It was now July in Korea and the promotions for Mama were over but the boys still had many appearances. They were in the new drama To the Beautiful You and they were recording their new album. So that meant that Aileen’s work was never done and because it was July she felt extremely homesick and the other Cordi Noona noticed.

“Aileen, are you ok? You seem really down lately?” Hani asked her

“I’m homesick,” Baekhyun was about to come in the room when he heard that. Instead he stood outside the room to listen to their conversation.

“Haven’t you been keeping in touch with your Dad?”

“I have tried but by the time I get home, it’s super late and I’m always so tired. I try to keep in touch with him but there’s also the time change. I just miss him because we always do Christmas in July marathons,” Hani gave her a look

“Christmas is in December not July,” she chuckled

“It’s a tradition we Americans like to celebrate. My Dad and I love Christmas; I mean we really love Christmas. It’s intense,” Hani smiled, “On TV they even show Christmas movies though me and my Dad don’t watch those hooky Hallmark ones; we have our own collection,”

“What’s your favorite movie?”

“It’s an old 1944 MGM classic called Meet Me in St. Louis,” Hani’s face light up

“I actually know that movie. It was my mother’s favorite,” they both smiled

“It’s our favorite too. I only watch it for that one scene. You know the one,”

“When Judy Garland sings “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas”. I love that part. It’s the best part of the movie,” she looked sadly at Aileen, “I’m sorry that you feel homesick. Hey how about I rent the movie and we watch it together,” she tried to cheer her up

“I’d like that,”

Baekhyun felt bad for his sweet dongsaeng. She was always doing cute little things for them he wanted to do something big for her. He knows what it’s like to be homesick from your family too; it . Suddenly an awesome idea popped in his head but he needed help from one particular hyung. He whipped out his phone called one of his favorite hyungs.

“Donghae Hyung, I need your help,”

“Sure, anything,”

Hours later Aileen was finally getting off of work at a semi early time. She decided she would finally call her Dad. Baekhyun came running in the SM building.

“Aileen I need you?” he was urgent and pulled her outside to his car

“What’s wrong Oppa?” she thought of how much she wanted to get home to call her Dad but her Oppa needed her and it was hard for her to say no to him

“I have to show you or you’ll never believe me,” he drove off to the MBC building where they sometimes do tapings for shows

Once they arrived Baekhyun rushed her to one of the studios that decorated like she stepped into a Winter Wonderland. She was confused and looked at Baekhyun.

“Oppa what’s going on?”

“Just wait,” he said smiling as her Dad appeared on the big screen in front of her

Baekhyun had never seen Aileen’s face light up with so many emotions at once. He started tearing up himself.

“Daddy!” she started crying

“Hey baby. I’ve missed you,” he said in his strong Southern accent

“I’ve missed you more especially now. It’s Christmas in July and I’m not home,” she was still crying

“I know but you’ve been such a brave girl and I’m so proud of you; following your dream; not letting anything stop you,”

“I guess I’m more like you than I thought,” she laughed and he smiled tenderly at his youngest daughter

“Your friend set this whole thing up. He’s a nice boy. I think your grandma would like him. You know she’s getting old. She wants some grand babies soon,” Aileen blushed hard as she looked at a smiling Baekhyun who slipped his arm around her, “Take care of my baby,” he smiled at the boy

“Daddy we’re not like that,” she avoided Baekhyun’s eyes

“Why not? He’s thoughtful and respectful and not to mention good looking,”

“I’ll do anything to make your daughter happy sir,” Aileen finally looked at Baekhyun playfully rolling her eyes

“That’s what I like to hear. Well I have to be going sweetie. I love you and I’ll be seeing you soon. I think I’m going to watch Meet Me in St. Louis and pretend you’re here watching it with me,”

“Bye Daddy. I love you too,”

Aileen turned to Baekhyun and gave him a big hug.

“I don’t know what to say,”

“Don’t say anything just yet. I’m not finished with my surprise,”

Suddenly the music to Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas came on. Aileen was completely touched once she learned that Baekhyun was going to sing the song to her. She was even more touched that he was going to sing it in English.

Next year all our troubles will be
out of sight

Baekhyun grabbed her hand and started dancing with her. Suddenly fake snow started to fall. Aileen couldn’t believe how extremely sweet and romantic Baekhyun was being. She was having her very own Christmas in July.

Faithful friends who were near to us

Aileen’s emotions were all over the place. She missed her Dad and sister but she also was completely touched with what Baekhyun did for her. She couldn’t contain her tears.

Someday soon, we all will be together
If the Fates allow
Until then, we'll have to muddle through somehow
So have yourself a merry little Christmas now

Once the music stopped Baekhyun looked at Aileen and wiped her tears away.

“I’m sorry Oppa. I’m a mess,”

“But you’re a cute mess,”

“I can’t begin to explain in words…”

“Then don’t,” he lightly kissed her forehead, “Merry Christmas Aileen,” Baekhyun embraced Aileen in a tight hug with a big smile on his face
