Crazy Fates

It felt like her heart was ripped out and crushed. It was all so much. Reality was all so much. Questions that lingered throughout her mind ate her up.

Bomi finally found the strength to stand back onto her feet. Her skull was on fire and all she wanted to do was quit. She wanted to give up. She wanted to close her eyes and never again open them again.

She hated it all so much right now. Life. She hated how life turned out. How it twisted its ways, how it twisted her life as if it had no purpose, no value. It was all a game for show.

Maybe this was another thing she now saw in common with Chorong. The world was not as if what it was thought out to be.

God did not make the earth, and if he truly did, it was one that was evil. Savages are human beings, they raise their children wrong, corrupt them and torture them. In every field seen from heaven and beyond people pry, and dabble, and scrutinized with useless experiments. It could no longer be as someone says it is, but has to be proven with witnesses, facts, and more experiments.

Yoon Bomi believed that the world was evil. Park Chorong agreed. They were victims of the serial killer known as life.

"Bomi-ah." Chorong called out to her friend who was in a trance state of mind. All will power completely lost and thrown aside like .

"I was so in love with him, unnie. Too in love with him. I think I was in love with him to the point where I became hysterical. Another one of those love obsessed lunatics that gave no damn about the world, as long as he was around.

If I only knew then, what I knew now. I could had never jumped in, never bow down. He made everything feel okay, even when it wasn't." Bomi revealed. Her eyes fell on her apartment that looked like it was trample over by a load of speeding race cars.

"He came back Bomi. He did. I know it hurts, but....the man cares. He cares so damn much, it hurts." Chorong tried prying into Bomi's heart of mysteries.

"But he left. He still left. How can I turn around, and pretend like nothing happened. Like my sister didn't die for nothing. It's not reasonable. It can't be reasonable." Bomi countered back. Chorong exhaled deeply, her lungs then took back in dusty air.

"Then don't make it reasonable. But you can at least talk to him. Let him tell you his side of the story. The man deserves at least that....Trust me, Bomi, all those years ago when Naeun and I ran, all we could think about was all we were leaving behind."

"What did you leave behind then?" Bomi asked.

"Our history. Our past. It was filled with the most horrible memories, but they were still memories. So, don't let him get away." Chorong insisted.
--
It was one of her many other stops for the day. She couldn't help but think of how things turned out. Chorong was the one whose life was a uttered and complete mess, yet here she was, trying to tie the pieces of Bomi's world back together. What a distorted mess-up image this was.

The door was always unlock. She assumed he was here. If he wasn't, she wouldn't know where else to look.

She turned the corner. The room was lit dim, the place was empty. The only figure in there other than her was the one man she was trying to find at this moment.

He was seated by the corner booth. Drink in hand and other bottles of liquor spread through the table. Paper work lined the tables and his laptop was in the corner. He looked as if he was working, but also looked like he didn't give a damn.

Who drinks while working, right? She asked herself. He was oblivious to her presence, until she made herself known.

"L-shi." She called out to him. His eyes glanced up. Widening in shock, or maybe it was something else, something like guilt. What was he to feel guilty about? He had done no harm to her.

"Chorong-shi. W-what are you doing here" He asked, clearly startled by her sudden appearance.

Then it all made too much sense to her. Something in him felt guilty. Why? She made no idea. All he ever did was try to help her. She knew that he half expected her to be upset, but she wasn't.

How could she be upset. She couldn't be upset with him. He was trying to help Naeun. He gave her sister faith, even if it was in the simplest forms like trying to teach her guitar. Hope comes in all shapes and sizes, big and small packages.

"Thank you." She whispered. It was a soft murmur but it somehow found the wind to bear itself to his ears. He stared at her in confusion for a moment. Either said a word, but sometimes silence was all one needed.

"Bomi told me you and Naeun were fighters. Fighters slowly drowning in quicksand." He began. She was astonished, he was dead on. When did she become so easy transparent?

"I also know that you two are running. So what is it you're running from?" He asked. She gazed at him, amused and taken-back.

"Check the last message." He told her before throwing something over. She caught it gracefully. It was her cell phone. The same cell phone Woohyun had taken from her when he found out she gave her number to Sungjong.

The first three voicemails were from Bomi. The last one however was one that stopped her dead in her tracks. It was her past catching up to bite her. It was her history, her forgotten history. The one she locked deep inside her heart. The one guarded by titanium. It was her story, her reality, her fears, her poison.

This time however, she was not scare. She had grown to much to still be scare. She was a fighter, and she was one hell of a fighter. If only she could function her legs to stop running.

'Chorong-unnie.....it's me. I know its been a while...I just called to tell you....he's back. He's going back to Korea. So be careful. God, be careful.'

The voiced belonged to a girl, a girl of Chorong's past. Her voice trembled with fear, her mask was as transparent as glass. It was so raw, so fragile, Chorong was almost sure that the girl wouldn't make it.

"You wanna know what we're running from?" Chorong asked with an raised brow.

"Yes." L replied shamelessly. He was to blunt for even him to realize. Cold and distant, yes, but he carried the heart of a warrior.

Chorong felt like she could believe L. He was the trust worthy kind. He was the kind of person you knew would be there to protect you, the one who stuck to you even when whirlwinds and hurricanes were being thrown at you. The ones who were blinded by love and care to run.

"Okay then..." She began opening her lips. The gates of hell opened. She was raising hell up. She was being a fool, she was being lazy, but she was so damaged out she didn't care anymore. She was tired of fighting hell.

--

Woohyun wasn't one to worry about people. He wasn't one to pry into their lives. He ignored them most of the times. Chorong however contradicted everything that ever made logical sense to him.

He was home early. Again. There was a time when he didn't step foot back into the house until the moon was lit brightly across the starry skies. Now he couldn't wait to be home.

She wasn't home. She assumed she was visiting her sister. Funny, he didn't even know she had a sister. Hell, he didn't know a thing about her. But he never really did listen, so he never learned. Chorong was such a mystery to him. One who was the only thing he could think of. She haunted him all the time. He saw her face everywhere, all the time.

The door slowly opened. Slowly a weary figure walked in. Chorong's eyes broaden to see Woohyun sitting on the couch. Eyes situated on her and her every movement.

"You're home." She mumbled. He inwardly frowned. She sounded thwarted. Her eyes turned away from him, and he so desperately wished he could see something, anything other than misery in her beautiful eyes. They were to gorgeous to be wasted.

“I’m making dinner. You want anything specific?” He asked. The hope in his voice was so noticeable to anyone with eyes. Everyone but Chorong.

“No.”

That was her reply before she walked away, descending to their bedroom. She didn’t care. She didn’t even try to sound like she care. Cold. Ice cold. Like always.

He didn’t blame her. Not at all. After how he treated her, he would had been the same.

But he couldn't help but heart his heart crush under a tone of weight. He couldn't help but dropped the slight look of hope in his eyes. He was falling victim to her, and she didn't even realize it. She was stuck on his mind all the time, she didn't even know. She was embedded into his mind, his heart, his soul. He was pathetic. For her.  And she didn't know, didn't care.

His eyes followed her figure and watched as she vanished through the corner of the hallway.

He was determined to gain her trust. He was determined to protect. He was determined to break those walls of ice that guarded her heart so fiercely.  But gaining his wife’s trust was harder than any man could take. He knew this. He didn’t care.
