Crazy Fates

She wasn't nervous, curious was more like it. She followed slowly to Sunggyu as they climbed their way down a whirl of steps before reaching the dance floor. The place was empty except for the fact that six other figures stood in the corner of the room by a VIP booth.

"Hyung." A voice called out. A young boy, by the looks of it, he looked younger than Chorong, he was also quite pretty for a guy. A bright smile was lit on his face as he approach the two. Five other pair of eyes turned around to face the two. Chorong could see Woohyun sending daggers at her, he didn't look happy. She didn't care. She could care less about him.

"Ah, this must be noona. She's pretty. Hi noona, I'm Sungjong. Hi to you too, Sunggyu hyung." He smiled at her. Chorong found him adorable, he reminded her of someone she knew a long, long time ago.

Out of no where his arms reached out and wrapped themselves around her in a big teddy bear embrace. Chorong's body briskly froze in place, unable to more. The boy was really straight forward with his actions. She was yet to realize whether this was a good thing or not.

"Welcome to the family." He whispered to her.

"Don't worry about Woohyun hyung, he's nicer than he acts. A real grease ball once you crack him down." Sungjong continued right before he was torn away. One by one, each and every one of them introduced themselves to her. All seemingly shock by her appearance. She just bowed kindly to each and every one of them.

Woohyun's friends aren't as she expected, each and everyone had their own character. She could tell this just after meeting them. Sunggyu and Sungjong were the umma and appa of the group. They were usually the middle man of the group whenever conflict pops up. Kind, logical, understanding, and usually patient, she understood why. Chorong also could tell that the two were the invisible tabs of glue that pulled the group together, rather they realized it yet or not. She made a note to stay close to the two.

Dongwoo and Sungyeol were jokers, kid-like, and carefree. Their spirits that were untamed, but in a good way. They had the kind of freedom that gave them the power to be anyone, do anything, everything, and still remain grounded.

Howon and Myungsoo, or Hoya and L, as they prefer to be call were quieter than the rest. Chorong knew that they were quite full of life, once you broke through the hard shells they use to guard themselves. The two were the type of friends that would really be there for you, till the end. The kind of people that would change your life, without you even realizing it.

Chorong made every mental note and tabbed it in her mind like post-it stamps. Chorong could read people like she was reading a open book.

People to her hid behind nothing but a transparent cloak of emotions, hopes, regret, secrets, dream. Once you decipher one part of the puzzle the rest fill into place like gravity. Chorong could decipher people, most people. Her grandmother told her a long time ago this gift would tell her who will harm her, banish her and isolate her from the world, and who would be the ones that will truly change her, those who would guide her to be something better.

She somehow found herself seated next to Sungjong up in the booth. Woohyun sat the at the other end of the table, far from her. She was glad about this although she could still feel him glaring at her like he'll pounce up and attack at any moment possible.

"You're actually really pretty. Woohyun sort of...." Dongwoo began was quietly trailed off as he received a punch in the arm by Woohyun. Dongwoo groaned rubbing his now bruise arm.

"How's it feel being married to this idiot?" Hoya asked nodding over to a disturbed Woohyun. Chorong avoided looking at Woohyun and answered honestly.

"Its like living in hell." She replied bluntly and flat. Both she and Woohyun knew she wasn't going to lie, it wasn't in her character. She wasn't going to act like the two were all lovey dovey and everything is all peachy.

"That kind of marriage suits you." Woohyun muttered under his breath.

It was loud enough for not only Chorong but everyone else to hear. Eyes popping up and staring between the two. Chorong glared at him, ready to shred him to pieces. The two were an act to be taken seriously. They would be the end of each other.

"Suits me?" Chorong shot at him. He had a way of pushing all her over the edge. Woohyun was a mystery to her. Unlike all the others who she could so easily understand, Woohyun remained a mystery. She didn't understand why, maybe her judgment was just clouded by a force stronger than the two. She assumed it was anger, hate, something in the line of that.

"A gold digging ." Woohyun corrected with prejudiced all over his tone. Chorong's eyes were now shooting beams of fire at the guy. Her chance for a nice impression in front of his friends were now over. The bastard was pushing her to the limits. Who knew words could help so much? The rest remained quiet taking in the tension between the two. The couple made for quite an interesting show. Woohyun didn't act like this much. Usually he was just a carefree grease ball that traveled from girl to girl without any care just like any other typical arrogant playboy.

"Well I've been call worse." Chorong declared as she pulled her hands into tight fists.

"Really? Like what?" Woohyun asked raising an eyebrow at the girl who remained unharmed by his stare.

"Like being called your wife." Chorong countered. Woohyuns eyes narrowed while Dongwoo tried to hold back muffled laughs. The girl was something.

"I like you." L blurted out in pure randomness converting the attention to him. Honestly he was just trying to lighten the mood, but that didn't mean he wasn't being honest.

"I like you Chorong. You're, something really special, I don't know what it is yet, but I can tell you I like it. My blessing to both of you and your...non typical marriage. You two need as many blessings as possible." L stated.

"Well congrats Chorong, you won over L. Trust me, he doesn't like many people." Sunggyu continued. Chorong could feel herself relaxing just knowing this fact.

"Now come one." She felt Sunggyu grabbing her hand pulling her away. Did he always grab onto people and pull them along?

"Where are we going?" She manage to ask as she noticed everyone else following along. Her husband was taking his own damn time cursing under his breath.

"You dressed up so nice today. Let's just go hang out wherever." Sungjong answered for her. She sighed as she was dragged back up the parking lot. These guys were quite different from what she imagined. In her mind they were all Woohyun spin-offs, rich brats living off their family's power. The guys standing in front of her. Were anything, but that. They were warm, kind, caring.

The kind of people she was praying to find all her life. The ones who dared to care, the ones who stayed long enough to understand her, themselves, life and everything in between. They proved her judgment wrong as she hoped she prove theirs wrong as well.

"You hungry, did you want to go eat. Sungyeol's family owes a nice restaurant near here." Dongwoo revealed.

"I'm not really hungry." Chorong replied and right on cue as if expected her stomach grumbled.

"I think you're stomach's hungry." Dongwoo countered with a knowing smirk. Chorong frowned. She had totally forgotten that she haven't eaten all day. Something to do with a certain someone canceling her class and dragging her out of the house, she had no time to eat.

"Sungyeol's family restaurant it is." Dongwoo declared as he began making his way towards his car. He only stop when he heard Chorong growled as she was pulled in an opposite direction. Chorong tried not to stumble on her heels as Woohyun dragged her away. She didn't bother to argue with him. Its not like it would matter.

He wanted her away from them, his friends, she understood this much. Why, she wondered, was it because he was scare she would pollute their mind with her words, please, he acted like she was an siren out for the hearts of dwelling sailors. Luring them in before ending them. The shouts from his friends were clear and loud, but he choose to ignore them.

He couldn't handle it any longer. A string inside him snapped in two. It was a wave of emotion forgeign to him, but he was determined to figure it out. All he knew was that he needed to get away, and he needed Chorong with him.

Basically throwing Chorong into the passager side of his car he rushed to the drivers side before zooming off in his car leaving only a trail of smoke behind. Chorong couldn't believe him. What had gotten into him, again? This behavior was so strange for him, so out of character, they both knew this, yet both refused to admit it. Pure jealously.

"I swear you are bipolar." She commented with full intent to arouse him. He glared at his wife who had a visible smile smacked onto her beautiful face.

"Shut up will you." He responded as he pressed the gas. His cars maneveuring through the busy Seoul streets.

Chorong didn't bother retorting back. A wave of exhaustion hit her body fast and hard as she found her body slowly relaxing against the seat. Her head placed against the soft fabric as her eyes stared out into the city's skylines the two were driving towards.

She couldn't help but think, their lives were a twist of fate or a spontaneous cross of pathways. The two were star crossed lovers, they were never meant for each other. They were both from two different worlds, both with different past, families, and lives.

Woohyun was raised like a prince, prepared for the life of an powerful CEO. Paupered and groomed step by step. His family was a show for the world, a show of class, money, and power. Yet Woohyun hated it, Chorong knew this, through she never spoke of it. The only ones he liked were his grandmother, before she had arranged for this crazy marriage of theirs, and his noona. Chorong was told she was in London, but Woohyun claimed she was shipped off so their parents could be rid of her.

Chorong heard the pain in his voice when he told his grandmother how much he missed his noona, through she wasn't supposed to be listening, she couldn't help it. This was about the one and only time she felt anything but hate towards him. She felt a pinch of pity. That was quickly covered up later.

Chorong on the other hand, her family was...poisonous. Of each other. In her whole life she could never remember taking one happy family photo. Not one meal together, never one time when they were all in one room, content and happy. They were poisonous of each other. Thus leaving to grow up by herself, with the help of a really special loved one.

She grew up in a small rooftop house, one bedroom. It was home through. She had a roof over her head, food on the table, and strength in her body. She grew up well, she grew up lonely, she grew up hard she grew up strong. Funny she thought, how they grew up two separate lives, yet she could find this common trait in both their lives. They both hated their parents. Living in the rooftop room was the best part of her life. Before that, it was like she was nothing but dirt, like she didn't matter. Useless.

"What are you thinking of?" Finally breaking the silence Woohyun could only stared as the two came to the stop of a red light. She had a blank face, he observed her every move, every look. It was strange how pleased she looked while in a daze, yet her eyes were so sad. They were always sad, even when shooting pissed off glares at him, they were always sad orbs of dead energy. Her eyes were dead, they had no soul. It was like her soul was worked to death. It no longer exist.

"Just thinking about how funny our lives are." She responded her eyes not meeting his but staring out towards the skies. A look into heaven, a look into that eternal paradise she so desired to lay in.

"Funny, that sounds like our lives." He responded with a chuckle. Chorong braced herself for that moment of realization. For once they weren't fighting. The first time in their marriage when they weren't yelling at each other.

"I don't want you around my friends. Stay the hell away from them." He ordered. Chorong sighed, oh well, the moment was too good to keep anyways.

"Did you hear me!" His low tone flooded her ears.
She was tired, it was barely noon and she was tired. Woohyun sighed at her lack of response. His brows furrowed. He didn’t want to partake in this journey to search for what the hell was going through that head of hers again. He was fled up with it, yet he couldn't help but be curious. Lurking at every corner of his mind was that sense of curiosity about Chorong. She was an mystery to him, as he was to her.

Chorong glance over to him just missing the stare he had placed on her as his eyes fell back onto the streets. Chorong's brain was ticking. She was trying to elucidate something far more complex than hieroglyphics. She was trying to figure out Nam Woohyun. A man who in so many ways was exactly like her, but anything but.
