Rainbow - To Me

Kyuhyun kept staring at his phone…specifically, he was looking at _______’s contact detailsy. He kept trying to call her, but he ends up pressing the end call button before it even rings. He kept trying to write draft apology messages, but he just kept erasing them as well. He didn’t know why it was bothering him too much. Was it because of guilt? Was it because of what his hyungs told him? Was it because of how _______ reacted? Another big question is, why couldn’t he just say sorry? Was it because of his pride and stubbornness? Or maybe he wants to say sorry to her in person.

Kyuhyun was so fickle-minded. His frustration kept him on edge and it made him keep spacing out. Well in the end, he still hasn’t done anything. Nothing good happened since it was already a week since that incident happened and it’s still another week before he would have to meet up with her for We Got Married, or would he?

“Kyuhyun you’re having a shoot for We Got Married the day after tomorrow.” The manager barged into the maknae’s room to inform him.

“Eh?! Isn’t that still for next week??”

“Yeah, well we had to move it earlier since you are leaving for Paris.”

“But we’re not yet in good terms.” Kyuhyun mumbled.

“What did you say?”

“Oh nothing nothing.”

Kyuhyun went to the apartment they shoot in earlier than usual. He was hoping that he would be able to talk to _______ before shooting starts.

He found _______ talking to some of the younger writers while the other staff members still set up their equipment.

Kyuhyun’s feet didn’t know if it was going to move forward to walk towards _______ or just turn around and be in his own world first.

‘I’m not thinking about my pride. I’m simply thinking about her since she’s having a nice talk with the other girls. I don’t want to disturb her or anything.’ Kyuhyun mentally talked to himself, unsure of how to approach ________.

“Oh Kyuhyun-shi.” One of the writers that _______ was talking to noticed Kyuhyun standing not too far from them.

Kyuhyun coolly smiled and didn’t show that he was still unprepared to talk to his ‘wife’.

“We’ll leave you two first” The maknae of the writers said and walked towards the other crew members to check if everything was set.

“I can see you’re using the bag I gave you. You like it that much huh? I’m going to Paris soon, I’m sure you’d want something from there too, right?” Kyuhyun told _______ when he saw what she was holding.

_______ just stared blankly at Kyuhyun. She didn’t know how to respond since Kyuhyun’s words sounded a bit…arrogant.

Kyuhyun panicked and didn’t intend to say something like that to _______. She shook her head lightly and looked away from him. Kyuhyun cursed himself, he knew he just made a fool out of himself again and made things worse.

“Kyuhyun-shi, _______-shi we’re going to start filming now.” The PD called out to the two.

“Let’s not to be awkward on camera.” _______ told Kyuhyun in a low voice so only he could hear it.

Kyuhyun released out a sigh and followed _______ as she went to sit on the couch.

_______ rested and stretched her legs fully on the couch. Kyuhyun who sat on the opposite end also decided to extend his legs on the furniture. His and _______’s sock covered feet met halfway and since Kyuhyun’s legs are longer he obviously needed more space. The two then started to play like children. They both were pushing each other’s feet so that the other one could fully rest his or her feet comfortably. _______’s legs were bending, retreating to her side as Kyuhyun continued to use force to push her feet away.

“Fine fine since I’m a gentleman, I’m going to let you win this time.”  Kyuhyun said and abruptly took his feet off the sofa, he just turned his body and crossed his legs.

_______ couldn’t help but scoff at Kyuhyun’s statement. She crossed her arms over her chest and just stared at her ‘hubby’. Kyuhyun tried to play her game as well but her somehow intimidating gaze made him awkward and uncomfortable. She was smiling innocently at him yet her eyes were showing something else.

“I’ll go get our mission card.” Kyuhyun found the right excuse to escape _______’s look.

Kyuhyun’s eyes widened when he took a peak of what was inside the pink envelope.

He then walked back to where ________ was and handed the mission card to her.

“Oh wow. This is going to be challenging.” _________ expressed before eying her target once again.

Their mission for today was: ‘Teach Kyuhyun how to cook.’

“So oppa…remind me again. Have you tried cooking anything at all before?” ________ asked Kyuhyun, her tone was like she was talking to a kid.

Kyuhyun nodded in response, remembering some of his attempts in cooking.

“And how did they taste?”

“I’d rather not say…” Kyuhyun answered as he looked down.

_______ laughed lightly at how pitiful Kyuhyun looked.

“Okay well then. Let’s go to the kitchen and see if I can work some kind of miracle or magic on you.” _______ then energetically got up from the couch and hopped towards the kitchen.

She looked at the items that were in the pantry and in the fridge, checking what she can use to cook with Kyuhyun.

“How about teaching me how to make ramen? We can make it classy, turn it into a gourmet meal. That can work, right?” Kyuhyun suggested as he saw a bunch of ramen packs that were in their kitchen.

“Nope. I want you to cook something nice for my ‘brothers-in-law’. You all need to eat something more nutritious.” _______ told Kyuhyun without even taking her head out of the fridge.

She then started taking out eggs, spring onions, carrots, kimchi, etc.

“We don’t have a lot of ingredients at our home now so we’ll make use of what we just have.” ________ said as she got the rest of the kitchen stuff that they would need.

“You do know how to cook rice, right?” _______ hesitantly asked Kyuhyun.

“Yah what do you take me for? Every man needs to at least know how to cook fried egg, rice and ramen.” Kyuhyun answered back and went to where the rice cooker is placed.

“Okay so I’m going to be teaching you easy recipes. Hopefully this would be easy and not be painful for both of us.”  ________ then informed Kyuhyun that they would be making Rolled Egg Omelette and kimchi fried rice.

________ asked Kyuhyun to open a can of tuna and drain the water. Next she taught him how to properly chop the spring onions and carrots. _______ broke and whisked the eggs in a bowl as she stood beside Kyuhyun.  She was telling him about different types of seasonings and sauces while she supervised him in cutting the ingredients.

“The smell won’t leave my hands.” Kyuhyun complained after _______ forced him to cut the kimchi to bite size pieces.

“Oh please, I’m sure your fans would just fantasize more about that.” ________ jokingly replied.

They checked the rice it was already cooked, now all they needed to do was start cooking.

_______ was about to place oil on the frying pan when the PD stopped her suddenly.

“We have to change tapes.” He announced and thus giving the two a break.

_______ quietly walked to where she placed her bag and checked her phone for missed calls or messages.

“Hey…” Kyuhyun softly called out to _______ as he stood behind her. She turned around to see what he wanted.

“I’m sorry.” Kyuhyun finally apologized, one thing that he’s been meaning to do all day.

“For what?” _______ asked, she wanted to know if Kyuhyun really knew why she got upset.

“I’m sorry for what I said at Shindong hyung’s radio show, I realized late that I should’ve given it more thought. I’m sorry if I sounded rude earlier as well. Trying to keep cool doesn’t really get me anywhere. It makes me look more of a bad guy.” Kyuhyun placed his hand at his nape and slightly scratched his skin.

“It’s okay. I’m over it now. Besides, you were just being real and honest.” _______ answered back and showed a faint smile.

“Well yeah I answered with my celebrity crushes but I think it really is best that I was partnered with you. Don’t think that I want to change you or anything because that really isn’t the case at all. Sorry if I made you feel that way. I’m really happy that I have you…as my on-screen partner.” Kyuhyun continued to explain himself.

“Apology accepted. I know you’re not really a bad or mean guy Kyuhyun…oppa.” _______ assured him that she’s accepted, or rather she likes the side that he’s been showing her so far.

“Why did you push through with filming with me though?” Kyuhyun curiously asked. He wondered why _______ didn’t make up any excuse to miss shooting last week if she was so annoyed with him.

“Even though I was frustrated, I still tried my best to be professional. Besides, with your busy schedules overseas it would be a waste to do that for just my petty feelings.”

“Hey, don’t say that. Next time if I do anything inconsiderate again or if I unconsciously offend you, I prefer that you tell me right away. I’m still on a learning curve here.”

After that talk, the pair continued on filming with a much happier atmosphere. _______ instructed Kyuhyun on how to cook the dishes, and with her guidance, he was actually able to not burn anything…well not too much. ________ had to rush Kyuhyun when he was trying to roll the omelet on the pan since he was taking too long and the bottom part was getting too fried.

“Good job oppa. It’s actually edible.” ________ ‘complimented’ Kyuhyun’s food after tasting it.

“I think the hyung’s would really eat these.” Kyuhyun can already imagine the guys not believing him when he shows them that he can cook already.

“See _______, I learn a lot from you. Now I’m a man who can get busy in the kitchen.” Kyuhyun was proud of his accomplishment for the day.

After their cooking adventure, the staff surprised them with another mission.

‘Since Kyuhyun is going out of the country soon, you two will go to Super Junior’s dorm and as his wife, _______ should help Kyuhyun pack.’

The two read aloud the second mission that they had for the day.

After driving for half an hour, Kyuhyun and ______ finally arrived at Super Junior’s dorm. They were being followed by three cameramen and other We Got Married crew.

“Is anyone home?” _______ asked Kyuhyun as she watched him punch in the code to unlock the door.

“If I’m not mistaken, everyone is out for schedules.” Kyuhyun tried to recall. He was able to confirm his guess when he saw that there were no lights opened as soon as he opened the door.

The two immediately entered the dorm and walked straight towards Kyuhyun’s room.

_______ remembered the first time she went inside Kyuhyun’s room. She was somehow familiar with where his belongings were located. She then spotted a big luggage bag near his side of the bed.

“This is yours, right?” _______ asked, making sure that she’s opening the right bag.

Kyuhyun nodded in response and opened his closet to show ________ his clothes and other accessories.

They picked out the clothes he would be bringing, taking into consideration the weather that he would be experiencing in the foreign land.

While ______ started to fold Kyuhyun’s clothes, Kyuhyun excused himself, telling _______ that he forgot something in his car.

One of the cameramen followed Kyuhyun and it turns out that he lied to his wife, but for a good reason.

He rushed to the nearest flower shop that he knew, which is 10 minutes away.

_______ carefully packed Kyuhyun’s shades, jacket, shirts, socks, etc. She busied herself with properly arranging her ‘husband’s’ stuff that she didn’t notice that it’s been a while since he went out the door.

“I’m sure he’ll carefully pack his laptop or the other gadgets he’ll be bringing.” _______ talked to herself as she zipped the bag close.

“Huh? Kyuhyun’s not yet back?” _______ looked at the staff and they all just shrugged their shoulders, they also didn’t know what Kyuhyun was up to.

_______ went out of Kyuhyun’s room and looked around the dorm. He wasn’t in the kitchen nor in the living room. She knocked on the bathroom but he wasn’t there as well.

_______ got her phone from her bag so she could call Kyuhyun and ask where he is.

Kyuhyun just let his phone ring as he went out of the elevator.

“He’s not answering.” He heard _______ say as soon as he walked back inside the dorm.

________ then heard a loud ringing sound coming from behind her and so she turned around.

“Ya. Where did you run off to??” _______ asked curiously.

Kyuhyun just smiled sheepishly and brought out the bouquet of flowers that he was hiding behind him.

He stepped closer to her and handed the flowers over to her. Kyuhyun told himself before that he won't give flowers to anyone else ever again after that time that he got rejected. But this time, he knew _______ would be different...worth it.

_______’s eyes widened from surprise, she was moved with Kyuhyun’s actions and because of that she felt her heartbeat accelerate.

The female writers couldn’t help but say “awww…” from the side, it was as if they were the pair’s studio audience.

“What’s this for?” ______ asked calmly but the blush on her face showed her real emotions.

“To thank you…and to complete my apology as well.” Kyuhyun’s sincerity came across and everyone in the room felt it.

Instead of letting their minds control them, their hearts definitely did the talking tonight.
