Never Changing
Before The DawnMyungsoo, Woohyun, Sungyeol and Howon were sitting on the grass at the park near their school.
“So tomorrow is you flight?” Howon asked Myungsoo.
“Yeah, two more days till I see Sungjong,” Myungsoo said, but seeing the look on the others’ face he added, “And one more day to be with you guys.”
“I wonder if you’re actually happy to be leaving us,” Sungyeol said suspiciously.
Myungsoo shook his head.
“The only reason I can leave is because I know Sungjong will be there to soothe the pain. If there was no Sungjong, Sunggyu hyung would have to kill me and send my dead body away. I can’t live without you guys.”
When Sungyeol still looked unimpressed, he added, “Truly great friends are hard to find, difficult to leave, and impossible to forget.”
“I don’t how I’m going to live. I’m so jealous that you two are staying together,” Sungyeol said.
“It’s only fair that you spend some time with your mom,” Woohyun said.
“And don’t say it like we will have it easy. I’m so glad that Woohyun is here with me but it wouldn’t be the same without you guys. We were a team.” Howon sighed.
“We are a team, you mean?” Myungsoo said. “We will always be one.”
“That’s the way to talk,” Woohyun said. “Cheer up guys, we have one more day to celebrate.”
“Three, you mean, I won’t be leaving until Thursday,” Sungyeol said.
“Too bad, you won’t be that much of a loss,” Woohyun said.
Sungyeol grinned mischievously. “Jealous Woohyun, that I get to hang out with supermodels? I would bring you back one but I heard they are at least twice your height.”
“You’re going to hang out with them? Provided they get used to your ugly face and lame jokes right?”
“My jokes are perfectly funny. You don’t have a sense of humor.”
“My sense of humor is legendary. It’s you who was born wrong.”
“You—”
“I’m going to make out with Sungjong day after tomorrow!” Myungsoo shouted over Sungyeol.
“Where did that come from?” Howon asked, surprised.
“Sorry, I just didn’t want you to fight on the last day.”
“Why do I feel like that was not so random?” Woohyun asked, chuckling.
“Ooh, Myungsoo’s being naughty naughty, thinking about bad stuffs.” Sungyeol sniggered.
“Myungsoo please, at least spare me; I’m the brother,” Howon pleaded.
“Don’t worry Howon, even though I love Sungjong, I’ll keep the fact that he’s your brother at the back of my mind.”
“You guys will visit though, right?”
“Maybe.” Myungsoo shrugged.
“Hey, let’s promise we will meet back here after 5 years,” Woohyun said, struck by a sudden idea.
“That sounds good,” Myungsoo said, extending his hand. “Let’s make a promise guys.”
“To us, and our never changing friendship,” Howon said, resting his palm on the back of Myungsoo’s.
Woohyun copied him. “And keep in touch.”
“Let’s not forget to party.” Sungyeol followed.
“You had to end it in such a lame note,” Woohyun said.
“Shut up!”
“And Myungsoo, please take care of my brother.”
“Sure.”
“And Sungyeol,” Woohyun started, looking uncomfortable.
“Yes?”
“Don’t bring back a French supermodel girlfriend.”
There was a long pause.
You think Woohyun?
“Not a chance.”
