “Yea, look! There’s Yenny and the others!” Junsu pointed towards the field. Carefully Chansung scooted himself a bit closer to the other to look over his shoulder. "Do you think they could hear us if we called out to them?"
"Maybe." The two waved their arms and began yelling trying to get those on the grounds attention. "Taec, Yenny!" Junsu made another attempt to call out to their friends below, but he was cut off in a matter of seconds by the sudden burst of light and loud explosion that echoed through the night.
The two watched as the bright lights painted the sky, before they realized that they were sitting pretty close to one another. Both made a failed attempt to give the other some space, forgetting that they were stuck in a small Ferris wheel cart.
Again in silence they both turn their attention back to the fireworks.
“Chansung…-Junsu….” They both spoke up at the same time.
“Y-you go first.” Junsu offered the other.
“No, go ahead.” Chansung insisted.
“Well, the other night... I... ” but before Junsu could say more, the finale of the show had fireworks explosions left and right making it hard to speak, and the Ferris wheel started moving again, in a matter of minutes they were back on the ground.
Yenny, Taecyeon and the little ones waited for them to get off the ride with huge grins, but once the two had stepped off the ride, the happy smiles disappeared. Both Junsu and Chansung had kept their distance and now they all stood in an unwelcoming silence.
“They’re closing up, we should head home.” Junsu suggested after what seemed like forever of just standing. Yenny and Taecyeon made sure to walk ahead with the little ones leaving Chansung and Junsu behind.
-
“What now? I was so sure that this would work.” Yenny whispered to Taecyeon.
“I don’t know. It’s not like we can just ditch them, we’re all heading back to their house.” He whispered back as he tried to think of a way to leave Junsu and Chansung alone.
Suddenly little Sulli ran to her big brother and hugged his legs. “Juuuuunnnnie! Look!” she pointed to the ad that was selling banana milk. “Junnie can we have some? Please?” she pleaded with big puppy eyes. “Sure, why not, but it looks like a storm is rolling in.”
“You go, Taec and I will go ahead and take the rest of the little ones back to your place.” Yenny suggested to Junsu as she walked back to him carrying a sleeping Wooyoung. Taecyeon followed with a passed out Luna on his back. “You go too, Chansung, just in case Junsu needs some
